About Jin Jin Chinese Restaurant

Welcome to Jin Jin Chinese Restaurant, located at 720 S Pendleton St in Easley, South Carolina (zip code 29640). As a Chinese restaurant serving the Easley community, Jin Jin Chinese Restaurant offers a menu of Chinese cuisine for local residents and visitors. You can contact them at (864) 855-8818 or their mobile number +1 864-855-8818 for orders or inquiries.

Based on recent customer reviews, Jin Jin Chinese Restaurant has received some critical feedback regarding the style and quality of its food, as well as issues with customer service. Potential customers should consider these experiences when deciding whether to dine at or order from this establishment.

One reviewer described the food as "junky American style Chinese," using a thumbs-down emoji to express their dissatisfaction. This suggests that the restaurant's approach to Chinese cuisine may not align with those seeking a more authentic or traditional flavor profile. Customers who prefer classic Chinese dishes made with traditional ingredients and techniques might find the offerings at Jin Jin to be a departure from their expectations.

Another customer had a particularly negative experience while trying to order Hot & Sour soup, specifically seeking an authentic version to help with a flu. They reported that Jin Jin's recipe was far from traditional, lacking key ingredients such as white pepper and black rice vinegar. Furthermore, they found the broth to be excessively sweet, indicating a heavy addition of sugar or sweetener, which overshadowed any spicy or sour notes typically present in Hot & Sour soup. The reviewer also noted the absence of other common ingredients like shiitake mushrooms, lily buds, or wood ear mushrooms, concluding that it was "NOT hot and sour soup."

This customer was so dissatisfied with their initial order that they returned to the restaurant to have the soup remade. However, the remade version tasted the same, leading to further disappointment and a feeling of wasted time and money. They strongly advised others looking for authentic Chinese soups to look elsewhere, indicating a significant failure of Jin Jin to meet their expectations for this particular dish.

Adding to the negative feedback, another reviewer expressed being "very upset" with their order of a quart of Sweet & Sour chicken. They reported that the dish was overcooked and contained a large amount of rice filler. This customer also mentioned that they usually order from Jin Jin once a week, suggesting they were a regular patron. However, they were refused a resolution or a replacement for the unsatisfactory Sweet & Sour chicken, which resulted in their decision not to return to the restaurant in the future. This incident highlights potential issues with food preparation (overcooking) and a lack of willingness to rectify mistakes or ensure customer satisfaction, even with regular customers.

The collective feedback from these reviews paints a concerning picture of Jin Jin Chinese Restaurant. There are indications that the food may be perceived as inauthentic or of low quality ("junky American style Chinese," overcooked chicken, inauthentic soup). Additionally, there are reports of poor customer service, including a refusal to remake a poorly prepared dish and a lack of willingness to address a regular customer's complaint about a substandard order.

As a Chinese restaurant within the platform category of Chinese Restaurants, Jin Jin would typically be expected to offer a range of dishes that fall under this culinary tradition. However, the reviews suggest that their interpretation of some classic dishes, like Hot & Sour soup, may deviate significantly from what customers expect. The focus on "American style Chinese" might imply a menu catering to local tastes with sweeter or less complex flavor profiles. The reported issues with overcooked food and excessive filler also raise concerns about the quality of ingredients and preparation.

The environment of the restaurant is not described in the reviews, so it is difficult to ascertain the ambiance or cleanliness of the dining area. Similarly, details about the services offered are limited to takeout (implied by the orders mentioned). There is no information about dine-in options or other potential services such as delivery or catering.

Features of Jin Jin Chinese Restaurant, based on the negative reviews, are hard to identify positively. The fact that they serve "American style Chinese" might be a feature for some customers who prefer this adaptation of the cuisine. However, the issues with inauthentic soup, overcooked food, and poor customer service overshadow any potential positive features. Promotional information is entirely absent from the provided feedback.

In conclusion, Jin Jin Chinese Restaurant in Easley, SC, has received negative feedback regarding its food quality and customer service. Customers have described the food as "junky American style Chinese" and have been disappointed with the inauthentic preparation of dishes like Hot & Sour soup. There are also reports of overcooked food (Sweet & Sour chicken with excessive rice filler) and a lack of willingness to resolve customer complaints, even with regular patrons. Potential customers seeking authentic Chinese flavors or high-quality, freshly prepared meals may want to consider these reviews carefully before choosing to dine at or order from Jin Jin Chinese Restaurant. The reported issues with food quality and customer service are significant concerns that could impact the overall dining experience.

Junky american style chinese. 👎 If you are looking for authentic Hot & Sour soup like I was to help with my flu then look elsewhere. Their recipie has no white pepper or black rice vinegar and they add a TON of sugar or sweetener to the broth. Tastes way too sweet no spicy, no sour, no shitake or lily buds or wood ear mushroom. This was NOT hot and sour soup. I went back to have it re-made and it came out tasting the same. Waste of time and money, look elsewhere for authentic chinese soups.

Very upset with this. I ordered a quart of sweet and sour chicken. This is what I got. It was overcooked and filled with rice. We usually order here once a week, but they refused to fix it, so I will not be back

I love hole in the wall chinese places. On return from deployment I tried to find the Lo Mein like I get here out in Utah and Texas. It just wasn't the same, I FINALLY got my lo mein! The family who runs this location is excellent as well very friendly and nice!!! We ended up trying the mushu beef and really likes it!! I'm particular about cabbage I prefer thinner slices and decently cooked. It was fun trying something new. The portion sizes also make me super happy since I can have dinner a snack and breakfast the next morning. They also worked with us wanting no vegetables and some of our dishes had added vegetables.

The service was great. Spring rolls were great. However, the Cantonese chicken didn't have much chicken and didn't come with the sauce/gravy.
