About ixlb Dimsum Eats

Located at 5900 W Sunset Blvd in Los Angeles, ixlb Dimsum Eats is a Chinese restaurant specializing in dim sum. Customers have found this spot to be a surprisingly good value, with one reviewer noting that a substantial order cost around $32 in total. The service is also reported to be quick, with food arriving approximately 5-10 minutes after ordering.

A standout item seems to be the shui mai, described as massive, juicy, and packed with umami. Similarly, the prawn dumplings are praised for being generously wrapped and fresh ("鮮"). However, one reviewer noted that the xiaolongbaos appeared to lack a significant amount of soup inside, and some of the har gao skins were broken and lumpy, suggesting a potentially older batch.

On a more positive note, the egg tarts were well-received, described as "very good." Customers also appreciated the provision of chili crisp, soy sauce, and ginger sauce (specifically for the xlb), as well as sweet soy sauce on the side. The restaurant appears to be primarily oriented towards takeaway, with seating available as a secondary option, as only napkins were provided at the tables.

Overall, ixlb Dimsum Eats is considered an "unexpected gem" in the area, with high recommendations from satisfied customers. The use of foil packaging to keep the dim sum warm and fresh is a notable feature. The serving sizes and flavors are consistently praised for hitting the spot. One customer particularly enjoyed the spicy shrimp wontons, which contained big chunks of shrimp, and also complimented the super friendly staff.

Surprisingly good for the price, everything in the picture was about 32 total Food was served in about 5-10 mins after ordering The shui mai was massive, juicy and packed with umami. The prawn dumplings likewise were very generously wrapped and 鮮 Unfortunately the xiaolongbaos did not appear to have much soup inside. Some of the har gao skins were broken and lumpy, perhaps we had an older batch? Egg tarts were also very good I appreciated the provided chili crisp, soy sauce and ginger sauce (for the xlb) as well as the sweet soy sauce provided on the side. It appears this place is oriented around taking away with seating to eat as a secondary purpose (only napkins were provided at the table). Overall, this is definitely an unexpected gem in the area and I would highly recommend. I love that they served the dim sum in foil which allowed the heat to stay in and keep it all fresh. The serving size and flavor definitely hit the spot.

Quick service, great staff and the food....OMG...the food. I've had Dim Sum plenty of times and it was good. This...this was GREAT. Pricing was pretty fair too. We were smiling the whole time that we were eating

Food was SO good! I had been looking for a place with Xiao long bao, the dumplings with the soup INSIDE the bao, and these were perfect! I ordered a cold garlic noodle salad that ended up coming out hot and asked the man about it to make sure I didn't get the wrong thing and he brought me another cold one after I already started eating the warm one that was actually still really good warm. So that was nice to eat later that night in my hotel room. The last thing I got was the fried shrimp wonton w/ Chili Oil and they were big, plump and tasty shrimp! All these things had real tasty sauces and toppers too! I wanted to go back, but my travel buddy had a good point about trying a bunch of different things since we were in a good food paradise!

I wish the food were better. Soup dumplings had tough exterior, little soup, and gristly meat. Wontons in spicy oil were thick, tasteless patties. Pork buns were sickeningly sweet. Cabbage was flavorless. Four misses for four tries -- edible if starving, but zero reason to go back.
