When choosing a Chinese restaurant for takeout, many rely on the experiences of other customers to make an informed decision. Recent online reviews for JJ China Restaurant present a concerning picture, with multiple customers expressing disappointment regarding the flavor, quality of ingredients, and overall value of their orders. These reviews highlight specific issues with several dishes and even mention an unpleasant odor associated with the restaurant's packaging.
One customer, who was looking to try Chinese food in the area and found JJ China Restaurant on Google, placed a phone order for honey chicken with shrimp rice and a large Four Seasons dish. Their experience was far from satisfactory, as they reported being "disappointed with flavor and quality." The honey chicken was described as "tough and dry," indicating a potential issue with the cooking process or the quality of the chicken itself. The reviewer noted that while the chicken was battered and fried, it "lacked seasoning" and tasted as if honey was simply poured on top after frying, suggesting a lack of integrated flavor.
The shrimp rice also failed to meet expectations, lacking flavor and not tasting fried. Instead, it resembled "white steamed rice with soy sauce" that was "not mixed well." This suggests a rushed or inadequate preparation of a staple Chinese dish. The Four Seasons dish, while initially appearing visually appealing ("looked good"), also "fell flat on quality" with "tough chicken and veggies." This indicates a potential consistency issue across different poultry and vegetable preparations.
Adding to the negative experience, this reviewer mentioned an "odor in the restaurant that transferred onto the plastic and brown paper bags our order was packed in, which also transferred into our car." This is a significant concern, as an unpleasant odor permeating the food packaging can severely detract from the dining experience and even raise questions about the restaurant's overall hygiene. Based on their negative experience, this customer concluded that they "tried it once, cannot recommend ;("
Another customer, who was specifically craving Chinese fried rice, ordered takeout of the Large Yangzhou Fried Rice for $14.29. This dish was advertised as containing egg, pork, chicken, and shrimp. However, the customer's order contained significantly fewer ingredients than expected. They reported receiving "fried rice with scrapes of pork and eggs, and two pieces of shrimp, no chicken." This discrepancy between the menu description and the actual contents of the dish is a major concern, especially given the price paid. The reviewer acknowledged the high grocery prices but pointed out that takeout prices are also elevated, implying an expectation of receiving the advertised ingredients.
These two reviews collectively paint a concerning picture of JJ China Restaurant. Both customers reported issues with the flavor and quality of their food. The honey chicken and Four Seasons were described as having tough chicken, while the rice in both the honey chicken combo and the Yangzhou Fried Rice lacked flavor and proper preparation. The Yangzhou Fried Rice also suffered from a significant lack of advertised ingredients. Furthermore, the mention of an unpleasant odor transferring from the restaurant to the takeout packaging is a serious issue that could deter potential customers.
The environment of JJ China Restaurant is not explicitly described in the provided reviews, aside from the mention of an odor present within the establishment that transferred to the takeout bags. This suggests that the interior environment might have issues that could affect the overall customer experience, even for those ordering takeout. Without further information, it is difficult to comment on the decor, cleanliness, or general ambiance of the dining area, if one exists.
In terms of services, the reviews indicate that JJ China Restaurant primarily offers takeout. One customer specifically mentioned calling in their order for pickup. The lack of mention of dine-in or delivery services suggests that takeout might be their main mode of operation. The online ordering mentioned by the second reviewer further supports the availability of takeout services.
Features of JJ China Restaurant that can be gleaned from the reviews are unfortunately mostly negative. The issues with the flavor and quality of dishes like the honey chicken, shrimp rice, and Four Seasons are significant drawbacks. The missing chicken in the Yangzhou Fried Rice and the overall lack of expected ingredients raise concerns about value for money and accuracy in order fulfillment. The unpleasant odor associated with the restaurant and its packaging is another major negative feature. On a more neutral note, they do offer a menu that includes popular Chinese-American dishes like honey chicken, fried rice, and combination plates.
The provided information does not contain any specific promotional details for JJ China Restaurant. Given the recent negative feedback regarding food quality and potential hygiene issues, it is difficult to assess the value of any potential promotions they might offer. Local users interested in any specials or discounts would need to contact the restaurant directly. However, it would be prudent to consider the recent customer experiences when evaluating any such offers.
In conclusion, recent customer reviews for JJ China Restaurant in Morrisville, NC, raise significant concerns about the flavor, quality, and accuracy of their food, as well as potential issues with an unpleasant odor. Customers reported tough and dry chicken, bland and poorly prepared rice, a lack of advertised ingredients in a specialty fried rice dish, and an odor transferring from the restaurant to the takeout packaging. These issues suggest a need for improvement in food preparation, ingredient quality, and overall hygiene. Local users considering ordering from JJ China Restaurant should be aware of this recent negative feedback and might want to proceed with caution or consider other Chinese takeout options in the Morrisville area.

Wanted to try chinese food in the area and found this location on Google. Called our order in via phone for the honey chicken with shrimp rice and a large Four Seasons. Was disappointed with flavor and quality. The chicken tasted tough and dry. You can tell it was battered and fried, but lacked seasoning. It tasted like they just poured honey on top after frying. The rice lacked flavor as well and didn't taste fried - it tasted more like white steamed rice with soy sauce and wasn't mixed well. The Four Seasons looked good, but fell flat on quality. Tough chicken and veggies. There was also an odor in the restaurant that transferred onto the plastic and brown paper bags our order was packed in, which also transferred into our car. We tried it once, cannot recommend ;(
I was craving for Chinese fried rice. I ordered takeout the Large Yangzhou Fried Rice for $14.29 that’s supposed to have egg, pork, chicken shrimp. What I got was fried rice with scrapes of pork and eggs, and two pieces of shrimp, no chicken . I understand the grocery prices are high but so is the price for takeout.

After a long hard day, I decided to get some chinese takeout. I have picked up numerous deliveries from here as an Uber Eats driver and decided to give this place a try myself. I ordered the sesame chicken with white rice and a pork egg roll. Everything was delicious and reminded of chinese from NY! It was the best part of my day!
