About Hunan Wok

Welcome to Hunan Wok, a Chinese restaurant nestled in the heart of North Richland Hills, Texas, located at 5142 Rufe Snow Dr #121. As a dedicated establishment within the Chinese Restaurant category, Hunan Wok strives to bring the rich and diverse flavors of Chinese cuisine to local residents and visitors alike. With a long-standing presence in the community, Hunan Wok offers both the convenience of takeout and a dine-in experience for those seeking an authentic taste of Asia.

For those looking to place an order or make inquiries, Hunan Wok can be reached at (817) 656-0817 or their mobile number, +1 817-656-0817. This accessibility ensures that customers can easily connect with the restaurant to satisfy their cravings for Chinese food.

Based on feedback from real customers, Hunan Wok seems to offer a compelling culinary experience for those with a penchant for Asian flavors. One reviewer enthusiastically shared their delightful discovery of the Pepper-steak dish, describing it as an "absolutely amazing" experience that transported them back to a similar dish enjoyed in Hong Kong. The tenderness of the meat and the subtle kick of spice were highlighted as key aspects of this standout dish. Furthermore, the reviewer praised the egg rolls, noting their golden color, crispiness, and perfect preparation. This positive feedback suggests that Hunan Wok excels in creating dishes that resonate with authentic Asian tastes and high-quality execution.

The positive review also underscores the restaurant's ability to cater to even the most discerning palates. The reviewer, who typically expresses dissatisfaction with other Chinese restaurants, found Hunan Wok to be a welcome exception, expressing happiness at finally finding a local Chinese place they can genuinely enjoy. This speaks volumes about the potential quality and flavor profiles offered at Hunan Wok.

However, not all experiences have been uniformly positive. Another customer, a long-time patron of 20 years who typically opts for takeout, shared a less favorable dine-in experience. On a particular visit, the customer reported being the only group in the restaurant. While the food itself was not explicitly criticized, the service encountered left a negative impression. The reviewer mentioned a lack of attention from the waitress/manager after the food was served, difficulty in obtaining the bill and a carry-out container, and an unexpectedly high bill that included an automatically added tip for a small group of three. The customer expressed disappointment with the service, which was met with a dismissive response. This feedback indicates that while the food quality may be a strong point for Hunan Wok, consistency in service, particularly for dine-in customers, might be an area for improvement.

Despite the mixed feedback regarding the dine-in service on one occasion, the positive comments, especially concerning the food quality and authentic flavors, suggest that Hunan Wok has a strong foundation in its culinary offerings. The Pepper-steak appears to be a signature dish that has garnered high praise, and the egg rolls are also noted for their excellent preparation. For local users in North Richland Hills and the surrounding areas who appreciate genuine Chinese cuisine, particularly dishes with bold and authentic flavors, Hunan Wok presents an option worth considering.

Whether you are looking for a satisfying takeout meal to enjoy in the comfort of your home or considering a dine-in experience, it is advisable to keep in mind the varying perspectives on service. The consistent praise for the food, however, suggests that the kitchen at Hunan Wok is capable of delivering dishes that can truly impress. If you value authentic taste and are eager to try highly recommended items like the Pepper-steak and egg rolls, Hunan Wok invites you to explore their menu and experience their culinary offerings firsthand.

In conclusion, Hunan Wok in North Richland Hills stands as a Chinese restaurant that has, for many years, provided the local community with a taste of Asian cuisine. While there may be some variability in the dine-in service experience, the positive reviews highlighting the delicious and authentic flavors of dishes like the Pepper-steak and the perfectly cooked egg rolls suggest a kitchen that takes pride in its food. For those in search of a Chinese restaurant that offers flavorful and potentially memorable dishes, Hunan Wok remains a local option to explore, whether for takeout or dine-in. My husband’s love for Asian food is insane. He is always trying different Chinese restaurants and typically I have disliked the other restaurants he’s ordered from; I am extremely picky with Asian food. When he wanted to try yet another Chinese restaurant I already had an expectation to be disappointed. Once the food delivered I could smell something absolutely amazing in the bag. Turned out to be my Pepper-steak dish. Oh my gosh! My taste buds were immediately in Heaven. The meat is extremely tender and yummy with a little kick of spice. Reminded me of a dish I ate in Hong Kong last year. The egg rolls are even delicious too! Golden , crispy, and cooked to perfection. So happy we have finally found a Chinese place nearby I can actually eat and enjoy!

Been going here for the past 20 years always loved it here( we usually order and take it home ) but unfortunately this time we decided to eat there. We were the only ones in the restaurant. We got our food. It was the last time we saw our waitress/mgr Found a guy to get the bill & carry out container. The bill was crazy high, plus including her own tip. I understand with larger groups of 5 or more but there was only 3 of us. I mentioned how disappointed we were she just grunted wow

We both got the House Orange Chicken with rice and very much liked it. Based on what I've heard, I knew that it would be better to try this place for lunch. We ordered a couple hours or so into the afternoon. This orange chicken is the best I've had in a while. It's also spicy, so beware. I appreciate that there aren't veggies added. That waters down the sauce. You're literally getting chicken with orange slices and chilis in the sauce. I will ask for more sauce next time, it's that good. Knocked a star off due to the chicken being a little stale and the rice not being fluffy. If you want noodles instead, you're paying too much. It's $5. All in all, I enjoyed my lunch 😊

In 30 years of my life, the worst chinese food I have ever had. Ordered a shrimp dish which smelled like burned skin. Even the tom yum soup looked strange. Was super orange and looked like color had been added and tasted awful. Shrimp roll seemed stale. Couldn’t eat any of the items. Called them and the lady on the phone wasn’t even apologetic. Will never order from there again!

Good overall was good but my main problem was that I ordered spring rolls and wasn’t expecting shrimp in it. On the menu #105 does not disclose that there is shrimp inside (picture included of menu) I’ve never had a spring rolls from any restaurant that had meat in it. I’m allergic to shrimp. I called to ask if it was supposed to be in there and they said yes that it is a shrimp spring roll. When I said that the menu only says crispy spring roll and nothing about shrimp and that I was allergic. She said she had no ability to change it. They can get someone killed like that!
