About Jin's Chow Mein

Located at 129 Willow Bend, Crystal, MN 55428, USA, Jin's Chow Mein stands as a local fixture in the Chinese restaurant category, serving the community with its distinctive take on classic Chinese American cuisine. This establishment, easily reachable by phone at (763) 537-7812 or via mobile at +1 763-537-7812, has carved out a niche for itself, particularly appealing to those seeking an unpretentious and affordable dining experience. For many years, it has been a go-to spot for take-out, a testament to its enduring presence and the loyalty it has cultivated among its patrons.

When it comes to the **environment** at Jin's Chow Mein, patrons should anticipate a focus on the food rather than elaborate decor. As a long-standing take-out oriented establishment, the emphasis is on efficiency and getting delicious food into the hands of customers. While specific details about the interior ambiance are not extensively shared, the very nature of a take-out focused Chinese restaurant often means a more casual, no-frills setting. It's the kind of place where the aroma of stir-fried dishes and savory sauces is the primary element setting the mood, promising a straightforward and satisfying meal.

The **services** at Jin's Chow Mein are characterized by their accommodating nature, particularly in the realm of customer inquiries. Customers have noted a warm greeting upon arrival, indicating a friendly and welcoming front-of-house experience. One notable aspect of their service is their willingness to assist with ingredient-related questions, even going so far as to look up ingredient labels for verification. This level of attentiveness to customer needs, especially concerning dietary considerations or preferences, showcases a commitment to ensuring a positive and informed dining experience. The primary service model appears to be take-out, which aligns with the restaurant's reputation and customer feedback, making it a convenient option for those looking to enjoy their Chinese meal at home.

Jin's Chow Mein distinguishes itself through several key **features**. First and foremost is its **affordability**. Multiple customer accounts highlight the excellent prices, with one reviewer noting a total order under $20, directly contrasting with concerns about price gouging often seen elsewhere. This commitment to offering value for money is a significant draw, making it an accessible option for regular meals or spontaneous cravings. Another defining feature, which customers need to be aware of, is the **payment method**. Jin's Chow Mein operates on a **cash-only** basis, as they do not have a card machine or support digital payment options like Google Pay or Apple Pay. This is a crucial detail for potential diners and reinforces the establishment's more traditional, no-frills approach to business operations.

Regarding the **culinary features** and popular dishes, Jin's Chow Mein offers a range of Chinese-American classics. The **Curry Beef** stands out as a particularly well-received dish, described by one customer as "excellent" and "quite delicious," prompting plans for a return visit specifically for more. This suggests a rich and flavorful curry that resonates strongly with patrons. The **Pork Fried Rice** is another staple on their menu, described as containing "pieces of pork that were closer" in texture, implying a satisfying and traditional rendition of this beloved dish. However, customer experiences with certain dishes can vary. The **Barbecue Pork appetizer**, while still considered "good," has been noted to differ from past experiences, now served in a sauce rather than caramelized pieces. This indicates some evolution in their preparation methods or perhaps a different interpretation of the dish. While there are overwhelmingly positive reviews for certain items, it's also worth noting that, like any restaurant, individual experiences can differ. One customer reported a negative experience with the **Cheese Wontons**, finding them "like rocks," and the **Sesame Chicken** as lacking flavor and being chewy. These varying perspectives highlight the subjective nature of taste and texture, and it's always recommended to try a variety of dishes to form one's own opinion.

As for **promotional information**, Jin's Chow Mein's main draw seems to be its consistent offering of affordable, classic Chinese dishes. The "no price gouging" aspect is a strong implicit promotion, appealing to budget-conscious consumers. Given its established presence and word-of-mouth reputation, the best promotion for Jin's Chow Mein often comes directly from its satisfied customers. The positive experiences with the Curry Beef and the overall value provided serve as compelling reasons for new and returning customers to visit. While specific, ongoing promotions are not detailed in the provided information, the intrinsic value of their pricing structure and the consistent quality of their popular dishes act as their primary marketing. For local users, the convenience of a cash-only, take-out focused operation makes it an easy choice for a quick and inexpensive meal. It's a place where you can expect to get a good amount of food for your money, making it a solid option for a satisfying Chinese meal in the Crystal area.

I used to get take out here years ago when I lived in the area. Decided to stop in as I remembered it was good. Was greeted warmly. I had some questions about ingredients and the young man was more than willing to look up ingredient labels for me to verify. Quite accommodating. We ordered pork fried rice, Curry beef and barbecue pork appetizer. The curry beef was excellent, quite delicious. I'm already planning a return trip for more in the future. The barbecue pork appetizer was not quite like I remember it. I remember caramelized pieces of barbecue pork. This was barbecue pork in a sauce. It was good, just not as good as I remember it. The pork fried rice contained pieces of pork that were closer. Prices are excellent. No price gouging here. My total was under $20. However, be prepared to bring cash as they don't have a card machine or Google/Apple pay. I will definitely be back again.

This is the worst $9 I ever spendt in my life. Food was so horrible and chewy I couldn't even eat it. Cheese Wontons were like rocks because of how hard they were. Sesame chicken didnt have any flavor and was chewy. Rice was typical. Im so disappointed!!

I haven't been here in 40 years so there are changes of course. Rice noodles no longer available. Slivered chicken and egg strips no longer come with chicken chow mein but food was still above average! Would definately return!!!

I've never seen a business run so efficiently. Call in orders are incredibly professional and easy, and they've always got it hot and ready before you get there to pick it up. Cash only, 30 seconds and you're out the door with your delicious food in hand, and might I add it's the best Chinese food you'll ever have!

Jin's Chow Mein use to be a okay spot to get Chinese food from, but lately they have fallen off with their food. I ordered some chicken egg foo young and chicken fried rice and both were awful, my egg foo young tasted like they use power eggs and the fried rice was over cooked and I have been going to them for 15yrs since moving from Chicago.
