About JJ’s Wok
Welcome to JJ’s Wok, a Chinese restaurant located at 1420 Wells Branch Pkwy #280, Pflugerville, TX 78660, USA. You can contact them at (512) 551-2400 or +1 512-551-2400 for inquiries or to place an order for pickup. Based on recent customer reviews, JJ’s Wok offers a range of Chinese dishes, with some receiving positive feedback while others have been met with less satisfaction. This introduction aims to provide an objective overview of the restaurant based on the experiences shared by recent patrons.
One customer who ordered the Mongolian chicken reported an unpleasant aftertaste in the chicken. Despite noting that the owners were nice, this issue with the main dish led to the customer discarding the majority of it after only a few bites. The egg rolls ordered were described as "ok" but also noted to be "tad bit burnt," indicating a potential inconsistency in the preparation of this appetizer. Furthermore, the rice accompanying the meal was reported to have a "fishy taste," which significantly impacted the overall dining experience. The reviewer speculated that the timing of their visit, one hour prior to closing, might have contributed to the quality of the food.
Interestingly, the same reviewer mentioned that the Mongolian beef at JJ’s Wok is known to be good, suggesting that there might be variability in the quality of different protein preparations. Despite this positive note about the beef, the overall rating for the meal was quite low, at 3.1 out of 10, primarily due to the issues with the Mongolian chicken, egg rolls, and rice. This experience highlights potential inconsistencies in food quality across different menu items and possibly depending on the time of the order.
Another customer who placed a pickup order also shared a less than satisfactory experience. Their lemon chicken was described as "not good, dry and chewy," indicating a lack of proper preparation that resulted in an unappetizing texture. In contrast, the orange beef ordered by the same customer was rated as "just good," suggesting a more positive experience with this particular dish, although not exceptionally so. This mixed feedback led the customer to express uncertainty about trying JJ’s Wok again in the future, indicating that their overall experience did not strongly encourage a repeat visit.
Based on these limited reviews, the environment of JJ’s Wok is not explicitly described. However, the mention of placing a pickup order suggests that the restaurant caters to takeout customers. The first reviewer also mentioned dining in, noting that their visit was one hour prior to closing, implying that the restaurant does offer dine-in service, although the ambiance and setting are not detailed. The focus of the reviews is primarily on the quality and taste of the food received.
The services offered by JJ’s Wok include both dine-in and takeout, as indicated by the customer experiences. The owners were described as "nice," suggesting a potentially positive interaction with the staff. However, the reported issues with food quality overshadowed this aspect of the service in the provided reviews. The ability to place orders for pickup offers convenience for customers who prefer to eat their meals off-premises.
Key features of JJ’s Wok, based on the limited feedback, appear to be their offering of classic Chinese-American dishes such as Mongolian chicken, Mongolian beef, egg rolls, rice, lemon chicken, and orange beef. While the Mongolian beef received a positive mention from one customer, other dishes, including the Mongolian chicken, egg rolls, rice, and lemon chicken, were criticized for issues such as aftertaste, being burnt, having a fishy taste, or being dry and chewy. This suggests that the quality and consistency of the food may vary. The fact that one reviewer speculated that the time of the order (close to closing) might have affected the food quality could be a factor to consider.
Currently, there is no information available regarding any promotional offers or special menus at JJ’s Wok in the provided reviews. Local users interested in learning about any potential promotions or discounts are advised to contact the restaurant directly at (512) 551-2400 or +1 512-551-2400. Given the mixed feedback on food quality from recent customers, it might be prudent to inquire about the freshness and preparation of specific dishes when placing an order.
In conclusion, JJ’s Wok in Pflugerville offers a menu of Chinese-American dishes for both dine-in and takeout. While one customer reported a positive experience with the Mongolian beef, others encountered issues with the Mongolian chicken, egg rolls, rice, and lemon chicken, citing problems such as unpleasant aftertaste, burnt preparation, fishy taste, and dry texture. The service was described as having "nice owners," but this did not outweigh the negative aspects of the food for the reviewers. Potential customers may want to consider these recent experiences when deciding whether to try JJ’s Wok and perhaps inquire about the preparation and freshness of their chosen dishes. Without further information, it is difficult to provide a comprehensive assessment of the restaurant's overall quality and consistency. For details on any promotions or specials, direct contact with the restaurant is recommended.

Customer Reviews
Nice owners. Ordered Mongolian chicken and the chicken had a weird after taste. Took a few bites and unfortunately tossed the rest of it. Egg-rolls were ok, tad bit burnt. Rice had a fishy taste to it. Maybe it’s bc i came in 1hr prior towards closing? Sometimes that will do it….But Their Mongolian beef i know is good, just the chicken was not for me. Pretty much meal was 3.1/10
Ordered to be picked up. My lemon chicken was not good, dry and chewy. The orange beef was just good. Not sure we will try again.
Klaus was very helpful over the phone, I’m excited to try this food! It’s amazing, combination lo mein sub glass noodles. Beef and broccoli with carrots on point, coming back when I need me some Chinese food.
New Favorite is Singapore Rice! Clean, newer, local restaurant. Friendly service. Steady, not extremely busy. Egg rolls and Kung Pau and Chicken / Shrimp dishes were above average. Good egg drop soup. They also offer no MSG preparation.... Returned a second time. Excellent service and Sesame Chicken and the 3 meat rice noodle dish was super as well.
The food is really good, and their service. we don’t need to wait for more than 15minutes. They check on you if you needed anything. Their bathroom smells good and was clean.
