About Kim’s Express
Kim’s Express is a Chinese restaurant located at 2401 Highland Ave #102 in National City, California. This establishment offers a variety of Chinese dishes for the local community. Customers can contact Kim’s Express by phone at (619) 336-0205 or via their mobile number +1 619-336-0205.
Based on recent online reviews from customers, there appear to be significant concerns regarding both the service and the quality of the food at Kim’s Express. One customer recounted a negative experience involving being ignored by staff upon arrival, with other customers being served first. This reviewer stated that it was only the intervention of a male staff member that eventually led to them being assisted. Furthermore, this customer described the cashier as "rude," leading to an uncomfortable dining atmosphere. The same review also mentioned that the food, costing $27 for two combos and two drinks, lacked flavor and freshness, with one dish described as "really old" and featuring "gray broccoli." This raises serious concerns about the freshness and quality of the ingredients and food preparation at Kim’s Express.
Another customer shared an extremely negative experience with a delivery order placed through DoorDash. This reviewer stated that upon receiving their order, intended for themselves, their boyfriend, and their daughter, they were immediately disgusted after taking a single bite. They reported biting into a piece of "raw chicken," while their boyfriend's chicken was described as "really old and stale." The reviewer also mentioned that their daughter's chicken looked so unappetizing that they would not allow her to eat it. Adding to these issues, the rice was described as "dry and old." This customer expressed extreme dissatisfaction, stating they had never been more disgusted with Chinese food and promptly requested a refund through DoorDash. They concluded their review by strongly advising others not to waste their time or money on Kim’s Express and cautioned against risking their health, indicating a severe lack of confidence in the restaurant's food safety and quality standards.
Given the overwhelmingly negative nature of these recent reviews, it is challenging to provide a positive description of the environment or other aspects of Kim’s Express based solely on this information. The focus of the feedback is primarily on unsatisfactory service and significant issues with food quality and freshness. The mention of a rude cashier in one review suggests a potentially unwelcoming environment for dine-in customers. The reports of raw and stale chicken, as well as old rice and discolored vegetables, paint a concerning picture of the kitchen practices and food handling at this establishment.
Regarding features, the fact that the first reviewer ordered "combos" suggests that Kim’s Express offers combination meals, which are a common feature in many Chinese fast-food style restaurants. The mention of ordering through DoorDash indicates that Kim’s Express provides food delivery services through third-party platforms, expanding its reach to customers who prefer to dine at home. However, the severely negative feedback regarding the quality of the delivered food raises serious questions about the consistency and care taken with orders intended for off-site consumption.
Currently, there is no information available in these reviews regarding any promotional offers or special deals at Kim’s Express. The customers' experiences were focused on issues with service and food quality, rather than any positive aspects such as promotions or value for money. The negative comments about the food not being worth the money spent suggest that any potential promotions would be overshadowed by the fundamental problems reported with the food itself.
In conclusion, the recent customer reviews for Kim’s Express in National City paint a concerning picture of this Chinese restaurant. Multiple reviewers reported negative experiences, including instances of poor and rude customer service, as well as significant issues with the freshness and quality of the food. Reports of raw chicken, stale chicken, old rice, and discolored vegetables are particularly alarming and raise serious questions about food safety and hygiene practices. Potential customers should carefully consider these recent experiences before deciding to dine at or order from Kim’s Express. The strong negative feedback suggests a need for significant improvements in both service and food quality to regain customer trust and satisfaction.

They ignored me while standing directly in front of me and when other people came in they were skipping me but the male interrupted and helped me. The cashier was rude and I felt uncomfortable eating there bc she was staring 2 combos and 2 drinks $27. Food was not flavorful and was not fresh one of the dishes being offered looked old. Really old with gray broccoli. I'm serious.
I ordered this place on doordash for my boyfriend, daughter and myself. We opened our food, took one bite and we were all disgusted. I bit into a raw piece of chicken, my boyfriend's chicken was really old and stale, and my daughter's chicken looked so bad I wouldn't let her eat it. The rice was dry and old, and I have never in my life been more disgusted with Chinese food. I called doordash for my money back. We threw all of the food away! Do not waste your time and certainly don't waste your money or risk your health on this place. If I could give negative stars I would have!
Me and my family went and bought 3 bowls which cost almost 40 dollars, the chicken is mushy and has the slightest bit of chicken , the rice was dry but the chow mae was okay , the worker gave my brother the original orange chicken when he asked for sweet and sour orange chicken, the worker had a AirPod in. Bad service.Bad food.
Decided to give this place a try because there were a bunch of buy-one-get-one's on UberEats. Got the spicy orange chicken, broccoli beef, lo mein, cream cheese rangoons, and sweet & sour chicken (just an FYI, the sweet & sour chicken comes with the sauce already on the chicken). I really wasn't expecting much since there were no reviews and so many BOGO deals but I gotta say, Kim's outperforms other Chinese restaurants that are in the same price range. Hopefully they won't get rid of the BOGO deals anytime soon, cause I'll keep ordering as long as they are offered. I'm impressed!
Good food and great prices, quick service I can’t complain🤷🏽♀️
