About Kang Kang Food Court
Welcome to Kang Kang Food Court, a Chinese restaurant located at 9618 E Las Tunas Dr in Temple City, California. Positioned within the Chinese Restaurant category, Kang Kang Food Court is presented as an eatery offering affordable and quick Chinese food options, particularly known for its combo meals and a variety of dishes. This introduction aims to provide local users with an objective overview of the environment, services, features, and any mentions of value or quality based on available customer reviews.
Based on one customer's experience, Kang Kang Food Court is described as one of the "best cheap and quick Chinese food eateries in town." This suggests that the establishment prioritizes affordability and speed of service, making it a convenient option for those looking for a budget-friendly and fast meal. The mention of a "3 item combo only $10" further supports this, highlighting the value aspect of their offerings. This type of combo meal allows customers to choose a selection of dishes at a set, economical price.
The variety of food available at Kang Kang Food Court is also a notable feature. The same reviewer mentioned a range of options including "all sorts of chicken, pork, beef dishes, grilled fish, veggies, tofu," indicating a diverse menu that can cater to different preferences. The combo meal also comes with a side of rice and seaweed egg drop soup, providing a complete and satisfying meal. Additionally, the restaurant offers "other dumpling dishes," suggesting that this is another specialty or popular item on their menu, although the reviewer typically opts for the combo meals.
However, another customer shared a concerning experience regarding the freshness of the food. They mentioned that their children enjoyed the Shao Mai (a type of dumpling), so they purchased three to go, being assured by the seller that they were "all freshly made." However, upon eating them later the same night, they found mold on two of the Shao Mai after consuming the first one. This raises significant concerns about the food handling and quality control at Kang Kang Food Court, especially regarding the claim of freshness. The customer's disbelief that freshly made food would develop mold within the same day is understandable and highlights a potentially serious issue.
The stark contrast between the two reviews presents a mixed picture of Kang Kang Food Court. On one hand, it is praised for its affordability, quick service, and variety of dishes, particularly the combo meals and the availability of dumplings like Shao Mai. This suggests that for customers looking for a budget-friendly and fast Chinese meal with a good selection, Kang Kang Food Court might be a viable option, especially for dine-in during the morning, as mentioned by one reviewer who found the food "all fine" at that time.
On the other hand, the serious issue of mold found on a takeaway item purchased as "freshly made" raises significant red flags about food safety and quality control. This incident could deter potential customers and underscores the importance of consistent food handling and storage practices. The discrepancy between the claim of freshness and the subsequent discovery of mold is particularly troubling.
Given these contrasting experiences, it is difficult to definitively assess the overall quality and reliability of Kang Kang Food Court. The positive review focuses on the value and variety of the combo meals, while the negative review highlights a serious food safety concern with a takeaway item. Local users might want to consider these differing perspectives when deciding whether to patronize this establishment.
No specific promotional information beyond the "$10 for a 3 item combo" was mentioned in the provided reviews. Local users interested in any other specials or promotions at Kang Kang Food Court would need to contact the restaurant directly at (626) 309-9799 or +1 626-309-9799. Inquiring about daily specials or any deals on their dumpling dishes might provide additional value for potential diners.
To experience Kang Kang Food Court for themselves, local residents can visit their location at 9618 E Las Tunas Dr, Temple City, CA 91780, USA. However, given the serious food safety concern raised in one of the reviews, potential customers might want to exercise caution and perhaps inquire about the restaurant's food handling and freshness practices before making a purchase, especially for takeaway items.
In conclusion, Kang Kang Food Court in Temple City is presented as an affordable and quick Chinese food eatery, particularly known for its value-oriented combo meals and a variety of dishes including chicken, pork, beef, grilled fish, vegetables, tofu, and dumplings like Shao Mai. While one reviewer praised its affordability and variety, another reported a significant issue with mold on a takeaway item that was claimed to be freshly made. This serious food safety concern raises questions about the consistency of food quality and handling practices. Local users should consider these contrasting experiences when deciding whether to dine at or order from Kang Kang Food Court.

Best cheap and quick Chinese food eateries in town! 3 item combo only $10 and I got a bunch to go, ranging from all sorts of chicken, pork, beef dishes, grilled fish, veggies, tofu, and come up with a side of rice and seaweed egg drop soup. They also have other dumpling dishes but I always stick to the quick and dirty combo meals. Yum!
Food was all fine when we dined in in the morning. Our kids loved the Shao Mai so I got three big ones to go. When we got to eat them at night, I found mold on two of them after eating the first. The lady sold me these told me “take them all, they are all freshly made!” I can’t believe freshly made food will develop mold the same day….
Just your typical hole in the wall food court place. Come here for cheap, authentic Chinese food. Spent a total of $30 for one pan friend Bao and XLB. Each we're super hot, fresh and delicious and there was some table service. They serve their in-house chili, which you can buy for $10. But the chili I didn't find to be too spicy. Overall, I would highly recommend this place.
Beef Noodle Soup Tonight! Pretty Giant Portion at about $15- This place is known for most of their Popular Dishes which, are also posted on their walls like Posters. Plenty of Juicy Tender Meat, Amazing Brother, Yummy Vegetables. I was thinking about their Hot Tray Food honestly but, went with their Popular Beef Noodle Soup. There's plenty of Foodie Channels on YT & IG that showcase everything Popular served here. I also got a Melon Drink. They have Premade Teas, Juices and such made from various Fresh Fruits which are in their coolers, as well as Made To Order Fresh. Their Frozen Dumplings are also in their coolers to take home and cook with. Well reviewed and raved about on social media. They also sell Jok Rice Porridge.👌 Two Locations, the other in Alhambra, I believe. Restaurant is pretty Clean. Plenty of Seating. Restrooms by the back Exit/ Entrance. Plenty of Parking in the Lot out back OR Street Parking on Las Tunas Ave.
Sheng Jian Bao just as good as their other locations. They also have a freezer section with frozen dumplings and chili sauce which we will have to try. They now accept credit cards but charge a 3% fee.
