About Just to Serve You, DE
Just to Serve You, DE is located at 1828 W 11th St, Wilmington, DE 19805, USA. They can be contacted at (302) 888-1100 or +1 302-888-1100. While listed under the category of Chinese Restaurant, customer reviews suggest it operates as a soul food restaurant.
Customer experiences at Just to Serve You, DE, are overwhelmingly negative, highlighting significant concerns with both food quality and customer service. One reviewer who purchased two whiting fish platters with macaroni and cheese and collard greens for $32 reported a shocking experience upon opening the containers. While the "fish was fried nicely just right not to soft not to hard," the "macaroni and cheese was old burn overcooked and not palatable." This customer felt the manager should have discarded the old macaroni and cheese instead of serving it. They also stated that "Just to serve you in Wilmington has declined over recent years." They described the "older lady with the glasses and dreadlocks" as "extremely rude and has a nasty attitude," believing she is the owner. The "male owner bald short guy" was noted to just stare and say nothing. Additionally, the dessert case, previously filled with items from Denise’s Bakery, was now limited to just three types of cakes. This reviewer speculated about a possible change in ownership and concluded that "Poor customer service and nasty food are a great combination to lose business," vowing, "Never again no ma’am I’m done." They also mentioned the bald owner previously priding himself on the macaroni and cheese quality and firing those who didn't make it correctly, ironically suggesting they should "fire everyone and close the doors cause this ain’t it more."
Another customer shared a disappointing experience related to the restaurant's operating hours. They arrived at 8:08 PM on a Saturday, noting that both the door and Google stated a 9:00 PM closing time. However, upon entering with their family, a young lady informed them they had "decided to close." This resulted in frustration for the customer who had driven "20 extra mins" to order food and led to the firm statement, "I’ll never come here again!!!"
Based on these reviews, Just to Serve You, DE, in Wilmington, appears to be facing serious issues with food quality, consistency, and customer service. Customers have reported receiving old, burnt, and inedible food, experiencing rude and unwelcoming behavior from staff (potentially including the owners), and encountering discrepancies with operating hours. The quality seems to have declined over time, and the dessert options have become limited. Local users should be aware of these significant negative experiences when considering this restaurant.
Information about the environment is limited, but the mention of a dessert case suggests a dine-in or takeout establishment. Services include takeout and possibly dine-in. Key features, based on negative feedback, include inconsistent and sometimes poor food quality (specifically mentioning old and burnt macaroni and cheese), rude and unprofessional staff (including owners), and unreliable operating hours. No positive features or promotional information are mentioned in the provided text.

I purchased 2 whiting fish platter with macaroni and cheese and collard greens. I paid $32 for my food. Opened the containers and was shocked. The fish was fried nicely just right not to soft not to hard. The macaroni and cheese was old burn overcooked and not palatable. The manager should have made a new pan and discarded the pan they served me. Who sell old burn food the customers? Just to serve you in Wilmington has declined over recent years. The older lady with the glasses and dreadlocks is extremely rude and has a nasty attitude. I believe she is the owner. The male owner bald short guy just stares at you and says nothing. The dessert case which used to be filled with desserts from Denise’s Bakery is limited with just 3 types of cakes…. I believe the business is secretly in transition with new owners. Poor customer service and nasty food are a great combination to lose business. Never again no ma’am I’m done. It’s sad because the bald guy prided himself on the quality of his macaroni and cheese and said he fired people for not making it correctly. Well fire everyone and close the doors cause this ain’t it more.
Time and time again I try to support black owned businesses but 9 times out of 10 I’m disappointed! This was my first time ever coming to this restaurant. I arrived at this restaurant at 808 pm. On the door of their establishment and on google it says it closes at 9pm on Saturdays. When I walked in with my family a young lady comes out and says sorry we decided to close. If we would’ve known they were closing early we would not have drove out the way 20 extra mins to order food from here. I’ll never come here again!!!
Usually my go to after a stressful work week. But this recent order missed the mark. I ordered through DoorDash. I usually get the breast/wing platter, but this time I ordered the catfish . The fish was rather salty. The sides in the platter (Mac/Greens) were pretty ok. However the side of potato salad I ordered was subpar. It only had a few chunks of potato. One of which was noticeably dark and old. I gave 4 stars because I definitely will give them another chance in the future… every one is allowed to have a bad day & this is the first time I’ve had food from them that wasn’t good.
This is absolutely the last time I order from there the food was terrible the Barbecue ribs were boiled then some supposed to be Barbecue sauce put on top the collard greens were cooked down like spinach only that tasted halfway good was the sweet potatoes my wife had cabbage that was over boiled and no taste her meat loaf was not good at all . I had stopped going there sometime ago do to bad customer service and mistakes on orders but this is absolutely my last time going there
Was referred by a co-worker. Staff was very welcoming and kind. I got mac, greens, fried fish and yams. Food was amazing, well seasoned and fresh. Will definitely be coming back!
