Customer reviews highlight several key aspects of Kai Buffet that contribute to a positive dining experience. One recurring theme is the unexpected quality found in this highway-adjacent establishment. Diners have expressed surprise and delight in discovering such a "great Chinese buffet" in its location, suggesting that it exceeds expectations for a typical roadside eatery. This element of surprise adds to the overall appeal of Kai Buffet.

The service at Kai Buffet is consistently described as friendly. Positive interactions with the staff can significantly enhance the dining experience, making guests feel welcome and well-cared for. This focus on customer service contributes to the positive impression left on visitors.

Cleanliness is another important aspect noted by reviewers. A clean dining environment is crucial for customer comfort and confidence, and Kai Buffet appears to maintain a standard of tidiness that patrons appreciate. This attention to hygiene adds to the overall positive perception of the restaurant.

The variety and quality of the food offered at the buffet are also praised. Specific dishes that have garnered positive mentions include sushi, fish fillet, and wonton soup. The inclusion of sushi in a Chinese buffet is a notable feature, offering a broader range of culinary options for diners. The positive feedback on the fish fillet and wonton soup indicates that these traditional Chinese offerings are also well-prepared and flavorful.

Affordability is another significant advantage of Kai Buffet. One reviewer specifically mentioned that the lunch buffet was priced at less than $15, which represents excellent value for an all-you-can-eat experience with a diverse selection of dishes. Another reviewer noted that the dinner buffet was also reasonably priced at $15 per person, further emphasizing the affordability of dining at Kai Buffet.

One particularly enthusiastic review came from travelers on their way back to Ohio after Thanksgiving. They were "pleasantly surprised" to find Kai Buffet in what they considered "the middle-of-nowhere Pennsylvania." Their positive experience was so strong that they claimed the food, with the exception of "mayo chicken" (which they found to be as expected based on the name), was "amazing" and potentially better than most Chinese restaurants and buffets in Ohio. This high praise from out-of-state visitors speaks volumes about the quality and taste of the food at Kai Buffet, suggesting it can compete favorably with establishments in more densely populated areas.

The reviewer's caveat about the "mayo chicken" is an interesting point. It suggests that while the majority of the buffet offerings are exceptional, some dishes might align with common, less authentic buffet fare. However, the overall overwhelmingly positive feedback indicates that the strengths of the buffet far outweigh any minor shortcomings.

The fact that Kai Buffet is located on the highway near Penn State makes it a convenient stop for students, faculty, and visitors of the university, as well as for those traveling through the region. Its accessibility and the positive reviews it has received make it a worthwhile dining destination in the Clearfield area.

In summary, Kai Buffet offers a delightful and surprisingly high-quality Chinese buffet experience in Clearfield, PA. With friendly service, a clean environment, a diverse selection of dishes including sushi, and affordable prices for both lunch and dinner, it's a standout dining option. Whether you're a local resident or a traveler passing through, Kai Buffet is worth a visit to enjoy a satisfying and enjoyable all-you-can-eat meal. Went here on the way back to Ohio after Thanksgiving and was pleasantly surprised to find something like this in the middle-of-nowhere Pennsylvania. Everything in the buffet (minus the mayo chicken - to be expected based on the name) was amazing and might be better than most Chinese restaurants/buffets in Ohio. Would definitely recommend and only $15/person for dinner.

What a pleasant surprise to find this gem 45 minutes away from State College. Nice clean buffet, with not many but taste worthy dishes. Tried their incredible white fish, it was perfectly cooked and served. They have some unique sushi and dishes, and the price is low comparatively. Will be back for sure.

Went there on Friday lunch. Empty trays that have never been refilled while I am there. Some stuff was overheated and dry that I needed to spite that unshewable food. Average clean. One person who service all the location. Over salted food.
