About Jing's

Jing's is a Chinese restaurant situated at 207 E Buffalo St in the Historic Third Ward of Milwaukee. While categorized as a Chinese restaurant platform, customer reviews indicate a somewhat inconsistent experience in terms of food quality. It appears to offer a dine-in setting, described by one reviewer as a "hidden gem" providing a quiet escape from the area's activity.

One customer reported a significant disparity in the quality of different dishes ordered. The shrimp fried rice was rated highly at 8/10, suggesting a satisfying preparation of this classic dish. However, the chicken lo mein received a very negative review (1/10), with the customer noting the use of spaghetti noodles instead of traditional flat lo mein noodles, a lack of vegetables, minimal and poorly prepared chicken, and a simple garlic oil seasoning. This reviewer also mentioned seeing pictures that indicated the restaurant previously used the correct type of noodles.

Another dish, the orange chicken, was also criticized for lacking a discernible orange flavor or the expected balance of sweetness, instead being described as thickened soy/oyster sauce. This suggests that some of the more common Chinese-American dishes may not meet typical expectations.

On a more positive note, one reviewer referred to Jing's as a "hidden gem" and a "great place to dine in away from the bustle and hustle" of the 3rd Ward. This implies that the restaurant offers a pleasant and perhaps less crowded atmosphere for those looking for a quieter dining experience in the area.

Currently, there is no specific information available regarding the overall environment or ambiance beyond the "hidden gem" comment, the range of services offered (beyond dine-in), any unique features of the restaurant, or any ongoing promotional offers. Local users considering Jing's should be aware of the mixed reviews regarding food quality, particularly the reported issues with the chicken lo mein and orange chicken, while also noting the potential for a pleasant and quiet dine-in experience in a convenient Third Ward location.

I have never had a restaurant vary so widely in between the quality of dishes that I ordered. The shrimp fried rice was easily an 8/10, but the chicken lo mein was a joke. Based on the other pictures I can tell that they used to use the proper flat noodles, but these were just spaghetti noodles. Seasoning was just garlic oil, there were no veggies at all, and about eight small, thin pieces of chicken coated in cornstarch and lightly fried. 1/10, nasty. The orange chicken has no discernable orange flavor or balanced sweetness as expected, just thickened soy/oyster sauce.

A hidden Gem, worth looking for if you are in the 3rd ward. A buddy introduced me to Jings and it's a great place to dine in away from the bustle and hustle.

Ordered beef lo mein and combination fried rice for dinner. The food tasted nasty, soggy, overly processed, and lacked flavor. So disappointed as the entrees were 14 bucks each, in small round containers fit for a typical lunch special. Will not recommend, go to Bamboo or Emporer of China.

Outstanding food. They have an excellent regular menu and I’ve asked about other options not listed and they frequently have items not on a regular menu. Those are actually Chinese recipes and they have always been a pleasant surprise

The food is my favorite in Milwaukee. The soup dumplings are the best that I've had and I really like the hot chili chicken. Everything tastes amazing!
