About Jade China Restaurant

Jade China Restaurant, located on California Oaks Rd in Murrieta, presents itself as a Chinese restaurant offering authentic flavors in a cozy setting. However, recent customer reviews indicate a potentially inconsistent dining experience.

One review highlights several features that contributed to a pleasant surprise, including crispy calamari, exceptionally good salt and pepper chicken, tender Mongolian beef, and General Chow Chicken with a good level of spice. The quality of the white rice was also noted positively. This experience suggests that Jade China can deliver flavorful and well-prepared dishes.

In contrast, a more recent review (dated June 16, 2023) expresses disappointment, citing changes possibly due to multiple ownership/management transitions since the restaurant's opening. This customer ordered familiar dishes like chicken wings, egg drop soup, and sweet and sour pork (without calamari) and experienced several issues. The service was confusing, with a lunch portion of soup served in an individual bowl despite ordering a la carte, and the sweet and sour pork being presented as part of a combo meal with chow mein and rice. The presentation of traditionally shared dishes as individual servings was unexpected.

The quality of the food was also a concern in the negative review. The sweet and sour pork was described as soggy and room temperature, suggesting it might have been microwaved rather than freshly cooked. The chicken wings, which arrived after the main dishes, tasted old and were not prepared in the restaurant's traditional style.

Regarding the environment, one review mentions a "cozy ambiance," suggesting a comfortable setting for dining. However, the more critical review does not provide specific details about the restaurant's atmosphere.

Currently, there is no specific promotional information available in the provided reviews. Local users considering Jade China Restaurant should be aware of the contrasting experiences reported by customers, with some praising the authentic flavors and friendly service, while a more recent review indicates potential inconsistencies in service, presentation, and food quality. It may be prudent to consider the date of the reviews when evaluating the current state of the restaurant.

"Jade China offered a pleasant surprise in Murrieta with its cozy ambiance and authentic Chinese flavors. From crispy calamari to the best salt and pepper chicken we've tasted, each dish left us impressed. The Mongolian beef was tender, and the General Chow Chicken had just the right amount of spice. The quality of the white rice was good, perfectly complementing our meal. With friendly service and reasonable prices, we'll definitely be returning for more."

Surprised and disappointed. That sums up our latest experience at Jade China (June 16 2023). As in my previous review, we have been coming here since it first opened and noticed how many times ownership/management has changed... because the menu items we order never changed, but the service, dish presentation, and portions have. Today, we ordered the same... chicken wings, egg drop soup, and sweet sour pork (minus calamari). The server asked, "Would you like the lunch portion or dinner portion?" I know lunch is smaller-sized, so I picked it. To my surprise, the server placed ONE personal small bowl of the soup. A few minutes later, he came back with A PLATE of SWEET SOUR PORK WITH CHOW MEIN AND A SMALL SCOOP OF RICE. My jaws dropped to the floor. The items we ordered were mostly presented in a serving plate or bowl that can be shared. Besides, I DID NOT order a COMBO MEAL, I ordered A LA CARTE, so why were we served a cup-sized soup and a COMBO MEAL PLATE????? I did not complain. The sweet sour pork was SOGGY and room temperature - kind of obvious it was not freshly-cooked but more likely MICROWAVED. Again, I did not complain. WE WERE ALREADY DONE EATING when the "APPETIZER" CHICKEN WINGS was served. My husband only consumed ONE wing, and I also tried it... ONE wing. The chicken wings tasted OLD, and it was NOT prepared the way Jade China used to prepare it (CORN or TAPIOCA STARCH, NOT flour). That was it. I was done. We were done. This is not the same Jade China we used to enjoy.

We ordered from Jade China to compare it to another Chinese restaurant in our neighborhood. We ordered BBQ pork chow mein, salt and pepper prawns and teriyaki chicken. The teriyaki chicken was delicious with plenty of tender chicken and a few pieces of broccoli, carrots and onions. The shrimp was fried perfectly with the right amount of spice. However, the chow mein was disappointing. It had sauce! All the years of eating chow mein, we never ever had it with any type of liquid. Unless, it's Low Mein, which usually has gravy and we would have preferred more noodles and the veggies were missing. Our search continues to find the perfect Chinese restaurant.

Great delivery service! Very friendly. The food is really good too. Always get the shrimp chow mein soft noodles, cream cheese wontons. They are fast, good price and good portions. Enjoy! Addendum: when dining in the restaurant they actually take the time to box up your food which is a lost and much appreciated service.

We tried this place for the first time as a takeout The cashew chicken was mostly celery with a little bit of chicken and cashews. The flavor was lacking The snow pea chicken and mushroom was, 3/4 snow peas and rest chicken and mushroom. Same with flavor lacking. The fried rice was white rice with 2 drops of soy sauce and small flakes of dry egg. Like the spread out the egg really thin. The fortune cookies were not individually packaged and bad. Super chewy and not crunchy. The egg rolls were good, I really liked those. The orange chicken wasn't that bad. Looks like they used the cheap vegetables as filler and didn't use alot of sauce to save money. Think this one is a hard pass next time we get Chinese!! Picture is one scoop of snow pea chicken.
