About ixlb DimSum Eats

ixlb DimSum Eats, situated at 10905 Lindbrook Dr in Los Angeles, presents itself as a Chinese Restaurant with a focus on dim sum and USese flavors. The unique name has prompted curiosity among customers, with various pronunciations considered.

Initial positive impressions highlight the freshness of certain dishes. The USese cabbage, vegetarian baos, and especially the steamed seafood pearls have been lauded for their quality. The seafood pearls are described as juicy, bouncy, and flavorful. While the cabbage and baos might benefit from added sauce, the overall freshness is appreciated. The staff, particularly Jenny at the front, have been noted for their helpfulness in explaining the menu for takeout orders.

A recurring concern mentioned by a customer is the restaurant's use of plastic for takeout containers, even for dine-in orders. This was seen as wasteful, especially since outdoor seating was available, and no plates were offered for on-site dining.

Contrasting experiences exist regarding the value and quality. One review mentioned a higher overall cost and expressed disappointment with the policy of charging extra for sauces like soy sauce, Sriracha, and chili oil. This customer recommended bringing your own sauces.

In terms of food quality, opinions vary. The spring rolls received high praise. Vegetable dumplings and bao dumplings were considered decent, while the chicken over rice, garlic noodles, and chow mein were described as okay. However, the shrimp dumplings were found disappointing, with only the fried version recommended. The rice ball dumpling was particularly disliked. This reviewer concluded that the meal was largely subpar considering the price and flavor, suggesting exploring other options.

Most concerning is a report of food poisoning experienced by members of a dining party who consumed shrimp dumplings. These individuals reported feeling unwell shortly after the meal. Therefore, caution is advised when ordering certain seafood items.

For those considering ixlb DimSum Eats, it appears that some dishes, particularly the steamed items and spring rolls, have received positive feedback for freshness and taste. However, potential drawbacks include additional charges for sauces, the use of takeout containers for dine-in, and reported inconsistencies in food quality, including a serious concern about food safety related to shrimp dishes. It is recommended to consider these varied experiences when making a decision.

How do you pronounce this business? 9LB? iXlb? Is it latin? Aztec? Taiwaztec? I don’t know but I love it. Just visited this restaurant for the first time and left totally blown away. I ordered the Taiwanese cabbage, the vegetarian baos, and the steamed seafood pearls, and omg the food is so fresh. The steamed seafood pearls are the best: juicy and bouncy. The taste is beyond. The cabbage and the baos need a little dressing up with the sauce, but overall super fresh and healthy. I ordered to go and Jenny at the front was really nice in explaining the menu to me. Will definitely come back to try the fried dumplings and different baos. A++ recommend. One note: they do use a lot of plastic. I’m aware that a lot of the food is steamed and comes out super hot. Maybe there’s a different type of serving set they could phase to in the future that is less harmful for the environment.

I had seen an overwhelmingly positive review of this place and thus felt optimistic about trying it out. For one, it was over a hundred dollars for everything, which would usually be fair in Westwood, but I should have known something would be wrong with the stinginess of the sauce. They charged about 2-3 dollars for sauces (soy sauce, Sriracha, chili oil, etc), so if you decide to eat here, I just recommend bringing your sauces from home. Second, we dined in, and the food was still brought out to us in to go containers despite them having seating outdoors. This was disappointing as it felt rather wasteful. Third, there were no plates they could give us to eat right there. The actual food: My groups' order consisted of half vegetarian and half meat (shrimp and chicken). Hands down, their spring roll tasted amazing and started off the meal with high hopes, so I fully recommend that. The vegetable dumplings and vegetable bao dumlings were decent. The chicken over rice was also okay. The garlic noodles and chow mein were okay. However, the shrimp dumplings were disappointing. I would only recommend the fried shrimp dumplings. I would not recommend the rice ball dumpling as that was not good. It tasted weird. Overall, I walked away disappointed with the meal as most of it was subpar. Sure, some things didn't taste terrible, but for the portion, pricing, and flavor, I would seek out other places before coming here. For transparency, the vegetable options were typically 7 dollars for 4 dumplings. The vegetarian options were okay. However, those in my party that ate the shrimp containing dumplings developed food poisoning. This was the only meal we had had at the point of developing symptoms. Those who had eaten the shrimp had even noted a weird feeling in their stomach, which proceeded to throwing up. If you're coming to eat here, just be careful.

What a hidden gem!! I had fast food expectations...but this is top 3 dim sum I've ever had. All the dumplings were delicious, fresh, and authentic. There was a good varied menu and it was easy to order at the kiosk. Service was fast, and folks were very friendly. I will recommend this spot to any locals, and hopefully, I will be back soon myself!

Holy crow! This place is VERY GOOD! The food is so delicious, FRESH, and AFFORDABLE! This place checks ALLLL the boxes. I ordered the Chicken on Rice bowl and it was absolutely delicious! What did it set me back? A paltry SIX BUCKS! WOW! That’s a good deal. I planned on taking a picture of my food for this review but it was so good that I accidentally COMPLETELY CONSUMED it before I had the chance to. I guess you’ll just have to trust me on this one, pal.

This place gets it done. The vegetarian options for dim sum never disappoint. What was even more impressive is that we accidentally ordered this location instead of their Hollywood location, and they called the Hollywood location and was able to fulfill our order for us to pick up there. They go above and beyond for their customers, ensuring that we get our food, get it quickly, and that everything was correct. I truly cannot be happier to be a customer here.
