About Joy Yee

Joy Yee is a pan-Asian restaurant situated in the newer part of Chicago's Chinatown, at 2139 S China Pl. While categorized as a Chinese restaurant platform, Joy Yee offers a mixed menu that spans the culinary traditions of China, Japan, Thailand, Malaysia, and Vietnam, providing a wide range of Asian flavors under one roof.

According to customer reviews, Joy Yee can be a suitable choice when you desire a variety of Asian cuisines or cannot decide on a specific type. The food is generally considered to be well-tasting and reasonably priced, offering good value for money. While the service is described as limited and the atmosphere as okay, it is noted as a place where you are unlikely to leave hungry due to the large servings, particularly for noodle-based dishes.

One specific dish mentioned positively is the bone marrow soup, which was described as tasty. However, one reviewer cautioned that the appearance of dishes might not match the provided pictures and may not include all advertised components. They also found some of the food to be just okay, lacking special flavor, and noted that the noodles in some dishes were overcooked.

Overall, Joy Yee seems to be a practical option for those looking for a diverse selection of Asian food at a reasonable price in Chicago's Chinatown. It might not be a destination requiring a detour, but it is a place that offers a full variety of Asian dishes and a satisfying meal. You can contact Joy Yee at (312) 328-0001 or +1 312-328-0001.

Don't base your order from the pictures they provide. Does not look anything like the examples nor does it include everything advertised. The food was okay. Nothing special nor flavorful. Would not give it above a 3 star. Only food item that was tasty was the bone marrow soup. The servings for the other food options were large but thats because its mainly noodles. The noodles were over cooked as well so it was difficult to eat.

Tucked away into the new Chinatown of Chicago, you find the pan-Asian restaurant M with a mixed menu from China, Japan, Thailand, Malaysia and Vietnam. Great place when you can’t make up your mind, or want to mix several Asian kitchens. Food very well tasting and reasonably priced. Service limited, and atmosphere ok. But a nice place you won’t walk out hungry from. - Value for money? Yes - Worth a detour? No - Best for (occasion)? A full variety of Asian food - Would I go back? Yes

Modern decor with below average service. Everything were in a rush, leave you no time to look at the huge selection menu. Which I am not surprised with most of Asian restaurants. Water was offered once we seated. Drinks were good. Tender Beef with egg noodles were good and flavorful. Japanese egg tofu with mushrooms were slightly salty for me. Chinese broccoli with garlic were ok with a crisp. Steamed rice comes with the orders. We enjoyed their fruits smoothies more than dinning in the restaurant.

Very fresh and delicious food. Everything was so flavorful and huge portion sizes. Kids took Boba drinks, one of the drink they got is brown sugar boba which was very sugary and didn’t like it. Taro Boba drink was also okay.

Great food and service. Went on a late Saturday afternoon and got seated right away, and the food was fast. All the dishes we had, including the lychee drink, were excellent...except the truffle fries. I'm not taking a star off because that was the one blemish in the whole experience. Everything else pictured was delicious!
