About Jade China Restaurant

Jade China Restaurant, situated at 2524 Berryessa Rd in San Jose, California, is a local establishment within the Chinese Restaurant category that has garnered attention, particularly as a "popular spot for Chinese takeout." Based on recent customer reviews, we can piece together a detailed introduction for local users, providing insights into its environment (primarily from a takeout perspective), services, features, and the general sentiment regarding its food quality.

One of the first impressions noted by a recent customer was the activity surrounding Jade China Restaurant. They observed that the parking lot was "very busy," especially during the evening pickup time. This high volume of traffic suggests that the restaurant enjoys a significant local following and is a preferred choice for many seeking Chinese takeout in the area. While a busy parking lot might present a slight challenge in finding a parking spot, it is often interpreted as an indicator of a restaurant's popularity and the consistent demand for its food.

Upon entering the restaurant, the same reviewer noted a "line of customers waiting to place their orders," further confirming the restaurant's popularity and strong local following. This suggests that Jade China Restaurant experiences a steady stream of takeout orders, which could imply efficiency in their takeout service to manage such volumes. While waiting in line might be expected during peak hours, the fact that customers are willing to do so speaks to the perceived quality or value offered by the restaurant.

In terms of services, Jade China Restaurant primarily seems to cater to takeout, as highlighted by the reviews. However, the presence of a line for ordering suggests that they likely have a system in place for handling walk-in takeout orders efficiently. One reviewer specifically mentioned that despite the crowd, the "service was efficient," and their food was ready in a "reasonable amount of time." This indicates that the restaurant is equipped to handle a high volume of orders without compromising significantly on the speed of service, which is crucial for takeout customers.

The features of Jade China Restaurant can be best understood through the variety of dishes that received specific mentions in the positive review. The "Spicy Eggplant" was lauded for its "perfect balance of heat and flavor," with just the right amount of spice and an excellent texture that was both tender and not mushy. This suggests that the restaurant pays attention to the nuances of flavor profiles and the proper cooking of vegetables, a hallmark of good Chinese cuisine.

The "Mixed Vegetables" dish was also praised for being "fresh and cooked just right," retaining their natural crunch and flavor, avoiding the common pitfalls of blandness or overcooking. This highlights the restaurant's ability to handle simple vegetable dishes well, indicating a focus on ingredient quality and proper cooking techniques.

The "Chinese Chicken Salad" was another highlight, described as "crisp, tasty, and well-balanced" with a flavorful dressing. The combination of fresh vegetables, chicken, and crispy wonton strips made it a "refreshing and satisfying dish." This suggests a well-executed cold dish, offering a different textural and flavor experience compared to the hot entrees.

For appetizers, the reviewer enjoyed the "Sesame Balls," noting their "nice outer crunch" and "soft, chewy center with a hint of sweetness." The "Crab Rangoon" was also well-received for its "crispy exterior and a creamy, flavorful filling that wasn’t too heavy or greasy." These positive comments on the appetizers indicate a good range and quality in their smaller offerings as well.

The "Chow Fun with chicken" was described as a "solid choice," with well-cooked noodles and a good balance of flavors, along with tender chicken and a satisfying texture. This suggests that their noodle dishes are also competently prepared.

However, it is important to note that not all feedback was entirely positive. One customer reported a negative experience with a "simple chicken fried rice" that lacked flavor and contained what appeared to be undercooked chicken with a lot of skin. This same reviewer also mentioned that a drink they ordered and paid for was not included in their order. This negative feedback highlights potential inconsistencies in food quality and order accuracy, which local users should be aware of.

Considering the balance of reviews, Jade China Restaurant seems to be a popular choice for takeout, appreciated for its efficient service and well-prepared dishes like the Spicy Eggplant, Mixed Vegetables, Chinese Chicken Salad, Sesame Balls, Crab Rangoon, and Chow Fun with chicken. The busy parking lot and the line of customers suggest a strong local following. However, the negative review regarding the chicken fried rice and the missing item indicates that there might be inconsistencies in food quality or order accuracy that some customers may experience.

Currently, there is no promotional information available in the provided reviews. Local users interested in any special offers or promotions at Jade China Restaurant would need to contact them directly at (408) 923-6288 or +1 408-923-6288 to inquire. Many Chinese restaurants offer lunch specials or family meal deals, and it would be beneficial to check if Jade China Restaurant has any such offers.

In conclusion, Jade China Restaurant in San Jose appears to be a favored spot for Chinese takeout, praised for its efficient service and several flavorful and well-prepared dishes. The high volume of customers suggests a generally positive reputation within the local community. However, potential customers should also be aware of the possibility of inconsistencies in food quality and order accuracy, as indicated by at least one recent review. For local users seeking Chinese takeout in the Berryessa area of San Jose, Jade China Restaurant is worth considering, perhaps with the awareness to double-check their orders for accuracy.

Food is unfortunately bad. A simple chicken fried rice had no flavor, just carrots and peas, and the chicken looked undercooked, like a slimy piece of fish, with a lot of skin. They also didn’t include the drink that I ordered and paid for.

Jade China Restaurant is a popular spot for Chinese takeout. I stopped by in the evening to pick up some food, and the first thing I noticed was how busy the parking lot was. It can be a bit challenging to find a spot, but that’s usually a good sign of a well-loved restaurant. Sure enough, when I walked in, there was a line of customers waiting to place their orders, confirming that this place has a strong following. I ordered a variety of dishes to get a good sense of the menu, including Spicy Eggplant, Mixed Vegetables, Chinese Chicken Salad, Sesame Balls, Crab Rangoon, and Chow Fun with chicken. Despite the crowd, the service was efficient, and my food was ready in a reasonable amount of time. The Spicy Eggplant stood out with its perfect balance of heat and flavor. It had just the right amount of spice without being overwhelming, and the texture was excellent—tender yet not mushy. The Mixed Vegetables were fresh and cooked just right, retaining their natural crunch and flavor. Sometimes mixed vegetable dishes can be bland or overcooked, but that was not the case here. The Chinese Chicken Salad was another highlight. It was crisp, tasty, and well-balanced with a flavorful dressing that tied everything together. The combination of fresh vegetables, chicken, and crispy wonton strips made for a refreshing and satisfying dish. For appetizers, I tried the Sesame Balls and Crab Rangoon. The Sesame Balls were delightful, with a nice outer crunch that gave way to a soft, chewy center with a hint of sweetness. The Crab Rangoon had a crispy exterior and a creamy, flavorful filling that wasn’t too heavy or greasy. The Chow Fun with chicken was a solid choice as well. The noodles were cooked well, and the dish had a good balance of flavors, with tender chicken and a satisfying texture. Overall, I was very pleased with my meal. The food was fresh, flavorful, and well-prepared. While the parking situation and the wait times might be a slight inconvenience, the quality of the food makes it well worth it. I’d definitely return to Jade China Restaurant for another delicious takeout experience!

We were staying nearby and so we stopped by here for dinner. We ordered a few of the combination plates. The chowmien is bland so you may want to request extra sauce or some siracha for additional flavor. The sweet and sour pork and fried rice tasted fine. Lots more items on the menu but there wasn’t enough time to try them out. The drink variety was limited. The lobby is quiet because most people are ordering take-out. You can also order online and then pickup when ready.

We ordered at the restaurant and it was pretty quick. The portions were really big for the price! The house chowmein was bland and was missing meats. The “pork” looked like sliced ham and wasn’t appetizing. The other items were delicious.

The food is average. If you're in a crunch, it does its job. It's not a place for dine in despite having tables. They don't have cups for water (you can buy bottled water), no plates (only super cheap basic paper plates), and not v clean.
