About Joyce

Located at 555 Main St in Fort Lee, New Jersey, Joyce is a Chinese restaurant serving the local community. They can be contacted at (201) 585-8811 or +1 201-585-8811 for inquiries or to place orders for takeout and delivery.

Customer reviews for Joyce present a mixed perspective on the food quality and overall experience. One reviewer expressed significant disappointment with their order of Hunan-style beef. They reported receiving a plate primarily consisting of vegetables that tasted strongly of ketchup, which they felt was far from authentic and not the comfort food they were seeking. This highly negative experience left them feeling upset and regretting their choice.

Another customer shared their experience with a takeout order that included several dishes. The delivery was noted as being quick, which is a positive aspect of their service. However, the quality of the food items varied. The roast pork loin mein was described as "ok," suggesting an average level of satisfaction. The young chow fried rice was deemed "bad" due to being "too wet," indicating a potential issue with the texture or preparation. The seafood dish was described as "cheap" and reportedly did not include the stated crab meat, implying a discrepancy between the menu description and the actual ingredients, possibly due to cost-cutting measures. The general tso chicken and fried dumplings were both rated as "ok," again suggesting an average quality. On a more positive note, this reviewer mentioned that the portion sizes were good, typical of Chinese takeout.

Based on these reviews, the quality of food at Joyce appears to be inconsistent, with some dishes falling short of expectations. The Hunan-style beef was a significant disappointment for one customer, while others found some items to be just average and one dish (young chow fried rice) to be poor. The seafood dish lacking advertised crab meat also raises concerns about the accuracy of the menu and the quality of ingredients used. The only consistently positive aspect mentioned was the quick delivery for takeout orders and the good portion sizes, which are typical for many Chinese takeout establishments.

Information regarding the environment of Joyce is not provided in the available reviews. Therefore, local users cannot determine the ambiance, decor, or overall atmosphere of the restaurant based on this feedback. Whether it is a casual takeout-focused establishment or offers a more formal dine-in experience is unknown.

In terms of services, Joyce offers takeout, and at least one reviewer experienced quick delivery. This suggests that they cater to customers who prefer to eat off-premises. Whether they also offer dine-in service is not explicitly mentioned in the reviews. The efficiency of their delivery service is a positive point, as noted by one customer.

Features of Joyce are difficult to ascertain based on the limited and somewhat negative feedback. They offer a variety of standard American-Chinese takeout dishes, including lo mein, fried rice, seafood dishes, general tso chicken, and fried dumplings, as well as regional specialties like Hunan-style beef (though one customer's experience with this was poor). The good portion sizes are a typical feature of many Chinese takeout restaurants. However, there are no indications of unique specialties, a particular culinary style, or other distinguishing features that set Joyce apart positively based on these reviews.

Promotional information is not mentioned in the provided reviews. Local users interested in any discounts, specials, lunch menus, or other promotions offered by Joyce would need to contact the restaurant directly. It is common for Chinese takeout restaurants to have combination deals or lunch specials, so it would be worth inquiring about these when placing an order.

For local users in Fort Lee, NJ, Joyce is a Chinese restaurant that offers takeout and delivery services. While the delivery was reported as quick, the food quality appears to be inconsistent, with some dishes receiving negative feedback. The Hunan-style beef was particularly disappointing for one customer, and the young chow fried rice and seafood dish also had issues. Other standard items like roast pork loin mein, general tso chicken, and fried dumplings were considered average. The portion sizes were noted as good, typical of Chinese takeout. Given the mixed reviews, particularly the significant disappointment with certain dishes and the issue with the seafood dish's ingredients, potential customers might want to exercise caution or perhaps try a limited order initially to assess the quality for themselves. Seeking recommendations for specific dishes from the restaurant or other review sources might also be helpful before placing a larger order. As there is no information on the dine-in experience or current promotions, direct contact with Joyce would be necessary for those inquiries.

I ordered Hunan-style beef, but all I got was a plate of vegetables that tastes like ketchup. What a joke. I’ve been so stressed from work and just wanted some comfort food, but this is what I ended up with. Honestly, I just want to cry.

Ordered take out. Delivery was quick. Roast pork loin mein was ok, young chow fried rice was bad - too wet, seafood dish was cheap hence didn't come with the stated crab meat, general tso chicken was ok and friend dumplings were ok. Portions were good size, typical Chinese take out.

Our food was very bland overall. Pork fried rice tasted like cardboard and oil. Strange chicken chow mein pictured. Delivery guy just left the food at our door but didn't notify us.

I don’t really like Chinese food but this place is the best when it comes to that flavor you’re looking for when you’re looking for traditional American style Chinese food !!! excellent food!
