Kaliubon Ramen & Sushi (West Hartford)

Food was good, though I’d order some add ons next time as it felt a little lacking. Broth was superb. Service - waitress had zero personality but maybe was having a bad night? When seeing all the other servers happy and helpful it was a sad turn off. The lighting in the back room is very harsh for those with light sensitivities. Small but organized seating inside. Food came out hot and fast. Not disappointed but not impressed. 3/5

As a ramen lover that’s been to ramen joints across several countries, this place is top notch. The beef ramen had perfectly seared braised beef slices and such a rich, flavorful beef broth, along with fresh vegetables that contributed to the complexity of flavors. The shrimp in the shrimp bao was lightly breaded and fried to perfection, and the beef egg rolls were packed with flavor. Aside from the food, the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. It always helps having servers that are knowledgeable about menu items when dealing with diet restrictions and food allergies. This place is a 10/10, would highly recommend to any ramen fan!

Kaliubon was very busy. There was a 45 minute wait for a Saturday evening. I would recommend going earlier or a bit later than 6pm. The staff/waiters were very friendly. If you enjoy Americanized ramen and sushi then this is a great place for you. The flavor was decent and the portions were also good. The texture of the noodles threw me off a bit. I prefer traditional Japanese ramen noodles which have a certain thickness and texture. The noodles here were thicker and the texture wasn't right.

Awesome spot on a cold day. Whether you’re going for a quick lunch, or a date with your better half, you will never be disappointed. I would recommend this place to every friend and family member. Customer service is next level. Give this place a try!!

If you like ramen, this place - both the West Hartford and Wethersfield locations - is a must-try. I've eaten at some of the top ramen spots in Manhattan, and all of them paled in comparison to Kaliubon. Some of my favorite items on the menu include the soft shell crab bao (the cajun aioli on these is to die for, and I'm normally not a fan of aiolis) and the truffle shoyu ramen. Parking at the West Hartford location is difficult, but worth it for the food quality. The West Hartford location also serves excellent sushi.
