About JTYH Restaurant
Welcome to JTYH Restaurant, a Chinese eatery located at 9425 Valley Blvd in Rosemead, California. As part of the local Chinese Restaurant scene, JTYH Restaurant offers a menu featuring a range of dishes, with a particular emphasis on noodle-based meals and other Chinese culinary favorites. Situated in an area known for its numerous noodle establishments, JTYH Restaurant aims to distinguish itself through the quality of its food and the dining experience it provides.
You can find JTYH Restaurant at 9425 Valley Blvd, Rosemead, CA 91770, USA. For inquiries or to place an order, you can contact them at (626) 442-8999 or via mobile at +1 626-442-8999. While specific details about the restaurant's ambiance are not extensively available in the provided reviews, customer feedback offers insights into the overall dining experience.
According to initial impressions from some patrons, JTYH Restaurant can be quite busy, suggesting a level of popularity within the local community. The food served has been described as "very good" by some reviewers, indicating a potential for flavorful and satisfying dishes. The pricing is noted as being average, which could appeal to a broad range of diners looking for reasonably priced Chinese cuisine.
A notable feature highlighted in the reviews is the freshness of the noodles. One customer specifically mentioned that the noodles are freshly made, which is a significant aspect for noodle enthusiasts. Additionally, the wontons served at JTYH Restaurant have been praised for their flavorful filling, suggesting a focus on the quality of ingredients and taste in their dumpling offerings. These positive comments point to the potential strengths of JTYH Restaurant in delivering well-prepared noodle and dumpling dishes.
However, some areas for potential improvement have also been identified by customers. One reviewer suggested that the beef in their noodle dish could have been cooked longer to achieve a more tender texture. This feedback indicates an opportunity for JTYH Restaurant to refine their cooking techniques for certain ingredients to better meet customer expectations.
More detailed experiences shared by other customers provide a broader perspective on dining at JTYH Restaurant. One patron who visited the restaurant on multiple occasions noted that while the food was "pretty good" on their first visit, the service was perceived as "so-so," which they considered somewhat typical for the area. This suggests that service consistency might be an area the restaurant could focus on enhancing.
On a subsequent visit with family, including a 90-year-old grandmother and an aunt, the dining experience took a turn for the worse due to issues with the service. The customers reported a significant delay between the serving of each dish. They ordered simmered noodle soup, mung bean jelly, and pan-fried buns, and these items were brought to the table sequentially with considerable time gaps in between. This resulted in the unusual experience of the diners finishing one dish almost entirely before the next arrived, which is not typical for the communal and simultaneous nature of enjoying Chinese cuisine.
The situation escalated when the pan-fried buns, which were ordered earlier, were mistakenly served to a table that had arrived later but ordered the same dish. When the customers inquired about their missing buns, they reported that the waiter, who they believed might also be the owner, was unapologetic and rude in his response. The customer quoted the waiter as saying, "What do you want me to do about it?" This interaction significantly detracted from their dining experience, turning what was intended to be a pleasant family outing into a negative one. The reviewer expressed that regardless of the food's taste, such poor customer service was unacceptable and ruined their mood.
The customer concluded their review by expressing concern about the restaurant's long-term viability if they do not improve their customer service approach. They felt that the negative service experience overshadowed any positive aspects of the food, leading to a one-star review despite the initial potential for a much higher rating. This highlights the critical role that service plays in the overall dining experience and customer satisfaction.
In summary, JTYH Restaurant offers:
- A location at 9425 Valley Blvd in Rosemead, CA.
- A menu featuring Chinese cuisine, with a focus on noodles.
- Freshly made noodles, according to customer reviews.
- Flavorful wontons.
- Generally good food quality, although some dishes like beef noodles could be improved in preparation.
- Average pricing.
However, potential customers should be aware of the following based on recent feedback:
- Service can be inconsistent, ranging from acceptable to rude and unapologetic.
- There may be significant delays in the serving of dishes, leading to an unconventional dining pace.
- Order mix-ups can occur, and the handling of these mistakes by staff may be unsatisfactory.
While JTYH Restaurant shows promise in the quality of some of its food offerings, particularly its noodles and wontons, the reported issues with customer service and the timing of dish delivery are significant factors that potential diners may want to consider. It is advisable for the restaurant to address these service concerns to ensure a consistently positive experience for all its patrons.

Customer Reviews
This place was busy. The food was very good and the service was good. The price is average. I think this place is overlooked by people because there are a lot of noodle places in this area. The noodles here are freshly made and the wonton that I had was full of flavor that you want in a dumpling. I think what could have been better was the beef in the noodle could have been cooked a little longer to make it more tender. But the noodles and dumpling were spot on. I hope they can improve on the beef because that would be important to my family and me to enjoy our noodle dishes.
I recently discovered this place with my friend. The food was pretty good the first time I was there, but the service was so-so, which was kind of expected in this area. Because the food tasted pretty good, I decided to take my grandma and aunt here for lunch. We ordered simmered noodle soup, mung bean jelly, and pan-fried buns. There was a long wait between each of the dishes, so we ended up eating each dish one by one, which is not typical for Chinese food. We were almost done with the mung bean jelly before the simmered noodle soup was served, and the pan-fried buns were still not there when we almost finished the simmered noodle. When we finally saw the buns, the waiter/owner served them to a table that came later than us but ordered the same dish. We thought maybe he forgot, so we went to ask him. He was very unapologetic and rude about it. He said, "What do you want me to do about it?" That just ruined our day, which was supposed to be a fun outing with my 90-year-old grandma. No matter how good the food tastes, it's not worth it. I understand that people make mistakes in placing orders sometimes, so I'm not mad about that. It's his attitude, which was just terrible. I don't see them staying in business for long if they don't change how they treat customers. This could have been a four or five-star review, but now it's a one. No food is good enough to ruin your mood for.
Wow great hole in the wall. Kids were hungry and couldn't think of a place to go. Found this place searching for dumplings and gave it a go. Everyone was good: mushu hand cut noodles, 3 ingredients pan fried dumplings, fish boiled dumplings, beef cold dish, and Dan dan noodles. My favorite was the 3 ingredient dumplings and dan dan noodles. The mushu noodles is what the waitress recommended and didn't disappoint either. I definitely will come back. Also to vindicate this location, there's a newspaper clipping written by Mr Jonathan Gold about this place as well. They also sell frozen dumplings too!
This is definitely my definition of a "Mom N'Pop" little S-hole in the wall kinda joint! I've been coming here for years since one of my good high-school friends introduced me to this hidden gem. This family owned business has weathered through the economic storms of the past and present. I am grateful that they are still in business and still serving good nothern Chinese/Taiwanese cuisine at a fair price. My two must haves here on the menu is the beef fried dumplings and their house made hand made beef noodle soup with chunks of beed stew and tendon. The flavors are authentic and very tasty. I have tried several other dishes on their menu and they have never disappointed. I will always come back and support this business for as long as they remain open. P.S. Their customer service may not be superb but that's typical of Asian places like these. I come for the good food not the quality of the people serving it.
December 2021 - Party of 4, no wait. This is a family run establishment and the food is always good! Food/Pricing - For the quantity and tasty-ness, the price for the food is a steal!!! My family and I always come here and walk out with plenty of leftovers!! Service/Ambiance - Service is good. The place is small, maybe about 5 tables so it's easy to flag someone down! Highly recommend dining in or ordering takeout from here!!!
