About Jim's Restaurants

Jim's Restaurants is located at 11006 W I-10, San Antonio, TX 78230, USA. While categorized on some platforms as a Chinese Restaurant, customer reviews indicate a different culinary experience, more akin to a diner.

Based on recent feedback, the restaurant has been compared to a run-down Denny's. Some specific items have received mixed reviews. For instance, the cinnamon roll was described as having a strange, potentially frozen texture with an unusual icing. The breakfast tacos were noted for lacking flavor.

However, not all feedback was negative. The pancakes were specifically mentioned as being tasty, which might make them a recommended item. The "texas two step" was also ordered, although no specific details about this dish were provided in the review.

I've been a loyal HEB shopper for years and have always appreciated their commitment to quality and customer service. However, my recent experiences have been concerning. On multiple occasions, I've seen customers with dogs inside the store. While I'm a pet owner myself, I believe there are places where animals shouldn't be allowed, and a grocery store is one of them. These weren't service animals, just regular pets. This raises concerns about hygiene, potential allergies, and even safety. Not all dogs are comfortable in crowded environments, and the close quarters of a grocery store could potentially lead to unexpected behavior. I hope HEB will address this issue to ensure a safe and comfortable shopping environment for everyone.

This is the equivalent of a run down Denny's. We got the cinnamon roll, breakfast tacos and the texas two step. The cinnamon roll was strange, like it had been frozen too long and had a slightly chewy texture, the icing was not quite cream cheese (it wasn't as sour as cream cheese) but not quite a traditional icing either. It was just odd, like most of the food here. The tacos were great if you don't like flavor. The only thing that we could recommend was the pancakes they were actually tasty, that might be because everything else was so plain.

First time at this Jim's restaurant. Ot seated fast. Waitress was very nice and friendly. Food service was a little slow, but very good. Plenty to parking, clean rest rooms, clean lobby, wait staff very professional and friendly. Manager was seen and helping the staff. Other manager came by our table to check on us. (That's nice) I give 2 👍 👍up.

It seemed a little dim. The service was a little slow, but they were busy. It gave me and my friend to have conversation. And the waitress was good about keeping us posted regarding our food. The food my omelet was warm and very delicious. Will come again.

I've been to this location of Jim's Restaurant a few times now. The first time, I just got a chicken fried steak take out which was pretty good. I loved the white gravy. The next time I came here, I got their steak and eggs and treated myself to the ribeye cut. I know the picture makes the eggs look dry but trust me, it was not as dry as they look. The steak was actually a bit too fatty for me but still had remarkable flavor and definitely hit the spot. The waiter also gave me a taste of the cheese soup and my mind was blown. I don't know if it was because I was hungry or the soup was fresh but that cheese soup was absolutely amazing. The only time that the service was really suffering was when I went with a friend a few days after Christmas and it was absolutely wild. I'm guessing people were leaving to go back home from visiting San Antonio and decided to stop at the diner for food. It took a good hour for us to get seated and get our food ordered. Other than that blip in service, I feel like most days, their service is quick and friendly.
