About King Buffet
Welcome to King Buffet, a Chinese restaurant located at 617 Ohio Pike in Cincinnati, Ohio (OH 45245). As a Chinese Restaurant operating as a buffet, King Buffet aims to offer a wide selection of dishes, including various Chinese culinary staples, alongside options like sushi and a range of desserts, providing an "all you can eat" experience for its customers. You can reach them at (513) 718-8211 or their mobile number +1 513-718-8211 for any inquiries.
However, recent customer reviews paint a concerning picture of the dining experience at King Buffet. Multiple patrons have reported significant issues related to food temperature, cleanliness, food availability, and overall value for money. These firsthand accounts suggest that potential customers should be aware of these reported problems before deciding to dine at King Buffet.
One particularly alarming review details a severely negative experience. The customer reported paying $62 for two adults and two toddlers and found that there was not much food available on the buffet line, with even the rice being cold. This individual, who had visited King Buffet several times before, stated that this last experience was so poor that they would "never go back." Cleanliness was also a major issue, as they described all four tables they attempted to sit at as "sticky," eventually settling for the "less sticky one." The buffet service was also criticized, with the customer having to ask if more of certain dishes, such as chicken and broccoli, would be prepared, only to find very limited and seemingly old portions available. When the customer's wife requested more crawfish, a staff member reportedly dismissed the request while looking at their phone, stating "no more." The only item the reviewer found to be adequately hot was the rice that a staff member retrieved from the back, presumably from a rice cooker, after the customer complained about the cold rice on the buffet. The ultimate consequence of this experience was severe nausea and vomiting immediately after leaving the restaurant, to the point where the reviewer's wife had to drive them home. The reviewer expressed regret over the high cost for the limited and unsatisfactory food and wished they had chosen another dining option.
Another customer who visited King Buffet with a friend last weekend also reported issues with food temperature. While they found the seating comfortable and the tables clean (contradicting the previous review regarding sticky tables, suggesting potential inconsistency), they noted that "many items that should have been hot or at least room temperature were cold," specifically mentioning potstickers and crab rangoons. They also pointed out that while self-serve drinks were acceptable, the overall price (almost $20 per person) seemed "a little pricey" considering the cold food. On a more positive note, this reviewer found the flavor of the food to be "good" and appreciated the "plenty of dessert options," specifically mentioning the "good" strawberry layer cakes. They also enjoyed the "handful of different choices" of sushi available. Despite these few positives, this customer concluded that while they "wouldn't be opposed to returning," they would prioritize other buffets or American Chinese restaurants over King Buffet.
The recurring theme of cold food across multiple reviews is a significant concern for any buffet-style restaurant, where maintaining proper food temperatures is crucial for both palatability and food safety. The first reviewer's experience of potentially old and limited food further exacerbates this concern. The issue of cleanliness, with the report of multiple sticky tables, also raises questions about the overall hygiene of the dining environment.
The discrepancy in the two reviews regarding table cleanliness might indicate inconsistency in the restaurant's upkeep. However, the consistent complaint about cold food and limited availability, especially considering the price paid, suggests fundamental issues with the buffet operation. The dismissive response regarding the crawfish also points to potential shortcomings in customer service.
While one reviewer found some aspects of the food flavor to be good and appreciated the dessert and sushi options, these positives are overshadowed by the significant problems with food temperature and availability. The high price point mentioned by both reviewers, especially in light of the negative experiences, suggests a poor value proposition for customers.
For local users in Cincinnati looking for a Chinese buffet, the recent reviews for King Buffet present a strong cautionary message. The reported issues with cold food, potential cleanliness problems, limited selection, and high prices relative to the experience should be carefully considered. While buffets can offer variety and volume, the negative feedback suggests that King Buffet may be falling short in delivering a satisfactory dining experience in these key areas.
There is no information provided in the reviews regarding any specific promotional offers or unique features of King Buffet that might differentiate it from other Chinese restaurants in the area. Therefore, potential customers must base their decision on the experiences shared by other diners, which, in this case, are largely negative.
In conclusion, King Buffet in Cincinnati, OH, is a Chinese restaurant operating as a buffet. While it offers a variety of food options, including sushi and desserts, recent customer reviews raise significant concerns about the cold temperature of many dishes, potential cleanliness issues such as sticky tables, limited food availability on the buffet line, and a price point that is perceived as high given the overall experience. Local users are advised to carefully weigh these negative reports when considering King Buffet as a dining option.

I literally threw up. Read the ending. Paid $62 for 2 adults and 2 toddlers, there wasn’t much food out and even the rice was cold. I’ve been here several times before but this time I can say I would never go back. All the tables were sticky, at least the 4 tables we tried sitting at before picking the less sticky one. Me having to ask if they are going to make more of this or that isn’t ideal. It’s not like we showed up 30 minutes before they closed. The stuff I normally eat for instance chicken and broccoli, in the pan there was only maybe one portion in it and seemed like it sat there for a while. My wife wanted more crawfish so I asked if they are making more and the guy standing there on his phone looked up and said “no more”. I did ask the lady for rice since it was cold in the pan so she took my plate in the back to get me some from I’m assuming the rice cooker. That was the hottest item I received. After eating whatever they had that didn’t look like it sat out all day my stomach was turning. I literally walked out of there and felt nauseous. If you walk around the left side of the building looking at it from the road you’ll see where I threw up. I’ve never vomited immediately after leaving a restaurant my wife had to drive home. For the workers who don’t believe this look at the cameras. Paying this much for the little food they had out I wish I would have settled on somewhere else.
A friend and I tried King Buffet last weekend. It had comfortable seating and clean tables. The buffet had a good variety of food, however many items that should have been hot or at least room temperature were cold (e.g. potstickers, crab rangoons). Drinks are self-serve which is fine but it seems a little pricey (almost $20) when the food is cold. Flavor of the food was good and they had plenty of dessert options. The strawberry layer cakes were good. I liked the sushi I had; they had a handful of different choices. I wouldn't be opposed to returning but would choose other buffets/American Chinese restaurants ahead of this one.
First of all the tables and floors were gross and the men's bathroom smells like sewage. Almost every piece of food that I got was cold or room temperature and was not fresh at all. Within 2 hours of eating here on a Saturday lunch, I became very ill. It's been 2 days and I'm still trying to recover and can barely eat. I highly recommend the Board of Health give them a surprise visit to check all the warmers and food temps and cooking practices. Also, all the seafood is randomly placed with all the other food which can cause cross contamination for people with allergies, and also can transfer tastes and smells as people splash foods around. All the seafood should be isolated to its own food bars.
Everything is cold or barely above room temp. I see now why they make you pay before you even sit down. 20 bucks a play. I would at least like my food to be warm. Fingers crossed I don't get food poisoning
Food was over cooked or undercooked. I could use chicken leg as a baseball bat but sweet sour pork was tender; so raw batter was runny. Food had general labels your guess if it was spicy, veg, allergens. Very limited sushi bar, there were 3 types and one was out the whole time we were there. The cleanest place in the restaurant was the bathrooms, that isn't saying much w overfull cans, sticky floors and 2 stalls open for use. $20 a person was crazy but presentation upon entering looked nice from door.
