About King's Wok Chinese Restaurant
King's Wok Chinese Restaurant is a takeout-focused establishment located at 8320 Litchford Rd, Raleigh, NC 27615, USA. As a Chinese restaurant, King's Wok operates within the platform category dedicated to providing Chinese cuisine and related services, primarily catering to customers seeking convenient takeout options in the Raleigh area.
For inquiries or to place orders, King's Wok can be contacted at the phone number (919) 878-5252 or via mobile phone at +1 919-878-5252. These contact details are essential for customers looking to place orders for pickup or to ask about the menu and operating hours.
Customer reviews offer a mixed perspective on King's Wok. One reviewer expresses high satisfaction with the food quality relative to the prices, considering it to be 5-star and exceeding expectations for the affordability. This suggests that King's Wok provides good value for money in terms of its culinary offerings.
This positive sentiment is echoed in the same review regarding the service, which is described as consistently "quick and painless," earning another 5-star rating. This indicates that King's Wok prioritizes efficiency and ease for customers, particularly those picking up orders.
Regarding the atmosphere, the reviewer notes that it is "basically non-existent," which is understandable given that King's Wok primarily functions as a takeout place rather than a traditional sit-down restaurant. Despite this, the reviewer still gives it a 4-star rating, suggesting that while the ambiance might be minimal, it is generally acceptable for a takeout-oriented business, though there might be room for slight improvement in the appearance of the takeout area.
However, another customer review presents a significant negative experience specifically concerning the fried rice. This reviewer describes the rice as being "more of a whitish color not yellow" and deems it "nasty," leading them to throw away a large order of house fried rice and stating they would not return. This strong negative reaction to a specific dish highlights potential inconsistencies in food quality or preparation. The reviewer also mentions the staff being quick to offer sauce, implying an awareness of a potential lack of flavor in the rice, which soy sauce could not rectify.
Interestingly, the same reviewer mentions that a different dish ordered by their daughter was considered "ok," suggesting that the negative experience might be isolated to certain items, in this case, the fried rice. This indicates that the quality of different dishes at King's Wok may vary, and customers might need to be cautious about specific items.
Considering these reviews, King's Wok appears to be a budget-friendly takeout restaurant that generally offers quick and efficient service. The food quality is appreciated by some, especially in relation to the reasonable prices. However, there are significant concerns regarding the quality of at least one key menu item, the fried rice, which one customer found unacceptable. The atmosphere is minimal, as expected for a takeout-focused establishment.
As a Chinese restaurant primarily focused on takeout, King's Wok likely offers a standard menu of popular Chinese dishes. These typically include a variety of fried rice options (though the review highlights a potential issue with their preparation), noodle dishes such as lo mein and chow mein, stir-fried entrees featuring different meats (like chicken, beef, and pork) and seafood combined with vegetables, and various appetizers like spring rolls and egg rolls. Given the mention of "house fried rice" and the daughter ordering "something diff," it can be inferred that they have a range of main courses available. However, the specific menu items and their preparation quality might vary.
The primary service offered by King's Wok is takeout, allowing customers to conveniently pick up their orders to consume elsewhere. While one review praises the speed and efficiency of the service, this likely pertains to the process of ordering and picking up food. There is no mention of dine-in service, which aligns with the description of it being a "takeout-place." Similarly, there is no information provided regarding delivery services. Customers interested in delivery options would need to inquire directly with the restaurant if such services are available through third-party platforms or directly from King's Wok.
The atmosphere of King's Wok is described as "basically non-existent" but acceptable for a takeout place. This suggests a functional environment focused on order preparation and pickup rather than a comfortable or elaborately decorated dining area. Customers should likely expect a simple and utilitarian space when visiting to collect their orders.
Features of King's Wok might include their focus on affordability and quick service, as highlighted in one of the reviews. They likely offer standard Chinese takeout fare, but specific signature dishes or unique offerings are not mentioned in the provided feedback. The fact that one customer found the prices "very reasonable" suggests that value for money might be a key feature of this establishment.
There is no promotional information available for King's Wok in the provided data. Takeout restaurants sometimes offer lunch specials, combination deals, or discounts for large orders. To find out if King's Wok has any current promotions, customers would need to check local advertising, online platforms, or contact the restaurant directly.
In conclusion, King's Wok Chinese Restaurant in Raleigh, NC, is a takeout-oriented establishment that is praised for its affordable prices and quick service. However, there are concerns regarding the quality of certain food items, specifically the fried rice, which one customer found to be unsatisfactory. The atmosphere is basic, as expected for a takeout place. Potential customers seeking budget-friendly Chinese takeout with fast service may find King's Wok appealing, but they should be aware of the reported issues with the fried rice and the lack of dine-in facilities.

Customer Reviews
For the prices that this takeout-place charges (which are very reasonable), Food is 5-stars; can't really expect any better food for the prices charged. Also, every time I went there, the Service was quick and painless, so 5-star for Service too; again, can't expect any better. Atmosphere is basically non-existent. But, it is a takeout-place, not a sit-down-place. So, 4-stars for Atmosphere - one can expect a somewhat better looking takeout-place, but not by much.
The rice is more os a whitish color not yellow and its nasty. I ordered a large house fried rice. I threw the whole container away. Not going back.. was out all day w my daughter and wanted friend rice, ribs (made it myself as foodlion has it in sale 6 bucks a slab) and a cherry pepsi. Well KING WOK YOU FLOPPED and nobody like white fried rice. Now I see why you was quick to ask if I wanted sauce.. soy sauce cant save this.. My daughter ordered something diff and she sid it was ok. Dont buy the rice alone!!!!
I asked for wings fried fresh. The lady took my money and proceeded to use wings that was already fried right in front of me. I asked her why would she do that and she said the fresh wings were frozen. Not cool at all!
I’ve lived in Raleigh for 30 years and have tried every Chinese restaurant in town. This has to be hands down the worst Chinese food I’ve ever had. I never leave reviews but I feel I have to this time. Do yourself a favor and stay home and make pasta from a jar you’ll be happier. Update from an hour ago I was so sick from it I had to vomit.
Ordered a large boneless spare rib for $11.85 and I got a few pieces of burnt pork. I drove back to the place and asked for a large, they told me that was a large. Any other Chinese takeout in raliegh would have been at least a quart sized container. At least they returned it for me. The egg rolls we ok.
