About Jade Garden
Welcome to the detailed introduction of Jade Garden, a Chinese restaurant located at 1304 Fording Island Rd ste k, Bluffton, SC 29910, USA. As a local establishment in the Chinese Restaurant category, Jade Garden offers a variety of dining options, including takeout and an in-house buffet, with potential for hibachi service as well. This introduction aims to provide local users with a comprehensive overview of what Jade Garden offers, based on publicly available customer reviews, to give an objective sense of its environment, services, features, and perceived value.
Jade Garden can be contacted via telephone at (843) 815-6588 or through their mobile number, +1 843-815-6588. These contact details are useful for placing takeout orders or inquiring about the buffet and potential hibachi grill availability and hours.
Customer reviews for Jade Garden present two distinct perspectives, largely divided between the takeout experience and the in-house buffet. One reviewer, who explicitly states they have never eaten in-house and is providing a takeout review, expresses high satisfaction. Despite living in Sun City, which is a 20 to 30-minute drive away, they consider Jade Garden to be the "best take out!" They report never being disappointed with their orders, which typically include three combination meals, Chinese donuts, and dragon bites for two people. Their usual order consists of roast pork fried rice, roast pork lo mein, General Tso's chicken, boneless ribs (described as irregular bite-sized pieces of meat in a glorious sauce), spring rolls (lauded as "the best anywhere"), and fortune cookies. This reviewer emphasizes that everything remains hot and fresh upon arrival. They also highlight the generous portions and value, noting that a meal for two, providing enough food for three full servings, costs just over $40 including tax and tip. When adding a third person, an additional combination meal brought the total to around $54, still resulting in a significant amount of leftovers. The reviewer praises the "amazing flavors and value," and mentions the presence of an inside buffet, which they have not personally tried.
In stark contrast, another reviewer recounts a negative experience with the in-house buffet. They visited at 7 pm and found the food on the bar to taste like it had been sitting out for hours and, surprisingly, to be cold on a "hot bar." While they noted that the person at the counter was nice, they described the waitress as having "zero personality" and not speaking to them at all. Furthermore, this reviewer mentioned that the hibachi grill was unattended, which was their primary reason for visiting. They lamented that at least the hibachi food would have been hot. This review paints a concerning picture of the buffet's food quality and temperature, as well as the in-house service and the availability of the hibachi grill.
Given these divergent experiences, it is essential for potential customers to consider whether they are primarily interested in takeout or the in-house dining options. The positive takeout review suggests that Jade Garden may excel in preparing and packaging food for off-site consumption, maintaining quality and temperature during transit. However, the negative buffet review raises significant concerns about the freshness, temperature, and service associated with the in-house dining experience, particularly later in the evening.
To provide a more detailed understanding of what Jade Garden offers, let's consider the typical aspects of a Chinese restaurant with takeout, buffet, and potential hibachi services:
Environment: Based on the reviews, we can infer that Jade Garden has a physical location with a dining area that includes a buffet and possibly a hibachi grill. The decor and ambiance are not described in detail, but it likely aims to be a casual and functional space to accommodate both buffet diners and those waiting for takeout orders. The mention of a "hot bar" in the negative review suggests a standard buffet setup with warming trays. The lack of attention to the hibachi grill at 7 pm in the same review might indicate that the hibachi service has specific hours or is not consistently staffed.
Services: Jade Garden appears to offer at least two primary services:
- Takeout: This seems to be a strong aspect of their service, as highlighted by the highly positive review from a regular takeout customer. They efficiently prepare combination meals and other items that travel well and maintain their quality.
- Buffet: Jade Garden features an in-house buffet, which, based on one customer's experience, may have issues with food freshness and temperature, particularly later in the evening. The variety of items available on the buffet is not detailed in the reviews.
- Potential Hibachi: The mention of an unattended hibachi grill suggests that this service might be offered, but its availability and operational hours are unclear. Customers interested in hibachi should probably inquire directly.
Features: Based on the customer feedback, we can identify several features of Jade Garden:
- Combination Meals (Takeout): These appear to be a popular and value-oriented option for takeout customers, offering a variety of dishes in one order.
- Specific Praised Dishes (Takeout): The roast pork fried rice, roast pork lo mein, General Tso's chicken, boneless ribs with "glorious sauce," and spring rolls ("the best anywhere") are specifically mentioned as high-quality takeout items.
- Generous Portions and Value (Takeout): The takeout service is described as offering large quantities of food for the price, providing excellent value.
- In-House Buffet: A buffet option is available, but at least one customer experienced issues with the food's freshness and temperature in the evening.
- Chinese Donuts and Dragon Bites (Takeout): These are mentioned as additional items enjoyed by the takeout customer, suggesting a broader menu beyond standard combination meals.
- Potential Hibachi Grill: The presence of a hibachi grill indicates that this style of cooking might be offered, but its reliability and service quality are questionable based on one review.
Promotional Information: The provided information does not explicitly mention any ongoing promotions or discounts at Jade Garden. Restaurants often have lunch specials, early bird discounts for buffets, or special offers for takeout orders. Local users interested in potential deals should contact Jade Garden directly at the provided phone numbers to inquire about any current promotions they might be running for either their takeout or in-house dining options. It might also be worth asking about the hours of operation for the hibachi grill if that is of interest.
In conclusion, Jade Garden in Bluffton, SC, offers both takeout and in-house dining options, including a buffet and potentially a hibachi grill. Customer reviews present a stark contrast between the highly praised takeout service, noted for its delicious food, generous portions, and excellent value, and a concerning experience with the in-house buffet, where food freshness and temperature were significant issues. The availability and service of the hibachi grill are also uncertain based on the provided feedback. Local users considering Jade Garden should take these differing experiences into account. If takeout is their primary interest, the reviews suggest a positive experience. However, those considering the buffet or hibachi should perhaps inquire further about the current quality and service to make an informed decision.

Please note we have never eaten in house. This is a takeout review. Although we live in Sun City, and takes anywhere between 20 and 30 minutes to get there, we have found Jade Garden to be the best take out! We have never been disappointed. We usually order three combination meals along with Chinese donuts and dragon bites for the two of us. We have roast pork fried rice, roast pork lo mein, General Tso, boneless ribs, (which are irregular bite size pieces of meat in a glorious sauce), served with spring rolls, (the best anywhere), and fortune cookies. Everything remains hot and fresh. We have enough food for 3 full meals for the two of us for just over $40 including tax and tip. When we added an extra person this evening we added an extra combination meal for $54 and change. We seemed to pack as much into the fridge as we had come home with. Amazing flavors and value! There is an inside buffet, but we have never eaten there.
At 7pm the food on the bar tasted like it had been there for hours, not to mention cold which I still don't understand how most of it was cold on a "hot bar" guy at the counter was nice but the waitress had zero personality and did not even speak to me one time. The hibachi grill was not attended to one moment, which is what I really came there for. At least my food Would have been hot ...
Ok food ok service old decor for 20 years ago. Don't get me wrong I still consider Jade Garden as the old stand by of Asian buffet food. The menu options are the same as many years ago right down to the placement of them on the buffet. It is strangely comfort food in a way. Harkening back to times where groups of my friends would gather for dinner before going to Savannah up hit the clubs. The food provides adequate nutrition and a healthy portion of reminiscing. Take those things into consideration and you will love it.
I just went to Jade Garden for the first time in years. People say food is cold and crusty. That’s just plain wrong. Every tray on every steam table was steaming. The food was fresh. I don’t care much about the traditional Chinese fare. Steamed flounder, cheesy crab, mussels, shrimp and sushi were excellent. And the table attendant was great. Some people just like to complain.
The only reason we had a good time is because we were together. It was obvious that the food wasn’t fresh. The food was hard like it was under the lights all day. The waitresses wouldn’t refill our drinks nor would they clear the dishes from our table. They acted like it bothered them to do their job.
