About J & E
J & E is a Chinese restaurant located at 2537 24th St in San Francisco, California. As a local establishment within the Chinese Restaurant category, J & E offers a variety of Chinese dishes for the community. Based on recent customer feedback available online, experiences at J & E appear to be varied, with some customers reporting positive aspects while others express significant dissatisfaction.
Regarding the environment, one reviewer noted the presence of indoor tables for seating, suggesting that J & E offers a dine-in option for customers. However, no further details about the ambiance, decor, or overall atmosphere of the restaurant are provided in the available reviews. Therefore, potential customers may need to visit the location to form their own impression of the dining environment.
The service at J & E has received mixed reviews. One customer who placed a phone order described the worker as "impatient and unfriendly," expressing annoyance at their questions. This negative experience during the ordering process may deter some potential customers. In contrast, the review that praised the food did not explicitly comment on the service, neither commending nor criticizing it. This lack of consistent feedback makes it challenging to form a definitive assessment of the typical service experience at J & E. Customers may encounter varying levels of attentiveness and helpfulness depending on the specific circumstances and staff on duty.
In terms of features, one positive aspect highlighted by a customer was the temperature and freshness of some of the dishes. The reviewer who ordered the orange chicken over rice and the green bean and chicken over rice mentioned that the food was "piping, hot and fresh" and not overly salted. This suggests that J & E is capable of preparing dishes that meet basic expectations of freshness and proper seasoning. However, another customer had a significantly negative experience with the pan-fried noodles, describing them as having a "watery consistency" and a "completely bland and unremarkable" taste. This stark contrast in food quality experiences indicates a potential inconsistency in J & E's food preparation or the quality of different menu items. The availability and quality of specific dishes, such as the pan-fried noodles, may vary.
Currently, there is no promotional information available for J & E based on the provided data. The reviews do not mention any discounts, special offers, or ongoing promotions. Customers interested in learning about any potential deals or specials are advised to contact the restaurant directly at (415) 282-5177 or +1 415-282-5177. Without specific promotional details, potential customers will likely base their decision on the general reviews and their own preferences.
The contrasting reviews present a somewhat unclear picture of the overall dining experience at J & E. While one customer enjoyed their meal, highlighting the freshness and temperature of the food, another customer expressed strong disappointment with the quality of a specific dish and the perceived rudeness of the staff during a phone order. This suggests that the quality of food and service may not be consistently high across all menu items and customer interactions. Potential customers should be aware of these differing experiences when considering J & E as a dining option.
Given the limited and mixed information available, it is difficult to provide a comprehensive and definitively positive or negative introduction to J & E. The restaurant offers indoor seating and aims to serve hot and fresh food, at least according to one positive review. However, concerns have been raised regarding the consistency of food quality and the friendliness of the service. Customers looking for a Chinese restaurant in the 24th Street area of San Francisco may want to weigh these points carefully. The negative review strongly discourages patronage, while the positive review suggests that satisfactory meals can be obtained. Further investigation or perhaps trying a few different dishes might be necessary to form a more complete understanding of what J & E offers.
In conclusion, J & E Chinese Restaurant on 24th Street in San Francisco is a local dining option that has received varied feedback from its customers. While some patrons have found the food to be hot and fresh, others have experienced issues with food quality and service. Potential customers are advised to consider these mixed reviews and perhaps try the restaurant for themselves to determine if it meets their expectations for Chinese cuisine in San Francisco. It may be prudent to inquire about specific dishes and the current service standards before placing an order or visiting the establishment.

Went in on a Saturday night! Partner and I got the orange chicken over rice and the green bean and chicken over rice. Food was piping, hot and fresh. not overly salted as well. There are indoor tables for seating.
I visited E & J with high hopes of trying their pan-fried noodles, but unfortunately, my experience was far from satisfactory. Firstly, when I called to place my order, the worker on the phone seemed impatient and unfriendly, clearly annoyed by my questions. Despite this, I decided to give them the benefit of the doubt and proceeded with my order. Upon picking up my food and returning home, I eagerly dug into the pan-fried noodles, only to be met with sheer disappointment. The noodles had a watery consistency that was far from appetizing, and the taste was completely bland and unremarkable. Overall, I regret spending my money here and would strongly discourage anyone else from doing the same. E & J failed to meet even the most basic expectations, and I will certainly not be returning. Save your time and money and look elsewhere for a better dining experience.
Giving this review because I found a hair in my food twice. First time I let it go, but second time I found a very long hair attached to an orange chicken piece. I hate to have to do this, I think their food is good, but food production seems to be poor since this is happening again.
For a quick lunch, this is exactly the place I’m looking for. Straightforward and the food was delicious. The beef was tender and pork bbq fried rice was well seasoned. Also a five minute walk from the general hospital. Did I say it was so cheap?
Food was Horrible. Place is dirty and dingy. Ordered Egg rolls, BBQ pork fried rice, and sweet and sour chicken. The sweet and sour chicken had an overwhelming taste of shrimp as if the chicken was deep fried in shrimp grease. The rice was so bland and tasted funny. The egg rolls were okay, but only because they were probably commercially prepared. Maybe we caught them on a bad day. We sure won't go back. The atmosphere is a D, and the food was a D-.
