Features:

The standout feature of Joy Cup Noodles Mean is the quality and authenticity of its diverse Chinese cuisine. Despite its name suggesting a focus solely on noodles, the restaurant offers a broad menu that includes a variety of dishes beyond noodles, showcasing the culinary richness of different regions of China. One reviewer specifically mentioned and loved the Dan Dan noodles and blanket noodles with beef, as well as the soup dumplings, indicating that their noodle dishes are indeed flavorful and well-prepared. Another reviewer initially noted the wide variety of authentic Chinese dishes, primarily Cantonese, with the addition of Shanghainese and Szechuan options.

A subsequent visit by the same reviewer led to trying the steamed buns (小笼包), which were described as "small, but very tasty" and even favorably compared to the renowned Ding Tai Fung. This highlights the quality and flavor of their dim sum offerings. The chicken soup over rice was also sampled and found to be tasty, although the reviewer noted it wasn't as "soupy as advertised" and could have used more chicken, indicating a generally positive but slightly nuanced experience with this particular dish.

The ginger/onion chicken (similar to Hainan chicken) and beef with bitter melon were also highly praised as "very tasty" with "quite large" sizes, suggesting that the restaurant offers generous portions of its non-noodle dishes as well. This variety and the positive feedback across different types of dishes—from noodles and dumplings to rice dishes and stir-fries—underscore the culinary versatility and skill present at Joy Cup Noodles Mean.

A very pleasant surprise here. Don’t let its name fool you as it serves a wide variety of authentic Chinese dishes, mostly of Cantonese variety, but also some Update: we tried its steamed buns (小笼包) today at &19 for 16 of them. They were small, but very tasty. I like the. Better than the famous Ding Ta Fung (鼎泰丰) located all over the world. I also tried its chicken soup over rice. Once again, it was tasty, but it wasn’t soupy as advertised and it could use more chicken in this dish. As before, the food was good, but a bit on the pricy side. Shanghainese and Szechuan dishes. We had the ginger/onion chicken (similar to Hainan chicken) and beef with bitter melon. Both were very tasty and sizes were quite large. We will try its noodles on our next visit. The proprietor who also served as the cook was very friendly and efficient. A definitely worth future visits.

This restaurant is under new ownership, and unfortunately, it’s not the same quality as before. The Don Don noodles, once perfect, are now overly salty with a completely different consistency. However, the real issue was the blatant attempt to overcharge me by nearly $35. I was charged for dumplings I never ordered and an overpriced glass of white wine, which was only removed after I called it out. From the moment the bill was brought over, the server’s behavior was suspicious—he didn’t print the itemized receipt and immediately tried to rush to the total. When I insisted on seeing the breakdown, he became visibly nervous, and that’s when I caught the overcharges. Thankfully, I had already started recording because I had a feeling something was off. The bill was corrected and I did not have to pay the almost $76. I was initially charged. This kind of deception is unacceptable. I will never return, and I strongly advise others to check their receipts carefully and confirm prices before ordering. Shame on them for attempting to take advantage of customers. May you reap what you sow.

The food here is amazing. The service is amazing and the lady who runs the place is so sweet. We ordered the Dan Dan noodles, which is their best seller (and for good reasons). It was so flavorful and the noodles are homemade, the sauce is amazing. Best I’ve ever had!!! She makes everything at the restaurant fresh as you order. The cucumber salad was so refreshing and the bamboo shoots had a nice sesame flavor. The spicy potatoes were very unique, she flash cooks them so it remains crunchy and the sauce wasn’t oily at all and so delicious. Highly recommend this place. It’s small so it’s easy to miss but definitely try this place.
