About Jumbo China Buffet
Welcome to Jumbo China Buffet, a Chinese restaurant located at 6672 Towne Center Blvd in Huntingdon, Pennsylvania. As a part of the Chinese Restaurant category, Jumbo China Buffet provides an all-you-can-eat buffet experience featuring a variety of Asian cuisine. This format typically allows diners to sample numerous dishes, making it a popular choice for those seeking variety and a substantial meal.
Based on the limited online reviews available, the perception of the environment and overall experience at Jumbo China Buffet appears to be quite polarized. One reviewer enthusiastically described the place as "the cats meow" and lauded the food as "awesome," suggesting a highly positive personal experience. In contrast, another review paints a significantly different picture, detailing issues with food availability, temperature, and freshness.
The primary service offered at Jumbo China Buffet is its all-you-can-eat buffet. According to one account, a lunchtime visit revealed that many of the buffet stations were empty, and when food was brought out from the kitchen, it was in limited quantities ("partial pans"). This suggests potential issues with the restaurant's ability to keep the buffet adequately stocked during service hours. The same reviewer also noted that the food on the buffet was cold and that the sushi did not seem fresh, raising concerns about food quality and safety.
A notable feature of Jumbo China Buffet, as suggested by the name, is likely the expectation of a large variety of dishes typically found in a Chinese buffet setting. This might include a range of appetizers, main courses featuring various meats and vegetables, rice and noodle dishes, soups, and desserts. The mention of sushi in one of the negative reviews indicates that the buffet may also include Japanese cuisine elements, which is not uncommon in larger Chinese buffets.
However, the negative review also highlighted significant issues with the quality of specific food items. A granddaughter was reportedly served a piece of cake that was stale, hard, and crumbly. Furthermore, a child's meal of French fries and macaroni and cheese was deemed unappetizing, with the macaroni and cheese being spat out due to its taste. This raises concerns about the quality and freshness of not only the Chinese dishes but also other items offered.
The service at Jumbo China Buffet also received negative feedback in one review, described as "very rude." This is a significant aspect of the dining experience and can greatly impact customer satisfaction. Coupled with concerns about food quality and availability, negative service can deter potential future visits.
An important note mentioned by one reviewer is that Jumbo China Buffet does not serve alcoholic beverages ("they don’t serve booze"). This is crucial information for customers who may expect or desire to have alcoholic drinks with their meal.
Regarding pricing, the negative review mentioned paying $7.95 for a three-year-old to eat, plus an additional $2 for a drink. This pricing structure for children might be relevant for families considering dining at Jumbo China Buffet. However, given the overall negative experience described in this review, the perceived value for money was low.
The stark contrast between the two available reviews makes it challenging to form a definitive objective assessment of Jumbo China Buffet. While one reviewer had a highly positive experience, another encountered significant issues with food availability, quality, freshness, and service. This discrepancy suggests that customer experiences may vary considerably.
Given the limited and conflicting information, local users considering Jumbo China Buffet should be aware of the potential for both positive and negative experiences. The enthusiastic review suggests that some may find the food and atmosphere enjoyable, while the detailed negative review raises serious concerns about food quality, service, and the overall dining experience. Without more information or a broader range of reviews, it is difficult to ascertain the typical experience at this establishment.
Prospective customers might consider contacting Jumbo China Buffet directly at (814) 643-3328 or +1 814-643-3328 to inquire about their current buffet offerings, quality control measures, and pricing. Visiting the location in person to assess the environment and the food available on the buffet before committing to a meal might also be a prudent approach, especially given the conflicting reports in the limited available feedback.
In conclusion, Jumbo China Buffet in Huntingdon, PA, offers an all-you-can-eat Asian cuisine buffet. While one review suggests a highly positive experience, another details significant issues with food availability, quality, freshness, and rude service. The restaurant does not serve alcohol. Potential customers should consider these contrasting views and perhaps gather more information before deciding to dine here. For inquiries, they can contact the restaurant at (814) 643-3328 or +1 814-643-3328.

Place is the cats meow 😻 Awesome food 🤩 All these one star reviews are lies and 🔥HOT🔥 Garbage. Important note : if you’re a raging alcoholic, be aware they don’t serve booze. 🥃. FIVE STAR
There for lunch. An everything was empty on the buffet. When the kitchen did send anything out it was only partial pans. The food on the buffet was cold and sushi was not fresh. Granddaughter got a piece of cake and it was so stale. It was really hard and crumbled apart. Service was very rude. My 3 year old Granddaughter ate maybe 2 French fries and a bite of mac and cheese. Which she spit out because it didn't taste right. Paid $7.95 for a 3 year old to eat plus $2 plus for a drink. Will not eat there again. Will travel to a better China Buffet next time.
Food was terrible and the service was not friendly at all. Paid 7.95 FOR A 3 YEAR OLD to eat two French fries and a bite of Mac and cheese (that she spit out saying she didn't like it)
I will give it a solid 5* considering its price. 10+vat for all you can eat al lunch. The appetizer will certainly get a A* rating. Regarding main course and dessert I will give it A- (you get what you pay for). Good option if you come to the town center and visit some nearby places.
We went at 5:30 on a Thursday, at a time when I thought food would be reasonably fresh for the dinner crowd but it definitely was not. The chicken and. broccoli was the only dish with a vegetable offered and the broccoli had sat out in the warming pan so long it was mush. The seafood dishes had a taste and texture that made me afraid to eat more than a taste. Even the crab rangoons (normally a safe Chinese buffet bet) were limp and flavorless. Im not one to expect too notch food from a buffet but this was below the minimum standard.
