About Jimmy Wan's Restaurant & Lounge
Welcome to Jimmy Wan's Restaurant & Lounge, a Chinese restaurant located at 1686 PA-228 in Cranberry Township, Pennsylvania (zip code 16066). As a Chinese restaurant serving the Cranberry Twp area, Jimmy Wan's aims to offer a dining experience that encompasses both food and a comfortable lounge atmosphere. You can contact them at (724) 778-8978 or their mobile number +1 724-778-8978 for reservations or inquiries.
Based on recent customer reviews, the experiences at Jimmy Wan's Restaurant & Lounge appear to be quite polarized, with some customers reporting significant issues with food quality and service, while at least one other had a positive experience. It's important for potential diners to consider these varying perspectives when deciding whether to visit.
One customer who visited for lunch around 1 PM noted that despite the restaurant being sparsely occupied (only two tables were seated), it took an exceptionally long time – 45 minutes – for their food to be served. This lengthy wait time, even with few other patrons, could be a significant drawback for individuals with limited time during their lunch break or those who prefer prompt service.
This same reviewer also expressed extreme dissatisfaction with the General Tso's chicken they ordered. They reported that some pieces of the chicken were very large but found to be raw in the middle, posing a potential food safety concern. They strongly recommended that anyone ordering this dish cut into it before eating. Additionally, they described the sauce as "overwhelmingly sour," comparing it to sour candy rather than a savory sauce, and gave the dish a very low rating of 0 out of 10.
The reviewer's wife ordered the Kung Pao chicken and was equally unimpressed. The reviewer included a description suggesting the dish looked unappetizing and reported that it tasted predominantly of soy sauce, to the extent that his wife was unable to finish it. These critical comments indicate significant issues with the preparation and taste of these two popular Chinese dishes.
Based on this particular review, the overall food quality was deemed "terrible," and the service was also described as "just as bad," leading to a strong recommendation against visiting the restaurant. This paints a concerning picture of the dining experience for at least some customers.
However, another customer offered a contrasting perspective. They found "the restaurant itself was super nice" and described the staff as "super friendly and attentive." This suggests that the ambiance of Jimmy Wan's and the demeanor of some staff members are positive aspects of the establishment. This reviewer mentioned ordering the Chicken Lo Mein for their son, who "absolutely loved it." They also noted "great portion sizes and a reasonable price," indicating satisfaction with the value and quantity of at least one dish on the menu.
These conflicting reviews highlight the inconsistency in customer experiences at Jimmy Wan's Restaurant & Lounge. While one customer found the food to be severely flawed and the service poor, another praised the environment, staff friendliness, and a specific dish (Chicken Lo Mein). This discrepancy could be due to various factors, such as different dishes ordered, varying service on different days or with different staff members, or individual differences in taste and expectations.
As a Chinese restaurant with a "Lounge" in its name, Jimmy Wan's likely aims to provide not just a dining area but also a space where patrons can relax and perhaps enjoy drinks in a more leisurely setting. The positive reviewer's comment about the restaurant being "super nice" suggests that the ambiance might be a key feature of the establishment, possibly with a more upscale or comfortable decor than a typical casual Chinese takeout spot. The "Lounge" aspect could imply a bar area and a more relaxed atmosphere, especially during evening hours.
The services offered would typically include dine-in, and given the mention of a long wait time for food, it's clear they provide full table service. It is also likely that they offer takeout, although this is not explicitly mentioned in the provided reviews. A restaurant with a lounge might also have a more extensive beverage menu, potentially including alcoholic options.
Features of Jimmy Wan's could include the lounge area, the reported friendly and attentive staff (as per one review), and potentially a diverse menu that includes dishes like General Tso's chicken, Kung Pao chicken, and Chicken Lo Mein, as well as other Chinese specialties. The availability of a lounge area might make it a suitable place for social gatherings or a more relaxed evening out compared to a purely dining-focused establishment. The positive mention of great portion sizes and reasonable prices for the Chicken Lo Mein suggests that some dishes offer good value.
Promotional information is not provided in the reviews. To learn about any specials, discounts, or events at Jimmy Wan's Restaurant & Lounge, it would be best to check their website (if available) or contact them directly via phone.
In conclusion, Jimmy Wan's Restaurant & Lounge in Cranberry Twp, PA, presents a mixed bag of customer experiences based on the available reviews. While one customer lauded the nice environment, friendly service, and the Chicken Lo Mein, others reported significant issues with extremely long wait times for food, as well as poorly prepared and unappetizing dishes like the General Tso's chicken (raw and overly sour) and the Kung Pao chicken (tasting only of soy sauce). The stark contrast in these reviews suggests that the quality of food and service might be inconsistent. Potential customers should consider these varying experiences when deciding whether to dine at Jimmy Wan's. If the ambiance and potential for friendly service are appealing, it might be worth a visit, but caution is advised regarding the food quality of certain dishes based on the negative feedback.

We came here for lunch around 1 PM, and there were only two tables occupied. Still, it took them 45 minutes to bring out our food. Who has that kind of time to just sit and wait? I ordered the General Tso’s chicken — some of pieces was huge, but it was raw in the middle. I highly recommend anyone ordering this dish to cut into it before taking a bite. On top of that, the sauce was overwhelmingly sour — it tasted more like sour candy than anything savory. I’d give this dish a 0 out of 10. My wife ordered the Kung Pao chicken. Just look at the picture — what even is that? It tasted like nothing but soy sauce, and she couldn’t even finish it. The food was terrible. The service was just as bad. Not recommended.
The restaurant itself was super nice and the staff was super friendly and attentive. I ordered the Chicken Lo Mein for my son and he absolutely loved it. Great portion sizes and a reasonable price.
Ordered a pickup and wasnt disappointed - fish roe on a raddish. And chinese chicken salad. Delicate and balanced. Dont care much about portions as much as quality. Setup looks nice also
This was my first trip to Pittsburgh and Jimmy Wan's was highly recommended. I ordered fried chive dumplings as an appetizer and they were the best I've had. For my entrée, I ordered the roasted pork ramen soup (spice level 7). The broth was the worst I've ever had. Very bland, no spice and lacked any flavor. I requested anything to add some flavor to the noodles or broth. My server brought me chili oil and siracha. I added both and they didn't help either. I couldn't eat the remainder of my ramen soup and left. Ramen was the worst I've ever had. Service and atmosphere were fine. DO NOT ORDER THE RAMEN if you value flavor beyond hot water.
The Clase Azul wall art you added to the bar is fantastic. I've never seen anything like it. Great food, Great people!!
