About Hunan Restaurant

Welcome to Hunan Restaurant, a Chinese restaurant located at 913 S Fort Hood St, Killeen, TX 76541, USA. As a member of the Chinese Restaurant category, Hunan Restaurant aims to provide the Killeen community with a variety of Chinese culinary dishes. For inquiries or to place a takeout order, they can be contacted at (254) 526-7879 or their mobile number +1 254-526-7879.

Based on recent customer feedback, Hunan Restaurant appears to elicit strongly contrasting opinions regarding the quality of its food and services. One reviewer expressed an overwhelmingly positive experience, describing the food as "SO GOOD!!" to the point of inducing tears of joy upon the first bite. This enthusiastic review praised the delicious aroma and the overall satisfaction derived from the meal, even humorously suggesting a desire to pursue full-time employment to afford eating there daily. This exceptionally positive feedback indicates that Hunan Restaurant is capable of producing highly satisfying dishes that leave a lasting impression on some customers.

However, another recent review presents a significantly different perspective. This customer noted that Hunan Restaurant was still not allowing dine-in service, which they found "ridiculous" given the perceived end of the Covid-19 pandemic. Their experience with a takeout order of lemon chicken was highly negative, describing the chicken as "DRY AND OLD," "super dark," and "not edible," leading them to throw it out for fear of getting sick. This starkly contrasts with the first reviewer's experience, highlighting a potential inconsistency in food quality or specific dishes.

The same negative review provided a mixed assessment of other items ordered. The chicken wings and egg drop soup were reported as "good," and the rice was also satisfactory. However, a peculiar observation was made about the ketchup for their son's fries being served in a "little coke baggie," which the reviewer found unusual. Their husband's order of egg foo young was described as "okay." Ultimately, the inedible lemon chicken overshadowed the positive aspects of the other dishes, leading the customer to express disappointment with the overall $47 order and a likelihood of not ordering again.

The environment of Hunan Restaurant is not directly described in the provided reviews, aside from the mention that dine-in service is currently not available. This suggests that the focus of the current operation is primarily on takeout orders. The lack of information about the interior or ambiance makes it difficult to assess the dining environment for future potential dine-in customers.

The services offered by Hunan Restaurant currently seem to be limited to takeout, as indicated by the negative reviewer's experience with order pickup and the explicit statement about the unavailability of dine-in service. The quality of service is indirectly addressed through the contrasting food experiences. While one customer was ecstatic about the food, implying a satisfactory preparation and handling process, the other's negative experience with the lemon chicken and the unusual ketchup packaging raises questions about the restaurant's quality control and attention to detail.

In terms of features, Hunan Restaurant offers a menu that includes popular Chinese dishes such as lemon chicken, chicken wings, egg drop soup, egg foo young, and rice. The starkly different reviews suggest that the quality of these dishes can vary significantly. The exceptionally positive review indicates that some dishes are prepared to a very high standard, while the negative review highlights potential issues with the freshness and preparation of at least one key item, the lemon chicken. The unusual presentation of ketchup is also a notable, albeit minor, feature mentioned in one of the reviews.

Currently, there is no information provided regarding any promotional offers at Hunan Restaurant. Given the mixed recent feedback, any potential promotions might be secondary to addressing the apparent inconsistencies in food quality and the reasons behind the continued lack of dine-in service. Local users might be interested in knowing if there are any specials or discounts for takeout orders, but this information is not available in the provided reviews.

In conclusion, Hunan Restaurant in Killeen, TX, presents a complex picture based on the contrasting experiences of two recent customers. While one reviewer found the food to be exceptionally delicious, another encountered inedible lemon chicken and expressed disappointment with their overall order. The restaurant is currently not offering dine-in service, focusing solely on takeout. The quality of different menu items appears to vary, with some being well-received and others falling significantly short. Potential customers might want to consider these differing experiences when deciding whether to order from Hunan Restaurant. For the most up-to-date information on their menu, operating status regarding dine-in service, and any potential promotions, contacting the restaurant directly is recommended.

THE FOOD WAS SO GOOD!! When I got my food my mouth began to salivate at the delicious aroma the bag was admitting, but as my mother as a no eating rule in the car I was forced to let my saliva pool into my mouth and let my stomach grumble. When I finally got home a went straight to the dining room and tore away the plastic bag that was concealing the container that held my meal, when I took the first bite tears of joy began to pour from my eyes. This food makes me want to drop out of high school to peruse my job full time so I have the means to eat it every day. 10/5 ⭐️

Theyre still not letting people dine in. Covid is over. That's ridiculous. Anyways, I did an order pick up. I got lemon chicken. The chicken was DRY AND OLD. super dark and not edible. I threw it out. I didn't want to get sick. The chicken wings were good. The egg drop soup was good. The rice was good. My son got fries and they put ketchup in a little coke baggie. I've never seen any restaurant do ketchup that way😅 my husband got egg foo young. He said it was okay. My chicken was unacceptable and not edible. And for $47 it should have been better. We probably wouldn't order again :(

GROSS DO NOT BUY HERE ! This was supposed to be garlic wings this was horrible so was everything else we ordered we called and they told us to come back and get garlic wings which were still not correct everything tasted old even the sauce tasted like it was being stored in an old cupboard we ordered combination fried rice which was burnt and had no shrimp , orange chicken which was cold and clumpy and looked like pork fat and the chicken was clearly something they reheated it was super dry and the wings we’re dark brown the Actual meat was opaque which showed that it was cooked then refried I’ve plead bought from this place but this was my last time. The best thing was the crab Rangoon but that too was refried .

I just left this place. Very disappointed. The egg rolls were cold. I had to warm them up in the air fryer. The Lo mein was cold and lacking flavor. The only good thing was the fried rice, which was average. I wouldn't recommend this place. I spent about 40 dollars. I ordered the Shrimp broccoli(mid), house fried rice, house lo mein, egg rolls, and spring rolls. Spring rolls was fresh just bland.

Wasn’t a fan of the soups. The fried rice was decent. They put their chili oil in small baggies inside of another small baggie, very difficult to open 🙁 Honestly not bad for american chinese takeout
