About Kam PO Kitchen

Welcome to Kam PO Kitchen, a Chinese restaurant located at 801 Broadway in the heart of San Francisco, California. Based on the limited customer feedback available online, this establishment appears to offer generous portion sizes and some highly-regarded dishes. However, it is also crucial for potential diners to be aware of a serious allegation regarding pricing discrepancies, where customers were reportedly charged significantly more than the prices listed on the menu. This introduction aims to provide an objective overview based on the available reviews, highlighting both the positive aspects and the significant concern raised by a customer.

As a Chinese restaurant in San Francisco, Kam PO Kitchen offers a menu of standard Chinese fare, with at least one dish, the salt and pepper pork chops, receiving high praise. According to one reviewer, the salt and pepper pork chops were described as "amazing!" This suggests that Kam PO Kitchen has the potential to deliver exceptionally tasty versions of certain classic dishes. The same reviewer also noted that "everything was huge!" indicating that the restaurant is known for its very generous portion sizes. For local users who value substantial meals, this could be a significant draw.

However, the culinary experience at Kam PO Kitchen seems to be somewhat varied, as the same reviewer mentioned that the "chow mein(?) wasn't my favorite." The question mark suggests some uncertainty about the specific type of chow mein ordered, but the comment indicates that not all dishes may meet every customer's expectations. Despite this, the reviewer concluded with a positive note, stating they "would definitely come again," likely due to the appealing salt and pepper pork chops and the large portions.

In stark contrast to the positive feedback on food quality and portion sizes, another reviewer reported a very concerning experience related to pricing. They stated that "the food was fantastic... but they scam you so beware." According to this review, the restaurant allegedly demanded higher prices than what was listed on the menu. The reviewer claimed that they were "forced to pay nearly 40$ for three dishes when it was around 26-7 according to the menu." This is a serious accusation that potential customers should be aware of, as it suggests a significant discrepancy between the advertised prices and what customers might actually be charged. Such a practice can severely impact the overall dining experience and erode customer trust.

Information regarding the environment or ambiance of Kam PO Kitchen is not detailed in the provided reviews. The focus of the feedback is primarily on the food and the alleged pricing issue. Therefore, local users seeking information about the restaurant's atmosphere or décor will need to consult other sources or their own observations upon visiting.

Similarly, specifics about the services offered at Kam PO Kitchen are limited. One reviewer mentioned the food being "huge" and having a standout dish, implying efficient preparation and serving of large portions. The other reviewer's negative experience focused on the billing aspect of the service, highlighting a significant failure in transparency and fair pricing. The stark contrast between these two experiences makes it difficult to form a comprehensive opinion about the overall service quality beyond the food preparation and the problematic billing incident.

A key feature of Kam PO Kitchen appears to be its generous portion sizes, with one reviewer explicitly mentioning that "everything was huge!" Another potential feature is the quality of specific dishes, such as the salt and pepper pork chops, which received high praise. However, these positive aspects are significantly overshadowed by the serious allegation of overcharging customers compared to the menu prices.

Currently, there is no promotional information available for Kam PO Kitchen in the provided reviews. Local users will need to consider the limited feedback, weighing the positive comments on food and portions against the grave concern raised about potential pricing scams.

For local users in San Francisco, particularly those in the Broadway area, Kam PO Kitchen presents a mixed picture. On one hand, the restaurant is reported to serve large portions and offers at least one standout dish, the salt and pepper pork chops, which has been described as "amazing." This could be appealing to those seeking a substantial meal with some potentially excellent options. However, the serious accusation of demanding higher prices than listed on the menu is a significant red flag that cannot be ignored. Potential diners should be extremely cautious and verify prices before ordering and upon receiving their bill to ensure they are being charged the correct amounts.

Located at 801 Broadway, Kam PO Kitchen is accessible within San Francisco. For inquiries or to place an order, they can be contacted at (415) 982-3516 or +1 415-982-3516. Given the serious allegation of price gouging, it would be prudent for potential customers to exercise caution and perhaps inquire about pricing policies before dining or ordering from this establishment. It might also be wise to keep a copy of the menu prices for reference.

In conclusion, Kam PO Kitchen in San Francisco is reported to offer large portions and delicious dishes like the salt and pepper pork chops. However, a significant and concerning review alleges that the restaurant engages in deceptive pricing practices by charging customers more than the prices listed on the menu. Local users should be aware of this serious accusation and exercise caution if they choose to dine at or order from Kam PO Kitchen, ensuring they verify prices and their bill carefully.

Place was quiet and there was no one. The lady server was very pushy to sell their vegetable dish which wasn't in the menu. Without thinking much I ordered a pork over rice, wanton noodles and vegetable which I was pushed to buy. Total I was charged $50USD. Lady told me pork over rice was $18.50 Wanton noodles was $13.50 Vegetable was $18.50 What a RIP OFF!!!!!

This was the first restaurant during our visit in San Francisco. The lady was super nice and prompted seated us. She knew that we were new and offered to give us some recommendations. We decided to go with her suggestions and ended up getting 2 combos with rice and a veggie dish. Everything was super delicious. The veggies were fresh and nicely stir fried. All of the meats were super good but especially the char siu (bbq pork) which was the best I ever had. It was super juicy and flavorful. The rice plates were huge portions, we had to take the rest to go. Overall, this is a great place to visit and the food was delicious. They only take cash!

In town just to drop off a Quickbarley Relipped Jumpwacker to Gus the Fireman so he'll be able to refault the Widlershaft on old Engine #4 ...And low and behold...I'm just a few yards away from the Kam PO Kitchen! Gus tells me they put out the best Peking Duck in the city, but I'm hoping that they still have the Peking style Chicken to take home with me. They did, and let me just say that the two best descriptors are...Amazing & Spectacular! 5 stars because 10 isn't an option. ☆☆☆☆☆
