When I ordered my dinner, I specifically said that I would like the Hibachi shrimp w/fried rice (no veggies.) My waitress: “the meal comes with noodles among other regular items like soup, salad.” I was okay with everything except the noodles because I didn’t want any. The waitress was VERY persistent about serving me the noodles that I already mentioned that I did not want 2 times. My waitress: “how about a little bit of noodles?” I replied: “okay I’ll only take a small portion.” 10mins later my large plate hits the table and a more than 1/2 the plate was filled with noodles. This left a small space for maybe 6-8pc shrimp & a side of fried rice that I poured onto the plate. My waitress: “how is your meal?” I replied: “ma’am I said I didn’t want any noodles to begin with and then you ask if I’ll at least try a little bit of the noodles in which I agreed with a little bit.” Ma’am more than half of my plate is full of noodles. No I am not pleased with my meal at all & my service. My waitress: “I’m sorry that’s how it comes” Me: Can I have the check please so I can leave. (I won’t be returning nor will I recommend to others. Maybe I would’ve been better off dining the hibachi experience for 1 instead.)
We had a group dinner before Christmas thought it would be a good place to catch up with friends. After 45 minutes we were kicked out by the hostess. Prior to that as we were eating my friend and I were being rushed to finish eating. Our waitress rolled her eyes because I was still eating. She handed us the check then asked if we were done with our plates. They started eyeing the table and had the bussers hover. The hostess sternly yelled at us “Ladies is there anything else we can get you? No. Have a good night.” There were several tables open as well as the sushi bar. If they had told us they needed to free the table up that would have been acceptable and understandable. Sadly that wasn’t the case, if that is an issue they should put a sign with a time limit. That way paying customers can determine if they want to subject themselves to that kind of treatment.
Great hibachi spot... large portions. Our chef was lively and friendly, food was cooked perfectly. Noodles, rice, chicken, shrimp, lobster all delicious and not overcooked. The veggies were a little plain but no complaints, the other parts of the meal made up for it. Reasonably priced for hibachi. Would come here again for a birthday.
My friend and I went to half of sushi, which is Mondays/Tuesdays! When we walked in the front door, the guy at the front said we had an hour to eat because they “closed” at 9:30 PM (mind you it was only 8:30) we got seated and the waitress was kind of snippy to begin with. She told us that the first order of our rolls was going to be half off but the second order of sushi was going to be full price(it should all be half off not full price the second round?) we ordered two waters with lemon and a scorpion bowl to share, she took a while to bring those out! When she brought us our waters she o Lu brought one, my friend said can we please get another water, we ordered two? She asked “oh you order two water?” We then ordered a Kani salad (which was delicious) and two specialty rolls with shrimp tempora (black jack and coconut shrimp). When she brings out our plates she drops them aggressively on our table and made the table shake. When we got our salad, it was immaculate, but when she brought out the sushi we took a bite and thought it tasted off. So we grabbed another piece each and it still tasted weird! The shrimp tasted old, my friend went up to the bus boy and told him the sushi tasted off and he looked at her like she had 3 heads. They took our sushi back and took it off the tab, but when we got our check we noticed they added 18 % gratuity for no reason so my friend and I wil NEVER be coming back to this establishment ever again
Ever since COVID, it’s been hard to find a decent hibachi spot. A lot of restaurants either closed or stopped offering table-side cooking. A couple of weeks ago my friend was craving hibachi and we decided to visit Ichiro. He had been once several years ago and this was my first visit. Ichiro was absolutely lovely. The red interior was beautiful. We went on a Saturday night and despite the restaurant being “steady,” the atmosphere was by no means crowded. Our chef was very friendly and entertaining. He was engaging, a bonafide singer, and was quite generous with the saki! Our food was fresh and cooked perfectly and there was more than enough to take to go. While I’m glad I had a fun hibachi experience again, the prices here seemed a little exorbitant. I ordered the Shrimp and Scallop Hibachi with white rice. My meal alone was $30.95! With that kind of pricing you really can’t justify what was served. Everything can be made at home—just minus the singing chef forcing saki down your throat.
