About Hunan

Welcome to Hunan, your local Chinese Restaurant situated at 1200 Queensborough Blvd # C in Mt Pleasant, South Carolina. As a Chinese Restaurant, Hunan offers a familiar array of Chinese-American dishes for both dine-in and takeout customers in the Mt Pleasant area. Based on recent customer feedback, Hunan provides a generally positive dining experience characterized by cleanliness, efficient service, and freshly prepared food.

One customer, who noted that Hunan is a "typical Chinese restaurant," shared a mixed but ultimately positive experience. While expressing disappointment at the absence of Pad Thai on the menu, they found the sweet and sour chicken to be good. Their husband reportedly enjoyed the General Tso's chicken. The egg roll was also deemed good, although it differed from what the reviewer was accustomed to, likely due to regional variations in preparation. A particularly heartwarming aspect of this review was the staff's attentiveness to a child's disappointment, with one employee offering a light-up cup, which contributed to the overall happiness of the family. Ultimately, this customer stated that they were happy with their experience and would return on their next visit to town.

Another reviewer, who works at the Publix located in the same shopping center, is a regular customer at Hunan, dining there occasionally. This individual consistently reports that the restaurant is clean and that the food is prepared relatively quickly while also being freshly cooked. This speaks to the efficiency of the kitchen and the restaurant's commitment to maintaining a clean dining environment. The reviewer did express a desire for some dishes to have a bit more flavor, suggesting that while the food is generally good and fresh, some items might benefit from bolder seasoning. Despite this minor critique, they concluded that Hunan offers good value for money, making it a worthwhile option for those seeking a quick and freshly cooked meal.

Based on the available reviews, the environment of Hunan appears to be clean and likely typical of a casual Chinese restaurant. Its location within a shopping center that also houses a Publix suggests convenience and accessibility for shoppers and local workers alike. While specific details about the decor or ambiance are not provided, the consistent mention of cleanliness indicates that Hunan prioritizes a tidy and welcoming space for its customers.

The services offered by Hunan include both dine-in and takeout, as evidenced by the reviews of customers eating at the restaurant and those who are likely taking food to go. The service is described as relatively quick, particularly during occasional visits by a local worker during their breaks. The staff also demonstrated attentiveness and a willingness to go the extra mile by offering a comforting gesture to a child, suggesting a friendly and customer-oriented approach. However, there is no specific mention of delivery services or online ordering platforms in these reviews.

Features of Hunan include a menu of typical Chinese-American dishes, with positive mentions of sweet and sour chicken and General Tso's chicken. Their egg rolls are also considered good, albeit potentially different in style from those found in other regions. A notable feature is the restaurant's commitment to cleanliness and the speed at which they prepare freshly cooked food. The staff's kindness and willingness to engage with customers, as seen in their interaction with the disappointed child, also stand out as positive attributes. However, the absence of certain popular dishes like Pad Thai and a potential need for more robust flavor in some items could be considered limitations.

No specific promotional information, such as lunch specials, discounts, or loyalty programs, is mentioned in the provided customer reviews. It is common for Chinese restaurants to offer such deals, especially during lunch hours or for repeat customers. Local users interested in potential promotions at Hunan may want to inquire directly with the restaurant or check for any local advertising they might have.

In conclusion, Hunan Chinese Restaurant in Mt Pleasant, SC, offers a reliable option for those seeking familiar Chinese-American cuisine. It’s your typical Chinese restaurant. I was sad that they didn’t have Pad Thai, but the sweet and sour chicken was good! My husband loved their General Tso’s. The egg roll was good, it doesn’t taste like what I’m used to. I’m from a different state so I’m used to my usual place I go to. My daughter was upset and the one guy gave her a cup that lights up. Overall, we were happy and would return next time we’re in town.

I work at the publix in the same shopping center, and come here to eat on occasion. Whenever I come in and order, its always clean and the good comes out relatively quick while also being freshly cooked. I wish some of the items would have a bit more flavor to them, but otherwise it is well worth the money

I used to LOVE Bamboo Chinese take out but their quality went down. So I found Hunan and the first 3 times I ordered, I was pleasantly surprised. The food was very delicious and the service was fast. After that the quality started going down for Hunan. That is especially annoying when I am forced to spend almost $50 EVERY TIME for one person to eat, after tipping for their various charges. They charge you to order online, charge you to pay with a debit card and I tip 15%. So last night I tried again and I had 3 items. All of it was so bland and the mini corn tasted like mop water, so repulsive! It all went in to the garbage after a few bites or each thing. I had to settle for a can of Campbells soup for $2 and it tasted so much better. I will NOT make the mistake of throwing my hard earned money away with Hunan again. Buyer Beware!

Great service, great food. Food stays winning. Ordered the lo mein and it was the most the delicious lo mein I ever had. I usually never finish my food but it was so good, I couldn’t stop eating. My son is such a picky eater but he loves the fried rice and chicken wings and he always wants to eat here. We will continue to come here as long as they are still open.
