About It's a Utica Thing! Kitchen & Bar

It's a Utica Thing! Kitchen & Bar, situated in the parking lot at 350 Leland Ave in Utica, NY, offers a local dining experience with a diverse menu. They can be contacted at (315) 738-8946 or +1 315-738-8946.

Customer reviews suggest a generally positive experience at this establishment. One reviewer expressed surprise, initially expecting an "overrated Italian restaurant" but found a server/bartender who was "awesome" and an ambiance described as "just perfect" with its lighting and music. While they praised the perfectly cooked wings and the great sauce on the pizza, they noted that the pizza dough was undercooked with a layer of uncooked dough on top. They also found the wine to be reasonably priced.

Another customer described the food as "pretty good" and appreciated the "bright clean atmosphere" and the "fun and friendly staff." They particularly enjoyed the greens, comparing them favorably to those at Georgio's. This reviewer also mentioned trying the riggies, lasagna, and chicken parm, finding all to be tasty. The well-stocked bar was also noted as a reason to return with friends for drinks. The only drawback mentioned by this reviewer was the music being "oddly loud," which led to a four-star rating despite an otherwise great experience.

While the platform categorizes this as a Chinese Restaurant, customer feedback highlights a menu that includes items like wings, pizza, greens, riggies, lasagna, and chicken parm, suggesting a broader offering beyond traditional Chinese cuisine. The atmosphere is described as bright and clean, with friendly service. Potential local patrons can expect a varied menu in a pleasant setting, though some have noted minor inconsistencies with food preparation and music volume.

Very surprised. Expected another overrated Italian restaurant. Server/bartender awesome. Ambience was just perfect with lighting and music. Wings cooked perfect. Pizza, great sauce but undercooked. Layer of uncooked dough on top. Wine is reasonable

Some pretty good food here. Bright clean atmosphere and a fun and friendly staff. The greens were damn good, maybe close to Georgios? I tried everything at the table and everything was tasty: riggies, lasagna and chicken parm. The bar looked well stocked so I need to go back with friends and have a few drinks. The only reason for 4 stars was the music which was oddly loud, otherwise it was a great experience

Came for our daughter's 27th birthday last night, food was delicious especially the smash burger special with truffle and Swiss!! Waitstaff were very attentive and sweet even bringing her a birthday cannolli with a candle. The place is tastefully decorated and modern, drinks were delicious and we will be back for sure

This was our first time dining here. We were pleasantly surprised when we walked in. The place was nicely decorated and you have your choice of tables or booths. We were greeted immediately and were seated right away. We asked about calamari (it was not on the lunch menu), the waitress assured us they would make it for us. We had the calamari appetizer. It was nicely cooked and served with two dipping sauces. Both were excellent!! My wife order the eggplant parmigiana and she said it was excellent. I had the chicken parmigiana with a side of pasta , both excellent. Based on our experience we will definitely be back. We highly recommend it.

I stopped here to get soup for my sick wife and 7 year old son. It was a “to go” order and when I arrived, the phone was ringing and the server was sitting down in a both with 3 other people looking at menus. I stood there (while the phone was ringing) and waited to be noticed which took several moments. My order was taken for 3 cups of soup and I was told that it would be “5 minutes or less” as the restaurant was not busy and there was only one table. I ended up waiting for 15 minutes (which may have not been anyone’s fault) but when I did get my order it was in a plastic bag but there were no spoons, napkins, etc. I asked for these items and it was provided. It looked like a great little place, but 15 minutes for 3 cups of soup and no spoons and the like? It was disappointing.
