About Jasmine Sushi Hibachi & Thai

While the platform category is listed as Chinese Restaurant, Jasmine Sushi Hibachi & Thai, located at 1855 Sullivan Trail, Easton, PA 18040, offers a broader range of Asian cuisines, including Japanese (sushi and hibachi) and Thai, in addition to dishes that may align with a Chinese restaurant. For local users, this establishment presents a diverse culinary experience.

According to customer reviews, the sushi at Jasmine Sushi Hibachi & Thai is a highlight, with one reviewer stating it was great and suggesting it is a point of pride for the restaurant. The service is also generally well-regarded as great.

The hibachi experience is noted to be entertaining, with chefs putting on a show that includes fire tricks. However, some aspects of the hibachi service were unexpected for one first-time diner, such as being sprayed with water and having sake sprayed directly into their mouth without prior warning. There was also an interactive element involving catching broccoli, which was perceived as somewhat pointless, especially when directed towards a very young child.

The food quality for the hibachi was described as decent, with the sauces playing a significant role in the flavor. Specifically, chicken and steak were rated around 5.5/10, while the shrimp was considered better at 6.5/10. The rice was noted to be a bit bland on its own but improved with sauce.

The salad served with the hibachi was described as fresh with a flavorful dressing, possibly resembling buttermilk ranch. The soup was also well-received, containing mushrooms, onions, and scallions for a rich flavor.

One area for potential improvement mentioned by a customer was cleanliness, as they reported finding a hair on their plate upon arrival. Additionally, the restaurant does not offer free refills on fountain drinks, which was surprising to one visitor.

Overall, Jasmine Sushi Hibachi & Thai offers a diverse Asian menu with a focus on sushi and an entertaining hibachi experience. While some aspects of the hibachi and cleanliness received mixed feedback, the sushi and general service were praised. Local users looking for a variety of Asian flavors and an engaging hibachi show may find this restaurant worth a visit. The food is good, not the best hibachi I've ever had but it was good. The sushi was great, I think they pride themselves on it, rightfully so. The service was great. It could definitely be cleaner and there was a hair on my plate when it arrived. My husband enjoyed it more than I did, I would probably revisit with him if the opportunity arose but I'm certainly not itching to get back.

Disclaimer: First Time Hibachi I visited Jasmine Sushi Hibachi & Thai with my family and enjoyed the food overall. The salad was fresh and nicely dressed with a flavorful sauce that seemed like buttermilk ranch, though I’m not entirely sure. The soup was also very good, filled with mushrooms, onions, and scallions for a lot of flavor. I was very surprised they don’t offer free refills on fountain drinks. The hibachi chef put on an entertaining show with fire tricks. He sprayed water on us after which was a bit unexpected. At one point, he sprayed saki directly into my mouth without mentioning it was alcohol—I assumed it was a sauce until afterward. This caught me off guard. He then encouraged guests to catch broccoli in their mouths which was cool but even aiming for my niece, who’s not even two and couldn’t catch it, so it just ended up on the floor and seemed pointless. It was a fun gesture, but after the saki incident, I wasn’t exactly prepared for it. As for my meal, I had chicken and steak (medium-well) with a side of shrimp. The meat was decent, with the sauce adding most of the flavor. I’d rate it about 5.5/10. The shrimp was better, around a 6.5/10. The rice on its own was a bit bland, maybe a 4/10, but with the sauce, it went up to a 6/10.

Great Thai food. Excellent Service. Generous portions. We don’t eat on the hibachi side, but looks like a fun experience. We like a booth on the side and you can get the full menu.

Very nice clean inside. All our meals were very good with exception of the hot tea and tempura ice cream. What they did not do is leave the ice cream in longer to get that nice crispy tempura crust, instead most was soggy. Ruined it. Ice cream itself was good. One thing we noticed is that for $ they don’t give you generous portions as others. I had a delicious dish that ran out of white rice, I asked for extra rice to go with my leftovers, no problem. So they charged $2.00 for a cup of white rice? We live very close to a superior Japanese Sushi restaurant whose portions are larger, much more rice, less $$ overall better , so friendly and are regulars . Never a bad thing to say about them. but wanted to try Jasmine because I heard of a second location opening. Glad we tried was fine but , better places to go.
