About Jade Garden
Welcome to Jade Garden, your neighborhood Chinese restaurant located at 1410 Kasold Dr a13, Lawrence, KS 66049, USA. As a part of the Chinese Restaurant category in Lawrence, Jade Garden aims to provide a diverse menu of Chinese cuisine, catering to both those looking for a quick meal to-go and those who prefer to dine in and enjoy a relaxed atmosphere. We offer a variety of dishes, and based on customer feedback, we strive to deliver flavorful food with appealing presentation and generous portions.
The environment at Jade Garden appears to be conducive to both picking up takeout orders and enjoying a meal on-site. One customer who initially ordered food to go and later dined in mentioned that both experiences were good. This suggests that Jade Garden offers a comfortable and welcoming space for dine-in customers. While specific details about the décor and ambiance are not extensively described in the provided reviews, the positive mention of dining in implies a pleasant setting where customers can enjoy their meals. The discovery of a 'secret' menu by one customer also hints at a potentially more extensive or specialized offering beyond the regular menu, adding an element of intrigue for returning visitors.
Jade Garden offers multiple services to cater to different customer preferences. Primarily, they provide takeout service, which seems to be a popular option based on the positive review from a visitor in town for a sports event. This customer specifically mentioned ordering food to go and being very satisfied with the quality, quantity, and presentation. Additionally, Jade Garden offers dine-in service, as evidenced by the same customer's subsequent visit where they chose to eat at the restaurant and reported a positive experience with both the food and the service. The mention of Boba teas also indicates a beverage offering that complements their food menu, providing another reason for customers to visit and enjoy their time at the restaurant.
A significant feature of Jade Garden, highlighted by a positive review, is the delicious taste of their food, coupled with good quantities and nice presentation. This suggests a focus on not only the flavor of their dishes but also on ensuring that customers receive satisfying portions that are visually appealing. The fact that a visitor who initially got takeout was impressed enough to return and dine in speaks volumes about the quality and overall experience offered by Jade Garden. The availability of a 'secret' menu adds another layer of intrigue, suggesting potential specialty dishes or off-menu items that regular customers might discover and enjoy, encouraging repeat visits and exploration of their culinary offerings.
However, not all customer experiences have been positive. One recent review detailed a highly unsatisfactory experience involving a lunch order of General T’so chicken that was reportedly not cooked fresh and served lukewarm. The customer's attempt to address this issue with the staff at the counter resulted in what they perceived as rude and dismissive behavior. The staff member's suggestion to simply reheat the food was met with displeasure, as the customer was looking for freshly prepared food. This negative experience was exacerbated by the customer's feeling of being treated poorly based on their attire, leading to a strong condemnation of the food quality and customer service on that particular occasion.
The stark contrast between the two reviews provides a mixed picture of the customer experience at Jade Garden. While one customer raved about the delicious food, good portions, nice presentation, and excellent service during both a takeout and a dine-in visit, including enjoying their Boba teas, another customer reported a significant issue with the freshness and temperature of their food, coupled with unprofessional and rude treatment from the staff. This discrepancy suggests that the quality of food and service might be inconsistent, or that individual experiences can vary greatly depending on the specific circumstances and staff interaction.

In conclusion, Jade Garden in Lawrence, KS, is a Chinese restaurant offering takeout and dine-in services, along with beverages like Boba tea. While one customer experienced delicious food with good portions and presentation, and praised the service during both takeout and dine-in visits, another reported a significant issue with the freshness of their food and encountered rude customer service. This suggests that while many may have positive experiences at Jade Garden, potential inconsistencies in food quality and service should be considered. Customer Reviews
We were in town for a sports event this weekend. We saw a lot of great reviews before we decided to try this place ourselves. The food we ordered to go was very delicious. They have good quantities, nice presentation, and great taste. I also discovered some 'secret' menus while I was picking up food the other day, we decided to go back again to try some new food items along with their Boba teas, and this time we dined in. Yep, both the food and service were really good per usual. The boba teas were really good and my kids finished them in no time. I would highly recommend it if you haven't been here yet. Yes, we will be back if we are in town next time.
Tried this place today to give it a chance from what I remembered being “unpleasant “ and I received a lunch General T’so chicken and it was NOT COOKED FRESH! I took 1 bite and it was LUKE WARM AT BEST! I tried to talk to the lady at the counter and she acted like I was making up stuff. She said “we can heat it up” then the thought of that turned my stomach... she treated me like I was nothing due to my “country work clothing” is what vibe I got. I said “Can I just order something else and she rudely replied with stating “I don’t know why you’d want something else if you didn’t like what you have and won’t let us heat up the food!” 😳 Okay… if I wanted to have “heated food in a microwave” we would have stayed home. So in short story, DO NOT EXPECT GOOD FOOD! If you’re dressed a certain way they will treat you like crap. You get 6 bites of nuke warm chicken and it is absolutely WORSE THAN 10 YEARS AGO! I told her we just won’t come back and her reply was “that’s fine” 🙄😳 Yeah, this was absolutely ridiculous!
Honestly, everything was pretty bad... The egg drop soup was flavorless and didn't even come with crunchy wontons. That's just rude. Luckily I had a bag in my cabinet. The beef and broccoli was mostly just carrots and was drowning in water. The spring rolls were broken and the shrimp inside was chewy. The chicken wings were dry and hard. Octopus balls were the absolute worst I've ever had.. they tasted like some kind of chemical. Moo shu was missing the pancakes so that was definitely disappointing. Not to mention the extra sauce we got was in a crushed Styrofoam container and had gotten on almost everything in the bag. I'll never be back to this place.
Not exactly the best Asian restaurant in town but not the worse. Highly inconsistent with portion and the way some of the food is cooked. They are prompt and the sushi is pretty good though. Not a bad place if you're in need of a quick meal.
Allan, the pleasant bartender makes everyone feel so very welcome. You know you’re in the care of a master host from the moment you appear. He makes every drink with skill and care. You’ll leave happier than when you entered. And there’s food too. The menu is a bit long but he can help you choose. Mostly we go just for a drink but when you don’t feel like cooking, it’s good to go there. Service is fast and friendly.
