Ichiban Hibachi & Sushi

Great place to host a party. A dining gem in Newark. Very reasonably priced I usually order a few rolls each visit and then I'll order a few more to go so I can enjoy their sushi at home. I try to come here as often as possible. So worth the 3o minute drive.

I recently dined at Ichiban Hibachi & Sushi and had an incredible experience from start to finish. The moment I walked in, I was greeted by a friendly and welcoming atmosphere that made me feel right at home. The restaurant was impeccably clean, which added to the overall enjoyment of my meal. The highlight of the evening was undoubtedly the cook's performance. They brought not only their culinary skills but also a sense of fun and entertainment to the experience. Watching them skillfully prepare the food was truly captivating, and they engaged with guests in a delightful way that made the dining experience memorable. Overall, Ichiban Hibachi & Sushi is a fantastic spot for anyone looking to enjoy delicious food in a vibrant setting with outstanding service. I highly recommend it and can't wait to visit again!

Took my wife and kids out for sushi tonight. Unfortunately, it was an overall unpleasant experience. We were greeted and seated very quickly. Host and server were very nice and attentive. We order 10 sushi rolls for our family. From the time we ordered to the time the first food arrived was 1hr and 6minutes - insane!! We asked the server at about 40 minutes in if she could bring the sushi that was ready out as our kids patience was quickly running out. Come to our surprise they didn’t start making it yet! My wife hinted to me that we should just leave, but I really wanted to hang in there, and we did. So, after 1hr and 6 minutes we finally got our food. The food quality was just OK, sushi rolls were very small and didn’t look or taste like much love was put into making them. In the end, with the sushi portions on the smaller side, our kids were still hungry, but they said at least 25 minutes to order more food. The restaurant was clearly over-seated to what they could handle and should let guests know that while they can seat you quickly, expect to wait an eternity for food. We got our check and left - not a place we would recommend and visit again, which is sad because the staff was very nice.

Every time we go here it’s always amazing!! We recently found out about the AYCE menu that they offer, and honestly for the price point it is the best in all of northern Delaware in my opinion. It has not been opened too long, but we have created a lot of memories here. From going with friends to have fun, with family, and for our weddings rehearsal dinner. They have always been amazing with service and food from day one! They are slightly understaffed and are working on getting more help, but even through that they deliver absolutely amazing service. The owners are so sweet and kind, and the staff is amazing as well! Can’t wait to go back again!!

Ok, I'm actually surprised by this because this Wasn't my first time here. They're excellent service and good food is what brought me back. However, it saddens me to share my recent mother's Day experience. I came with myself and my two boys. After waiting for a while, someone approached. Due to the wait, we gave our full order. Drinks, appetizers and entrees. My two sons drinks came out in Styrofoam cups then after a while my jasmine tea came out Luke warm, close to cold... Then my boys salad and Miso soup... Then my oldest son's Bento box..... Then the check was dropped off. I was confused as my youngest son and myself haven't even gotten our food yet.! That was discouraging. I also had ordered water that had been forgotten.. so I reminded my waitress and she brought me water.... Also in Styrofoam cups. I didn't think anything of it until my son pointed out that we were the only ones with Styrofoam cups... But everyone else in the restaurant has glass cups. It just gave off the vibe that we were being rushed out. Then we asked for Togo containers and she gave me a flat container for UDON SOUP 🤦🏾‍♀️ However, all of that I was going to overlook since she said they were busy and I have had good service prior. Even tho they didn't look too busy to me. The waitress switched out my container for a soup container. I poured in my soup and planned to eat it at work. Today, I put the soup in the microwave. Pull off the lid and begin drinking the broth. To my surprise, there's a Gnat in the soup 🥺 This was my first time opening it since leaving the restaurant. It'll be a while before I return to this establishment.. which again is saddening because I've had Great service there before.
