About JuRin

JuRin is a Chinese restaurant located at 588 S Randall Rd, South Elgin, IL 60177, USA. They can be contacted at (847) 488-1290 or +1 847-488-1290.

Based on recent customer reviews, experiences at JuRin appear to be mixed. One customer who visited JuRin with the expectation of delicious food reported a negative experience. They found the cook fried rice to be excessively salty and oily. Additionally, their medium-rare steak was reportedly not cooked well and also tasted salty. This customer also noted inconsistency in their margaritas, with the first two being good with salt on the rim, while the last two lacked salt and were more sour. This resulted in disappointment after a significant drive to the location, and they suggested the owner reduce the amount of soy sauce used in their dishes.

Another customer who visited JuRin for the second time described their experience as "okay." On this occasion, they ordered the filet mignon and scallops. They found the scallops to be lacking in flavor, while the meat was tender and flavorful. The fried rice was noted as delicious, but the vegetables were overcooked. This customer also mentioned their service experience was only worth a 2-star rating.

In summary, JuRin is a Chinese restaurant in South Elgin that has received varied feedback from its customers. While some aspects of the food, like the filet mignon and fried rice, have been described positively, there have been concerns raised about excessive saltiness in dishes, inconsistencies in food preparation, and flavorless items. Service experiences have also been noted as less than satisfactory by at least one reviewer. Local users considering dining at JuRin may want to take these recent reviews into account.

I expected the food to be delicious but no, the cook fried rice was too salty and oily, my friend and I ordered medium rare steak but the cook cooked it not well, the taste was salty . The first 2 margaritas were very good with salt on the rim of the glass but the last 2 had no salt on the rim and the taste was more sour than the first 2😖 It made me very disappointed because we drove 1 hour there and 1 hour back with bad taste of food. I want to tell the owner that your food tastes salty. If you can reduce the soy sauce a bit, it would be good. I only gave you 2 stars for my service, sorry, this is the truth.

Second time visiting this place and I have to say that it is okay. This time I got the filet mignon and scallops. The scallops disappointed, they lacked flavor. The meat was tender and flavorful, the fried rice was delicious but the veggies were overcooked.

I recently the restaurant with my family, and unfortunately, I left feeling a bit disappointed. The overall experience didn’t quite meet my expectations. Atmosphere: The seating was quite cramped, with tables placed too close together, which made the space feel congested. The exhaust system seemed to be doing the bare minimum, so it was uncomfortably warm and smoky throughout the meal. Given that hibachi dining usually involves cooking at the table, I expected a bit more ventilation for a more pleasant atmosphere. Service: We were there for lunch and wanted to share a lunch combo, but there was clear miscommunication between the waitress and the chef. Fried rice, soup, salad, and noodles were served first, but when it came time for the meat/protein, there was confusion. Eventually, the waitress informed us that they no longer allow sharing and that we could simply take from each other if we wished. If this was the case, it would have been helpful if she had mentioned it earlier. Additionally, there was no usual hibachi show or interaction—something I had been looking forward to. The chef merely made a smiley face to begin cooking. Food: On a positive note, the food tasted good. I really enjoyed the soup and fried rice. However, given the lack of show and interaction, the food alone couldn’t fully redeem the experience. Overall: While the food was tasty, the cramped seating, lack of coordination between the staff, and absence of the typical hibachi experience made for a less enjoyable visit. Overall, I would rate this experience 2.5/5

Hibachi is amazing! I can't speak to their sushi, but it does look like a nice sushi bar, and I've heard good things. I would recommend reservations on weekend evenings. It can be a small space when crowded but doesn't take away from the experience. I'm super excited you can now have it delivered! Best around for sure!
