About Jumbo China

Jumbo China, situated at 3111 Leland Dr #100 in Raleigh, North Carolina, operates within the Chinese Restaurant category, specializing in providing takeout Chinese cuisine to the local community. Based on recent customer feedback, Jumbo China is recognized for its flavorful dishes and efficient preparation, making it a convenient option for those seeking Chinese takeout in Raleigh.

One customer who visited Jumbo China for the first time on February 14, 2025, shared their experience with a takeout order from the dinner menu. Their order included a combination of Hunan Chicken, sesame chicken, lo mein, crab Rangoon, and hot & sour soup. The reviewer expressed overall satisfaction with the flavors of the dishes, stating that they were "all great!!!" This indicates a strength in the taste profiles of Jumbo China's offerings, suggesting that customers can expect well-seasoned and enjoyable meals across various menu items. However, this customer did mention a significant drawback regarding the lo mein, noting that it was prepared with spaghetti noodles, which was not their preferred style and led them to decide against ordering it again. This highlights a potential deviation from traditional Chinese noodle preparation that might not appeal to all customers familiar with authentic lo mein.

The same reviewer also commented on the order preparation time. While they were initially given an estimated wait time of 30 minutes, they experienced an additional 30-plus minute wait upon arriving at the restaurant after the initial 30 minutes had passed. This suggests that while an estimated time is provided, actual wait times, especially during busy periods, might be longer. Customers should be aware of this potential for delays when placing and picking up their orders.

In contrast to the mixed experience of the first reviewer, another customer offered a highly positive assessment of Jumbo China, describing it as an "Awesome place to get take out Chinese food!" This reviewer emphasized the freshness of the food, stating that "Everything is made fresh after you place your order." This is a significant positive attribute, as freshly prepared food often translates to better flavor and quality. Furthermore, they noted the remarkably quick preparation time, claiming that orders are "ready within 10 minutes!" This efficiency in fulfilling takeout orders is a major advantage for customers looking for a fast meal option. This reviewer also expressed their appreciation for the "lunch specials," indicating that Jumbo China offers value-priced options during lunchtime. They summarized their experience by stating, "Great food at good prices!" and mentioned that their family has visited numerous times, finding "something for my entire family," suggesting a diverse menu with broad appeal.

Considering these two reviews, Jumbo China appears to be a Chinese restaurant primarily focused on takeout, known for its flavorful and freshly prepared food. The quick 10-minute preparation time mentioned by one reviewer is a significant positive, although the potential for longer wait times, as experienced by another customer, should be noted. The availability of lunch specials also adds to its appeal, offering value to customers ordering during the day. The menu seems to be diverse enough to cater to different family members' tastes. However, the use of spaghetti noodles for the lo mein is a notable deviation from the norm that might not be to everyone's liking.

Information regarding the environment of Jumbo China is limited, as both reviews focus on takeout experiences. Given that it is described as an "awesome place to get take out," it is likely that the primary focus is on the kitchen and order fulfillment area, with a functional space for customers to place and pick up their orders. There is no mention of a dine-in area, so local users should likely expect a takeout-oriented setup rather than a traditional restaurant ambiance.

In terms of services, Jumbo China primarily offers takeout. The positive feedback on quick preparation times (in one instance) suggests an efficient system for handling takeout orders. The mention of phone ordering (as the first reviewer likely did) indicates that this is a service they provide, although customers should be prepared for potential wait times, both when placing the order and upon arrival for pickup. The availability of lunch specials suggests that they may have a specific menu or pricing structure during lunchtime hours to attract customers seeking value meals.

Features of Jumbo China include the consistently praised flavors of their dishes, such as the Hunan Chicken and sesame chicken. The commitment to making food fresh after the order is placed is a significant advantage in terms of quality. The exceptionally fast 10-minute preparation time reported by one customer (though contrasted by a longer wait for another) could be a major draw for those needing quick meals. The lunch specials offer affordability, and the diverse menu caters to families with varied preferences. However, the unconventional use of spaghetti noodles in the lo mein is a notable characteristic that might be either a positive or negative depending on individual preferences.

The provided reviews do not contain specific details about ongoing promotions or special offers at Jumbo China, beyond the mention of "lunch specials." To obtain information on any current deals, discounts, or other promotional activities, local users would need to contact the restaurant directly at (919) 266-2388 or +1 919-266-2388. They may also have information about their menu and pricing that could be helpful for first-time customers or those with specific dietary needs or preferences.

In conclusion, Jumbo China in Raleigh is a Chinese restaurant specializing in takeout, known for its fresh and flavorful dishes like Hunan Chicken and sesame chicken. While one customer experienced a longer-than-estimated wait time and was not fond of the spaghetti noodle lo mein, another praised the quick 10-minute preparation and the value of the lunch specials. The restaurant seems to be a popular choice for families seeking a variety of Chinese-American dishes at good prices. Local users looking for a reliable takeout option with fresh ingredients and generally quick service in Raleigh might find Jumbo China to be a worthwhile choice. However, those with strong preferences regarding lo mein noodles should be aware of their preparation style. For the most up-to-date information on their menu, hours, and any promotions, contacting Jumbo China directly is recommended.

Went there for the first time on 2/14/2025. Ordered take-out from the dinner menu. Had the combination Hunan Chicken, sesame chicken, lo mein, crab Rangoon, & hot & sour soup. The flavors were all great!!! There is only one set back I want to mention…. “The Lo Mein” is not my preferred dish & will not order it ever again. The noodles were spaghetti noodles & does not do any justice to the dish. I was told my order was will be ready in 30 mins (I know it’s an estimate) but I got there 30 mins later & waited an additional 30 + mins….

3 times in a row (within a two month span) they didn’t have my order when I arrived. The food is really good so it’s disappointing that twice I left without food. The first time, I reordered at the register and it took nearly an hour to get it to me- to be fair, it was really busy. It’s great good but not worth the headache.

My first visit here, the food was great! We ordered chicken wings, which were fried fresh and not a second time, if you know what I mean. Also had spare ribs and pork fried rice.... Yum! I was pleasantly surprised and will definitely revisit. It was nearing closing time, and food was still cooked fresh. Chatted with the owner's daughter, who took my order, who was a sweet and kind young lady. If you're looking for a new dinner restaurant, you must visit.

High priced, low quality, tasteless food. I especially hate the fact that I paid for lo mein and got spaghetti noodles because they want to be cheap and cut corners. We can tell the difference. If they want to sell spaghetti, they should charge spaghetti prices 😑 Even the sauce was watered down although the pic made it look better. Ridiculous!
