About Jade Garden
Jade Garden is a Chinese restaurant located at 2034 E 38th St in Erie, Pennsylvania. Based on recent customer feedback, it appears that Jade Garden currently operates as a takeout-only establishment, as the dine-in area is reportedly used for storage.
Customer reviews indicate significant concerns regarding the food quality. One customer who ordered General Tso Chicken reported receiving a dish with very little chicken, mostly consisting of "crunchy bread" with only about 10% chicken. While they found the sauce and the texture of the non-chicken bites to be good, they expressed strong dissatisfaction with the lack of chicken and stated they would not return, recommending that others spend more money elsewhere.
Another reviewer noted discrepancies compared to older information found online, mentioning that Jade Garden is no longer a buffet and is solely focused on takeout. This customer also reported several issues with their order, including the absence of sweet and sour sauce, a different-tasting duck sauce, dry and yellow (possibly curry-flavored) pork fried rice, an unremarkable shrimp egg roll, a thick soy sauce-like dark gravy for the mushroom egg foo yung, and a disappointing egg drop soup.
For those considering ordering from Jade Garden, the phone number is (814) 825-7788, and the mobile phone number is +1 814-825-7788. However, potential customers should carefully consider the recent negative feedback regarding the proportion of ingredients, overall food quality, and changes in service (from buffet/dine-in to takeout only) when making their decision.

We ordered General Tso Chicken. We got General Tso with almost NO chicken. The sauce is actually pretty good and the texture of the bites of “non chicken” are actually a good crispy texture. I will never go back though because… what did I just pay for? Crunchy bread with about 10% chicken?!?? There are better places. Pay a bit more and go elsewhere. Unfortunately this went in the trash.
According to the TripAdvisor pics this was shown to be a buffet. Jade Garden has been reduced to take out only. Not even dine in. That space is used for storage. See pics. No sweet sour sauce... Duck sauce completely different. Pork fried rice was cooked and dry and yellow (curry?). Shrimp Egg roll, eh. Dark gravy for mushroom egg foo yung was thick soy sauce. Egg drop soup was disappointing too.
This used to be my spot when I lived on East Grandview it is wheelchair accesible with single manual entry door did not have Wi-Fi last time I was there , has high chairs . I am creature of habit house special Singapore mei fun is my goto dish meat , shrimp & vegetables with rice noodles in a spicy curry sauce , we got it delivered ( being into spicy this dish is barely a 2 in heat for me , but it has great intense flavor ) I have had it other places that’s closer to 4 or sometimes 5 . It’s a very enjoyable dish . I went one night late for egg roll craving and it cost me $2,000 as the steering column went I walked him eating my egg rolls , yes once upon a time I walked and drove , today I am “all roll no stroll and no driving “ . In the early 2000 Jade had a fabulous Mongolian barbeque also .under questions it always asks if a place is “comfort food “ I know what average people think and then there’s me . I still am a “celebrity” at a Chinese restaurant , they know me on sight ( my sister also ) because they remember my mom and dad celebrating my mom being pregnant with both of us and they remember us eating our 1 st solid food as babies , my parents favorite dish they always ordered was sweet and sour chicken with leeches (to the Chinese it is a nut ,to an American it’s a fruit ,to me that’s heaven unusual dish very hard to find , that’s my comfort food that’s my on ramp to nostalgia , sorry soul food & Mac n cheese and sweet potato pie I do love all of you in your own right but my comfort food is stuff I was eating in the womb and beyond .
Got 2 buffets and 2 teas for a total of 16.98$ very nice atmosphere, quick service, and great attention to the buffet items.
It’s alright. One of my go to restaurants but it’s only take out. It used to be a buffet I guess but not anymore due to covid. I’m giving a 4 star just because some of the food items like the fried rice is dry but that’s about it. Nice staff though. :) Go for lunch they have a lunch special and it’s my favorite.
