About Kingdom Of Dumpling

Located at 1713 Taraval Street in San Francisco, Kingdom Of Dumpling is a Chinese Restaurant that, as its name suggests, places a strong emphasis on dumplings. This establishment offers a range of handmade dumplings alongside other popular Chinese dishes, catering to local users seeking authentic flavors in the Outer Sunset neighborhood. While customer reviews provide insights into the restaurant's offerings, they also highlight certain aspects that potential patrons should be aware of.

Based on customer feedback, the environment of Kingdom Of Dumpling is described as "tiny," with only "5-6 tables." This intimate setting can lead to the restaurant feeling "stuffy when packed," particularly due to the proximity of the kitchen and limited ventilation, with only "one window" mentioned. This suggests that while the restaurant might offer a cozy atmosphere when not crowded, it could become less comfortable during peak hours. For those sensitive to noise and limited space, this is an important consideration for dining in.

The services offered by Kingdom Of Dumpling include both dine-in and delivery options. One reviewer mentioned visiting with friends for a dine-in experience, while another specifically ordered delivery. This indicates that the restaurant caters to customers who prefer to eat at the location as well as those who opt for the convenience of having food brought to their homes. The availability of delivery expands their reach to local users beyond the immediate vicinity of Taraval Street. To inquire about their delivery radius or any specific delivery platforms they use, customers can contact them at (415) 566-6143 or +1 415-566-6143.

The primary feature of Kingdom Of Dumpling is undoubtedly its variety of handmade dumplings. Customers have reported trying several types, including "Shanghai soup dumplings," "pan fried Shanghai dumplings," "napa cabbage boiled dumplings," and "fried chive dumplings." While one reviewer noted that "the dough was slightly too thick for all dumplings," they also acknowledged that it was evident that the dumplings were handmade, which is often a sign of care and authenticity in preparation. This suggests that while there might be room for improvement in the dough consistency, the effort put into making the dumplings by hand is appreciated.

Beyond dumplings, the menu at Kingdom Of Dumpling includes other Chinese dishes such as "salt&pepper chicken wings," "spicy wontons," and "noodles." Reviews for these items are mixed. The chicken wings were described as "crispy but lack flavor depth," indicating a textural success but a potential deficiency in taste. The noodles were noted to have "good chewiness," but the "sauce was a tad oily." On a more positive note, the "chilli wantons were good!" and one reviewer found the "xo beef chow fun had good flavor and mix of veggies." However, this same reviewer expressed significant disappointment with the "verrrrrry little beef" in the chow fun, describing the portion as "incredibly stingy." This inconsistency in the quality and execution of different dishes is something for potential customers to consider.

The overall impression of the food quality from one reviewer was that they "weren’t impressed," despite wanting to like the restaurant based on positive reviews they had seen elsewhere. They speculated that it might have been an "off-night" for their visit but expressed a willingness to return if in the area. This suggests that experiences might vary, and perhaps some dishes are more consistently well-received than others. The cost for a meal was estimated to be around "$27-30 per pax" based on their order, including a tip, providing a general idea of the price range for dining in.

A significant negative experience was reported by a customer who ordered delivery. They were "unpleasantly surprised" to find their "crispy chicken wings" "swimming in a sea of extremely sugary liquid." This starkly contrasts with the dine-in reviewer's comment about the wings being crispy but lacking flavor. This discrepancy could indicate inconsistencies in preparation between dine-in and delivery orders, or perhaps a change in recipe or execution. The description of the sauce as "extremely sugary" is also a strong negative point for this particular dish.

No specific promotional information, such as discounts or special offers, was mentioned in the provided reviews. Local users interested in potential promotions at Kingdom Of Dumpling would need to contact the restaurant directly at (415) 566-6143 or +1 415-566-6143 to inquire. Given the mixed reviews on food quality and the description of the environment as small and potentially stuffy, it might be beneficial for first-time customers to consider starting with a takeout order to assess the food before dining in, or to visit during off-peak hours if they prefer a less crowded atmosphere.

In conclusion, Kingdom Of Dumpling on Taraval Street in San Francisco specializes in handmade dumplings and offers a variety of other Chinese dishes. While the effort in making the dumplings by hand is noted, some customers have found the dough to be slightly thick. Reviews on other dishes are mixed, with some positive feedback on items like spicy wontons and the flavor of the xo beef chow fun (though the latter suffered from a very small portion of beef), and negative comments regarding the flavor depth of the chicken wings and an overly sugary sauce on delivered wings. The restaurant itself is small and can get stuffy when busy. They offer both dine-in and delivery services. Potential customers should be aware of the varying feedback on food quality and the intimate environment when making their decision. Checking for any current promotions by contacting the restaurant directly might also be worthwhile.

Came the other night with a few friends! It’s a tiny restaurant with 5-6 tables. Can get stuffy when packed especially with the kitchen just a couple feet away and one window for ventilation. Food was decent, we ordered Shanghai soup dumplings, pan fried Shanghai dumplings, napa cabbage boiled dumplings, salt&pepper chicken wings, fried chive dumplings, spicy wontons and noodles. The dough was slightly too thick for all dumplings but you can tell it’s handmade! Chicken wings were crispy but lack flavor depth. Noodles had good chewiness, sauce was a tad oily. Chilli wantons were good! I wanted so badly for it to be good because of the positive reviews. Maybe we went on an off-night but we weren’t impressed by the food? But we’re still willing to go back again if we’re in the area. Give it a try!! Was about $27-30 per pax from the food+tip.

Ordered delivery. To my unpleasant surprise, the "crispy chicken wings" were swimming in a sea of extremely sugary liquid. The xo beef chow fun had good flavor and mix of veggies but verrrrrrry little beef. I thought they forgot it at first. No excuse for such an incredibly stingy portion of beef.

This is one of San Francisco best underrated places. The prices are amazingly pocket friendly, and the food was insanely Delicious. We had ordered dumplings, chicken, fried rice soup, dumplings, and pancakes. I love the fried rice. It was so flavourful and very comforting. The dumplings were great to, and the pancakes were loaded with meat. Definitely, this is a place which I will visit many more times in the future.

This felt very special. Like we stumbled into a well kept Sunset secret. Where kids who grew up in San Francisco grew up eating here, where they learned to use chopsticks, where families came after church, or to celebrate a win. These are the no frills incredible eats that we personally love. It’s a hole in the wall, family owned and operated, leave your judgements at the door and leave so full and so happy. Adding this one to our repeat spots. Green beans were easily the best of our lives. Thank you.

I was craving for some dumplings and tofu before I had back to Texas from a business trip. It was a wonderful treat, delicious! I had Pork Dumpling with Green Chives- it melts in your mouth and the flavor was balance perfect! The 2nd dish was Salt Pepper Tofu- it crispy outside and soft inside with lots of seasoning and just wow! This is the place to go to if you want a traditional dumplings and salt and pepper, tofu! Would I come back you dam right I’ll be back on my next business trip!
