About International Buffet

As a platform featuring Chinese Restaurants, we'd like to provide you with an objective overview of International Buffet, located at 4827 L St in Omaha, based on recent customer feedback. This restaurant operates as a buffet offering a variety of international cuisine, though some reviews suggest it leans heavily towards Chinese-style dishes.

Customer experiences at International Buffet appear to be mixed. One recent review expressed significant dissatisfaction, stating that most of the food was cold and that the variety was lacking for an "international" buffet. This reviewer also noted a lack of labels, making it difficult to identify dishes, and was disappointed by the dessert options, which were limited to jello and pudding. Concerns were raised about food safety, with mention of dry jello and yellow-colored chicken. Furthermore, this customer reported poor service, with dirty plates not being cleared from their table for an hour and staff seemingly idle while help was needed. They strongly advised against dining at International Buffet, citing unprofessionalism and potential health hazards.

Conversely, another customer had a more neutral experience, giving the buffet a rating of 4 stars, describing it as what one might expect from a Chinese buffet. This reviewer visited around 11:30 AM on a Wednesday and found the food to be fresh and the environment clean at that time. The lunch price was $11.50 after tax. They also noted a lack of labels for some items, requiring guesswork. This customer did not experience added gratuity for a small table but mentioned suggested tip amounts on the receipt, which they considered a common practice.

Overall, feedback on International Buffet is varied. While one customer found it acceptable for a quick lunch with fresh food during a specific time, another reported significant issues with food quality, variety, labeling, service, and cleanliness. It is advisable to consider these differing experiences when deciding whether to dine at International Buffet.

I am giving this place a 4. It’s what you would expect for Chinese buffet. I came around 11:30 so things were fresh and clean while I was there. It was lunch on Wednesday and it was $11.50 after tax. There were not too many labels so a couple of the items I had to guess. Someone mentioned on reviews that they added gratuity. Perhaps on a larger table, but not for a couple. There are suggestions for tips on the receipt, but a lot of places are doing that now if someone does not want to do the math. For me it was a quick lunch near work.

Honestly if you’re considering this place, don’t. The food is a total mystery, it’s hard to visually identify the dishes. The chicken wings were unrecognizable And May have to do in part with the size being so small. The food was cold and nothing was fresh. Most of it was very dry and “hard” being honest it seemed like it had been on the buffet since yesterday. The workers were wearing jackets because it’s so cold in here. Maybe an issue today with their heater 🤷‍♀️ I did give it 2 stars because the fried plantains were good and the cashier was nice even though the buffet food was close to inedible. Maybe their order/take out is better if you don’t order what’s on the buffet?

This place is a solid "meh" 3. The food was okay, but nothing spectacular. The egg drop soup was good, but needed more salt. The black pepper chicken was decent. The crab Rangoon were small, dry and tasted a little weird. Idk if it was the cream cheese or maybe the oil they fry them in. The sweet and sour chicken was not crispy and a little stale. The spring rolls weren't hot. The place is nice and has potential, but the recipes need adjusted and the presentation of the buffet could use an update for sure. The salad bar is small and not a lot of choice. Too much space dedicated to dessert items. 3 kinds of jello as well as 3 kinds of pudding is overkill when most buffets have 1 of each. Thar space could be better utilized for other items. Their one good quality is that they did still have boiled eggs and did not appear to have an upcharge for still having them. I probably won't come.back as it's a little out of the way of my normal haunts, but it also wasn't so bad as to warrant a single star.

Came to have dinner with my sister & I was not disappointed. Everything was absolutely delicious! We ate fried plantains, delicious mussels, shrimp, crawfish beef w/broccoli & much more. It was my first time coming to the restaurant & definitely will not be my last.
