About Jiao Zi Bao
Welcome to Jiao Zi Bao, a Chinese Restaurant nestled in a somewhat inconspicuous corner of Temple City, California, at 4819 Temple City Blvd Unit A, CA 91780, USA. Despite its seemingly low-key location, Jiao Zi Bao has garnered significant praise from those who have had the pleasure of discovering its culinary delights. If you're a local resident seeking an authentic and exceptionally flavorful Chinese dining experience, Jiao Zi Bao might just become your new favorite spot.
According to enthusiastic customer reviews, Jiao Zi Bao lives up to its promise of serving "REAL good" food. While the space itself is described as "small," the overall experience is far from diminutive, thanks to the "VERY wonderful staff" and the "extremely good food" offered at a "decent price." The fact that it's "tucked away in a small corner that people easily pass by" only adds to its charm as a potential hidden gem waiting to be discovered by discerning palates.
One particular dish that has left a lasting impression on diners is the "H6 soup." One reviewer's experience with this soup was so profound that they likened it to a moment from the popular anime "Food Wars!: Shokugeki no Soma," where the food is so delicious it elicits an almost otherworldly reaction. The soup is described as "so good it blew my socks off," with a "spicy" kick that is incredibly enjoyable ("it burns sooo good"). The broth is lauded for being "rich, thick, layered," suggesting a depth of flavor that speaks to careful preparation and quality ingredients. Adding to the appeal are the "hand made" noodles (as mentioned by the waitress) and the "premium meat" that is described as "just perfect." This soup has clearly resonated with customers, with one even declaring it their "new spot to eat after work on a cold winter day," emphasizing its comforting and soul-satisfying qualities. The reviewer's hyperbolic praise ("One spoonful of this soup will send your taste buds reeling. Spectacular. Give me fourteen of them more.") underscores the exceptional nature of this dish.
In addition to the remarkable soup, the "H1 kimchi pan fried dumplings" have also received high marks, described simply as "really good too." This indicates that Jiao Zi Bao's expertise extends beyond just noodle dishes, showcasing their ability to create flavorful and satisfying dumplings as well. The combination of the spicy and savory kimchi with the pan-fried preparation likely results in a delightful textural and taste experience.
Adding to the welcoming atmosphere and traditional touch, Jiao Zi Bao provides complimentary "hot tea" upon seating. This classic gesture is often appreciated by diners and sets a comforting tone for the meal to come. It's a small detail that contributes to the overall positive impression of the restaurant.
The overwhelmingly positive feedback regarding the food quality at Jiao Zi Bao suggests a commitment to using fresh, high-quality ingredients and preparing dishes with authentic flavors. The handmade noodles, in particular, point to a level of care and craftsmanship that is often sought after by those looking for a genuine Chinese culinary experience.
The "wonderful staff" also plays a significant role in the positive reviews. Friendly and attentive service can greatly enhance the dining experience, and the positive mention of the staff at Jiao Zi Bao indicates that they contribute to the overall enjoyment of the meal.
Despite its small size and somewhat hidden location, Jiao Zi Bao seems to offer a dining experience that far exceeds expectations. The combination of exceptional food, friendly service, and reasonable prices makes it a standout option in the Temple City area. For locals who might be looking for a new and exciting place to eat, Jiao Zi Bao presents itself as a true culinary discovery.
While no specific promotional offers were mentioned in the provided reviews, the consistent praise for the "decent price" suggests that Jiao Zi Bao already offers excellent value for the quality of food and service provided. This affordability, coupled with the outstanding flavors described, makes it an even more attractive option for budget-conscious diners who do not want to compromise on taste.

This place is REAL good! Small space, but VERY wonderful staff, and extremely good food at a decent price, tucked away in a small corner that people easily pass by, if they don't bother stopping in. But hey, that's just their loss.
I ordered the H6 soup and H1 kimchi pan fried dumplings. Lets start with the soup…have ya’ll ever seen the anime Food Wars!: Shokugeki no Soma?? Yea, eating here is like that. This soup was so good it blew my socks off. Holy. Moly. Its spicy but it burns sooo good. The broth is rich, thick, layered. The noodles are hand made (according to my waitress). And the premium meat is just perfect. I just found my new spot to eat after work on a cold winter day. One spoonful of this soup will send your taste buds reeling. As you can tell, i really liked it. Spectacular. Give me fourteen of them more. The kimchi dumplings were really good too. Lol. Oh and they give you hot tea when you sit down. Classic. P.s. sorry for the half eaten soup pic. It was so good i had to write the review before i finished it.
Today I found a restaurant that I often pass by but have never been in. The dumplings 🥟 taste quite good, the ingredients in the “Lamb Lamb Tripe pot ”are super fresh, I have tried the Lamb soup in many stores, but the lamb liver in other stores is a bit yellow And it tastes a bit bitter. The lamb liver in this store is the color that lamb liver should have, because it is very fresh. Friends who like lamb soup and dumplings can come and try it. Recommended👍
Small but mighty. Good food and ordered the beef noodle soup, sesame pancake, beef pancake, lamb hot pot and lamb flat noodles. They also sell frozen dumplings with batch of 50 each bag. Highly recommended.
Just found a hidden place! All the foods are so good.
