About Jia Wei

Jia Wei is a Chinese restaurant located at 6820 Fort Hamilton Pkwy, Brooklyn, NY 11219, USA. This establishment offers a selection of Chinese cuisine, with a focus on Fuzhounese breakfast items and other dishes. You can contact them at (347) 497-5563 or +1 347-497-5563.

One customer visited Jia Wei specifically for Fuzhounese breakfast and found the taste and quality to be similar to options available in the 8th Avenue area, which is known for its Chinese food. They enjoyed the guobianfu (rice flake soup, possibly labeled as rice paste) and some pastries. They also ordered the Fuzhounese bamboo with red sauce and pork (identified as red glutinous wine lees) to go and found it to be very good, appreciating the convenience it offered.

However, another customer reported negative experiences involving pricing inconsistencies. They mentioned ordering peanut noodles for $3 on one occasion, while a friend was charged $4 for the same dish days later. This customer also stated they received a different type of noodle than chow mein, which was priced at $6 but they were charged $10. Additionally, they described an attempt to order a large tray of noodles for their church, initially quoted at around $50, but when they requested normal-sized portions, the total came out to $18. This customer strongly advises against visiting Jia Wei, alleging they engage in scamming practices targeting children and unaware elderly individuals.

Based on these reviews, Jia Wei offers Fuzhounese breakfast and other Chinese dishes, with one customer finding the quality comparable to other established options. However, potential customers should be aware of a recent report detailing significant concerns regarding inconsistent pricing and potential overcharging.

Came for fuzhounese breakfast. We didn’t feel like walking all the way to 8th ave, but the taste/quality is quite similar to places there. Got the guobianfu (rice flake soup- believe they labeled it rice paste?) and some pastries. Also got the fuzhounese bamboo with red sauce and pork (google tells Me it’s called red glutinous wine lees in English) to go. It was very good and saved us the hassle of prepping the bamboo and making it.

I went there multiple times and got scammed, I ordered a serving of peanut noodles that was $3 dollars, my friend went days later and paid $4. I ordered chow mein and got another type of noodle which costed 6 dollars but paid 10. I tried to order a plate of noodles(a metal plastic big tray) for my church and got told it was 50 ish dollars but I told them to just fill it up with normal size portions which came out to 18 dollars. What a scam don’t go to this place, they scam kids and unaware elderly

What's not to like? $9.50, and the portions are huge! It's enough for 2 people to enjoy. There is a large variety of choices for all kinds of picky eaters.

The food is ok, just below ok. Expensive, it doesn't matter if the food is good, but their food is not very good, and they overcharge you if you don't look carefully, I went there 3 times just to see if there is any good food, but there is none, and they overcharged me the first two times, and when I found out the third time, they said they overcharged me accidentally. I don't know what excuse this is. Definitely not recommended.

Good traditional homey Chinese food. The price point is great, and the portion is huge.
