About King Chinese Buffet

King Chinese Buffet, located at 87 S 3218, 3218 NC-87 in Sanford, NC 27332, operates as a Chinese restaurant offering an extensive all-you-can-eat buffet. They can be contacted at (919) 775-2222 or +1 919-775-2222 for inquiries. Based on recent customer reviews, the experience at King Chinese Buffet appears to be mixed, with some acknowledging the affordability and variety while others express significant concerns about food quality, ambiance, and service.

Several reviewers highlighted issues with the organization and labeling of the food on the buffet. One customer noted that "No item was named which is easy thing to do," and that when they inquired with the staff, they received inconsistent and often uninformed responses. This lack of clear labeling could lead to confusion for diners, especially those with dietary restrictions or preferences, and suggests a lack of attention to detail in the presentation of the buffet.

The quality of the food itself received varied feedback. One reviewer stated that "Foods not that great with every chicken tastes almost same," indicating a lack of distinct flavors among different chicken dishes. This suggests a potential issue with the seasoning or preparation of their poultry offerings. The same review also criticized the salad bar, noting "Salad just has long celery, they doesn’t have time to cut small atleast," pointing to a lack of care in the preparation of even simple items. The only aspects this reviewer found positive were the cookie ice cream and the fruits, concluding that they would "never ever visit this place again."

Ambiance was another point of concern for at least one customer. The bright lighting was deemed unfavorable, creating a less than ideal dining atmosphere. More significantly, this reviewer expressed disgust and potential health code concerns regarding the placement of "large bins for food scraps, trash, and dirty plates literally only a few feet from patron tables and it is next to one of the buffet lines." This proximity of waste to dining areas is not only unappetizing but could also pose hygiene risks.

In terms of food selection, one reviewer mentioned that King Chinese Buffet has "4 buffet rows and a diverse selection of Chinese, Asian, and American cuisines." While the variety might be appealing, the quality of the specific items tried was inconsistent. This customer found "the basics like the rice, broccoli, curry chicken, egg drop soup were good." However, they reported that "the spring rolls were soggy, the seafood was dry and hard, the pork was tough and chewy, the skewers were fatty, and the lo mein was really greasy." This suggests that while the buffet offers a wide range of options, the execution of many dishes may be lacking, particularly those beyond the basic staples.

One reviewer expressed a strong opinion about the overall quality of the Chinese food, stating that those who find it good "must not know what actual good Chinese food tastes like outside of Sanford." This indicates a perception that the food at King Chinese Buffet does not meet the standards of authentic or high-quality Chinese cuisine. However, this reviewer also acknowledged a significant draw: the "affordable $10.95 buffet price" and the "wide selection." This suggests that the restaurant's primary appeal might be its affordability and the sheer variety of food offered, even if the quality is perceived as mediocre.

The environment of King Chinese Buffet, based on the reviews, seems to be a large space accommodating multiple buffet lines and seating areas. However, the bright lighting and the proximity of waste disposal to dining tables detract from the overall ambiance and could be a significant negative factor for some customers. The focus appears to be on volume and variety rather than creating a refined dining atmosphere.

The services offered are primarily centered around the self-serve buffet experience. Staff are present to manage the buffet, clear tables, and handle payment. However, the reported lack of knowledge about the food items and the issues with labeling suggest that the level of service in terms of providing information or addressing specific dietary needs might be limited. The affordability of the buffet is a key aspect of their service offering, attracting customers looking for a budget-friendly all-you-can-eat option.

Features of King Chinese Buffet include its extensive selection of Chinese, Asian, and even some American dishes, spread across four buffet rows. The very affordable price point of $10.95 for the buffet is also a significant feature, making it an attractive option for those seeking value for money. However, the inconsistent food quality, lack of clear labeling, and potentially unhygienic placement of waste bins are notable drawbacks.

There is no promotional information mentioned in the provided reviews. It is unknown whether King Chinese Buffet offers any special discounts, lunch specials, or other promotions. The low base price of the buffet itself might be considered their primary promotional strategy, appealing to budget-conscious diners.

For local users in Sanford, NC, considering King Chinese Buffet, it is essential to weigh the pros and cons highlighted in these recent reviews. The restaurant offers a very affordable all-you-can-eat experience with a wide variety of dishes, which might be appealing to those prioritizing quantity and price. However, there are significant concerns raised about the quality of many food items, the lack of clear labeling, the unappealing ambiance with bright lighting and nearby waste disposal, and potentially inconsistent service in terms of staff knowledge about the food.

Those with high expectations for food quality or a pleasant dining environment might be disappointed. However, if the primary goal is to eat a large quantity of food at a very low price point and a wide selection is desired, King Chinese Buffet might be worth considering, perhaps with the understanding that the quality may be inconsistent. It might be advisable to manage expectations and focus on the basic dishes that received more positive mentions, such as the rice, broccoli, curry chicken, and egg drop soup. The cookie ice cream and fruits were also noted as enjoyable.

In conclusion, King Chinese Buffet in Sanford, NC, offers an affordable all-you-can-eat experience with a diverse range of Chinese, Asian, and American dishes. However, potential customers should be aware of reported issues with food quality, ambiance, and service, including inconsistent dish preparation, lack of labeling, and concerns about hygiene. The low price and wide selection are the main draws, but diners should manage their expectations accordingly.

Hardly we give a lower rating but this place needs this so that they consider it in making it better. To start of, first easy things that restaurants can do is organise food. No item was named which is easy thing to do and when we asked staff each of them gave different answers and no one really knows everything. Foods not that great with every chicken tastes almost same. Salad just has long celery, they doesn’t have time to cut small atleast. Only cookie ice cream is something that we liked along with fruits. Will never ever visit this place again.

I can’t give this restaurant a 3 star rating. It was just too disappointing. First thing that was a disappointment is the ambiance. The lighting is too bright. Plus, they keep the large bins for food scraps, trash, and dirty plates literally only a few feet from patron tables and it is next to one of the buffet lines. It was sorta gross and probably a health code violation. The food… They have 4 buffet rows and a diverse selection of Chinese, Asian, and American cuisines. Some things I tried were ok and others were not. The basics like the rice, broccoli, curry chicken, egg drop soup were good. Unfortunately the spring rolls were soggy, the seafood was dry and hard, the pork was tough and chewy, the skewers were fatty, and the lo mein was really greasy. We were there for supper when the food should have been at its best. The reviews saying this is good Chinese food must not know what actual good Chinese food tastes like outside of Sanford. I don’t have any desire to eat here again. Perhaps if my husband is really craving Chinese food I may reconsider and give them another chance because you can’t beat their affordable $10.95 buffet price and they do have a wide selection.

We found this buffet on our way home. The amount of food at this buffet is surprising compared to the size of the restaurant. If you like Chinese food, you can definitely find a dish here. The service is standard for this type of restaurant. Food temperature is hot and cooks brought food out regularly. We will return if we are in the area.

First time eating the buffet that most of the food was cold. The individual that removed the plates also advised she would take the money. She asked if it was all for her. I advised I think not. When she got back to the table she tried to hand me part and keep the rest. I advised I would leave a tip when I was ready. I still left $5 towards a $29.00 buffet meal which the hostess brought a drink and took away a plate.

Not much of a all you can eat, more like eat for the first 20 minutes before the waiters come over and start staring at you. My waiter wasn't very nice and in the end demanded a tip. Still left the waiter a $5 tip because she did still clean up.
