Kobé Japanese Steakhouse - Brandon

We've been regular customers of Kobe Japanese Steakhouse in Brandon for the past 11 years, consistently enjoying the experience. It used to be our go-to spot for our kids' birthdays because the hibachi show was always super entertaining for them. We hadn't been there in a while and decided to return tonight, and it was nice to see that the restaurant has remodeled a bit and expanded from 18 to 22 Teppanyaki tables. The food and service continue to deserve 4 stars. The chefs are always kind, accommodating, and generous - not just with portions but also with refills of their signature sauces, like the Yum Yum sauce and Ginger sauce. Their salad dressing is especially good, and my son always looks forward to their strawberry smoothies, served with a pineapple slice on the side. The reason I can't quite give five stars is because they cook with vegetable oil, which isn't the healthiest option. That said, I do appreciate that they switched from margarine to regular butter about two years ago-a definite improvement. The food itself is pretty good but undeniably heavy, so it's best to come with a hearty appetite. Another small recommendation would be to make the sushi rolls a bit smaller. While the flavor is great, the rolls are so large that it's hard to enjoy them in one bite, and cutting them in half/biting them often causes them to fall apart. Overall, the food remains consistently good, and the restaurant is always bustling - a clear sign that it's a local favorite.

My family went to this Brandon location to celebrate my 2 nephews birthdays. It was a first time for them. Our server was Winnie and our chef was Bruce. Let me tell you them 2 working as a pair is what made our night. Both of them so engaging and know how to keep the table engaged the whole time.. I didn't hear other tables laughing like ours. We will go back to this location just to have Bruce and Winnie.

DJ and Junior are awesome. Loved the show and they are very friendly and great customer service. Loved it will be coming back definitely!!!

Always have a great time here! Sydney was our server this time, and she was absolutely wonderful. Very pleasant to talk to and helpful with all our questions. Mike was our expert cook and his talents were definitely on display. Protip: make sure you set up a reservation and even then be prepared to wait a short while because this place gets very busy. For a good reason.

I went in at around 2:30 to see if I could book a reservation. The reception desk said go to the bar area for service. I stood there for 10 minutes not one person so I left I went back at 5 PM for dinner and I said I did not have a reservation. The girl put us down for 530/545 took my number and said you will get a text. I sat at the bar and had a drink, which by the way it tasted like there was no alcohol in it. That’s what you got for a seven dollar happy hour drink as opposed to $15 regular menu price Was seated at our table with another group and I thought I was gonna be seated on top of the next person, but we weren’t. I want my personal space and in my own body but turned out. Everything was fine with seating. Our server was friendly, but kind of acted fake. The soup was freeze dried stuff in a bowl and then she poured hot water in it. Can you get there? Then she practically threw the salad into the plates. Then it went with time for the cooking part of the hibachi I did not like our server. He tried to be funny, but he wasn’t all of the food that he was making tasted burnt. I will not return.
