About Jerry's Bistro

Welcome to Jerry's Bistro, a Chinese restaurant located at 22652 Three Notch Rd in Lexington Park, Maryland. Operating within the Chinese Restaurant category, Jerry's Bistro also appears to offer a selection of American dishes, catering to a diverse range of culinary preferences. Based on recent customer reviews, the experiences at Jerry's Bistro seem to present a dichotomy, with some patrons praising the food quality and variety, while others have encountered issues with service efficiency and the preparation of certain dishes.

One customer who visited Jerry's Bistro with high expectations based on previous reviews reported a disappointing experience. Upon entering, they noted a pleasant smell, which initially seemed promising. After being seated and reviewing the menu, they proceeded to place their order. However, the front-of-house operations appeared to be significantly understaffed, with only one "younger guy" managing all customer-facing tasks, including phone orders, walk-in customers, DoorDash pickups, and bagging orders. This high workload resulted in considerable delays for everyone. The reviewer observed a line of five people, with several expressing annoyance due to lengthy wait times for online orders. Adding to the chaos, the reviewer's order was mistakenly sent out with a DoorDash driver, necessitating the employee to retrieve it. This account paints a picture of a potentially overwhelmed staff, which can lead to inefficiencies and customer frustration, particularly during busy periods.

The same reviewer also provided detailed feedback on the specific dishes they ordered. The Mongolian beef, which was not indicated as spicy on the menu, turned out to be excessively spicy, rendering it inedible for the reviewer. Additionally, the beef was cut into thick strips rather than the typically expected flat cut, and the onions were described as mushy, leading to an overall negative assessment of this dish. The Chicken Broccoli was deemed "decent" but lacking in the expected flavor. The Pan Fried Dumplings were particularly disappointing, as they reportedly tasted like the lettuce they were served on, leading to a strong negative reaction from the reviewer. In contrast, the Shrimp Basket was well-received by the reviewer's husband, who found it to be a great value for its price of $11.50, which included a generous portion of 16 shrimp and crinkle-cut fries. This stark contrast in the quality and satisfaction of different dishes suggests inconsistency in the kitchen's preparation or the recipes themselves.

Furthermore, the reviewer noted an issue with the drink service. The fountain drinks were served in very thin paper cups that began to deteriorate within 15 minutes, raising concerns about their durability and the potential for puncturing. This detail, while seemingly minor, contributes to an overall negative impression of the dining experience.

In stark contrast to this negative experience, another reviewer expressed high satisfaction with Jerry's Bistro, stating that the "food is pretty awesome." This customer specifically praised several dishes, including the Shrimp Egg Foo Young with fried rice, the wings, and the Philly Cheesesteak, describing the latter as "yum!" A significant positive point for this reviewer was that the food was not excessively greasy, a common concern at some Chinese restaurants. This positive feedback led this customer to recommend Jerry's Bistro and declare it their "favorite in this area." This glowing review highlights the potential for Jerry's Bistro to deliver excellent food that satisfies local palates.

Considering these contrasting reviews, Jerry's Bistro appears to be a Chinese restaurant that has the capacity to produce well-received dishes, such as the Shrimp Egg Foo Young, wings, and Philly Cheesesteak, which are appreciated for their flavor and non-greasy preparation. The Shrimp Basket is also noted for its value. However, there seem to be inconsistencies in the preparation of other dishes like the Mongolian beef and pan-fried dumplings, as well as potential issues with service efficiency, particularly during busy times, possibly due to understaffing in the front of house. The quality of basic provisions like drink cups has also been raised as a concern.

For local users in Lexington Park considering Jerry's Bistro, it seems prudent to be aware of the potential for service delays, especially during peak hours, and the possibility of inconsistencies in food preparation. While some dishes have garnered high praise, others have been met with disappointment. If you are inclined to try Jerry's Bistro, focusing on the dishes that have received positive mentions, such as the Shrimp Egg Foo Young, wings, or Philly Cheesesteak, might be a safer bet. The Shrimp Basket also appears to offer good value. However, if you have specific preferences or sensitivities (like spice levels), it might be wise to inquire about the preparation of dishes before ordering. As there is no information provided about the restaurant's ambiance or any current promotional offers, the decision to visit may hinge on whether the positively reviewed food items outweigh the potential service issues and inconsistencies in other dishes. I had high hopes for this place from the reviews, but I was pretty disappointed. Walked in and it smelled good. Sat down with a menu to figure out what we wanted. Went up and ordered. There was only one younger guy handling everything in the front (phone, walk-ins, doordash, bagging). He was so busy that everything took a long time. At one point there was 5 people in line and half of them looked annoyed because they had ordered online and it was taking so long. My order went out the door by accident with a doordash lady and he chased after her. On to my food: Mongolian beef: no spicy icon - came out so dang spicy I couldn’t eat it. The beef was in thick strips instead of flat cut. The onions were mushy. Not good. Chicken broccoli: decent but not as flavorful as I am used to. Pan fried dumplings: tasted like lettuce from the bed of lettuce it came on. Just no! Ugh. Shrimp basket: husband liked it and said it was a great value for $11.50 16pc and crinkle cut fries. Drinks: ordered 2 fountain drinks and the cups they gave us were a very thin paper cup. They were sinking in after 15 minutes. I thought my fingers were going to puncture it. Imagine a paper straw how they get soggy but a cup in that same material. Overall- I won’t be going back.

Food is pretty awesome. I love the shrimp egg foo young, with fried rice, the wings, Philly cheesesteak (yum!). The food isn’t extra greasy like a lot of Chinese food places. I recommend Jerry’s Bistro. They’ve become my favorite in this area.

In one word I would say it meh. Ordered 100 dollars of Chinese food. Ordered multiple different items.Crab Rangoon was completely empty of any filling, chicken mei fun was bland and basically had no meat in it. While the beef and broccoli had lots of meat the broccoli was raw and uncooked. Chicken low mein was basically spaghetti with more veggies then meat and once again no real flavor. The steamed and fried dumplings were actually pretty good. Chicken fried rice had no chicken at all. Sweet and sour chicken. Was more batter then chicken. Service was great! Unfortunately food was not
