About Jin Jin China

Jin Jin China is a Chinese Restaurant located at 421 Chapanoke Rd #162 in Raleigh, North Carolina, catering to the local community's desire for Chinese cuisine. While specific details about the restaurant's history, ownership, or comprehensive menu are not available in the provided information, customer reviews offer some insights into the dining experience at Jin Jin China.

One customer who tried the sesame chicken noted that the dish itself was "nice." However, they expressed a desire for a better balance of ingredients, suggesting that the two pieces of broccoli provided were insufficient to adequately mix with the sauce. They proposed that smaller pieces of broccoli incorporated throughout the dish would have improved the overall experience. This feedback indicates that while certain dishes at Jin Jin China might be flavorful, there could be opportunities for improvement in the proportion and presentation of accompanying elements.

Another aspect of the meal that received feedback was the rice. One reviewer found it "filling" but also commented that it tasted like it contained "too much MSG." Monosodium glutamate (MSG) is a flavor enhancer commonly used in some Chinese cooking. While it enhances savory flavors for many, some individuals are sensitive to it, and others prefer its use to be more restrained. This comment suggests that the flavor profile of the rice at Jin Jin China might be characterized by a noticeable presence of MSG, which could be a consideration for potential customers.

In terms of the restaurant's atmosphere, one customer shared their personal preference for décor that evokes more traditional Chinese imagery. They mentioned that they "would have liked to see more pictures of mountains of china or a shrine perhaps." This suggests that the current ambiance at Jin Jin China might be more understated or modern, and this particular reviewer felt that incorporating more culturally thematic decorations could enhance the dining environment. While atmosphere is subjective, this feedback provides a glimpse into the aesthetic of the restaurant from one patron's perspective.

Despite these specific critiques, the same reviewer concluded their feedback with a positive note, stating, "I will be back 😎." This indicates that, overall, their experience was positive enough to warrant a return visit, suggesting that Jin Jin China offers some appealing aspects that outweigh the noted drawbacks for this particular customer.

However, another customer's review raises a significant concern regarding billing practices. This reviewer recounted an incident where they were initially informed their "special" meal would cost $26.00. Subsequently, after a fellow customer intervened to clarify the order, the price quoted by the staff member at the front was adjusted to $20 for a special. Upon checking their bank statement, the reviewer confirmed that they were indeed charged the initial amount of $26.00. This discrepancy led the reviewer to express strong disapproval, stating, "I would not come here. Stealing is not okay." While they acknowledged that "the food was great," they ultimately felt that the overcharge was not justifiable, regardless of the food quality.

This serious allegation of a billing discrepancy and perceived overcharging is a critical piece of feedback that potential customers should be aware of. It highlights a potential issue with transaction accuracy and customer service that could significantly impact the overall dining experience and trust in the establishment.

Based on the limited information available from these two reviews, we can summarize the following about Jin Jin China:

  • The sesame chicken is considered "nice," although the balance of accompanying ingredients might be improved.
  • The rice is described as "filling" but potentially containing a noticeable amount of MSG.
  • The restaurant's atmosphere might lack traditional Chinese decorative elements for some patrons.
  • One customer experienced a significant billing discrepancy, reporting an overcharge compared to the quoted price.
  • Despite some criticisms, at least one customer intends to return, suggesting some positive aspects to their experience, possibly related to food quality (as mentioned by the customer who reported the overcharge).

It is important to note that these reviews represent individual experiences and may not be fully representative of every customer's encounter at Jin Jin China. However, they provide valuable insights into potential strengths and weaknesses of the restaurant.

Given the limited scope of information, details regarding services such as dine-in experience, takeout efficiency, or delivery options are not explicitly mentioned. Similarly, no information about specific features of the restaurant, such as lunch specials, family deals, or unique menu items beyond sesame chicken and rice, is available. Furthermore, there is no mention of any current promotional offers or discounts that Jin Jin China might be providing to its customers.

Potential customers of Jin Jin China should consider the feedback provided in these reviews. The positive comment about the sesame chicken and the intention of a return visit suggest that the food quality might be a strong point for some dishes. However, the concerns raised about the rice containing too much MSG and, more seriously, the reported billing discrepancy are factors that prospective diners might want to keep in mind. It may be prudent to clarify order costs before payment and to review receipts carefully.

For local users in Raleigh, NC, Jin Jin China at 421 Chapanoke Rd #162 offers Chinese cuisine with reported strengths in some dishes but potential drawbacks in ingredient balance, MSG levels in rice, and, based on one review, significant concerns regarding billing accuracy. Without further information, a comprehensive assessment of the environment and services remains limited. Customers are encouraged to consider these points and perhaps try Jin Jin China to form their own opinions, while being mindful of the reported billing issue.

Was informed that my meal would be $26.00 for a “special” a customer decided to help me explain that I wanted the same meal that he had ordered. The lady in the from told me my meal would be $20 for a special. I checked my bank statement and this is what I was really charged. I would not come here. Stealing is not okay. The food was great but not worth being stolen from.

Awesome! Ordered a small chicken and broccoli with veggie fried rice for dinner and it was fresh and hot and delicious. There were so many good vegetables in the fried rice and the sauce on the chicken & broccoli was great, not too salty. The lady who took my order was really friendly, too. Thanks!

I’ve only been here once but the food was really good and fresh. We got egg rolls, ribs, and shrimp fried rice. It didn’t disappoint. And I ordered pretty late.

I ordered a simple honey chicken and white rice. It took a while because the woman who took my order couldn't understand me, and I couldn't understand her; I had to point to what I wanted on the menu. when I finally got my food, the rice was half-soaked in sauce that I think was from the chicken, and the chicken was fatty and slathered in oil; both were sickening.
