About Hunan of Fort Collins

Hunan of Fort Collins is a Chinese restaurant located at 731 E Harmony Rd #300 in Fort Collins, Colorado. Operating within the Chinese Restaurant category, Hunan of Fort Collins primarily serves the local community through its takeout service, as indicated by the available customer reviews. The restaurant can be contacted at (970) 207-9000 or +1 970-207-9000 for placing orders or inquiries. Recent customer feedback provides insights into various aspects of their offerings, including specific dishes, portion sizes, and overall value.

One customer who ordered takeout shared a detailed experience with several dishes. Their feedback on the spicy and sour soup was that it leaned heavily towards sourness, lacking the expected peppery or chili heat. They speculated whether this was due to not selecting an extra spicy option online, noting that their expectation was for a standard level of spiciness. This suggests a potential discrepancy between customer expectations and the default spice level of the soup, or perhaps an inconsistency in its preparation. The same customer also commented on the pork fried rice, which they ordered based on an online image showing chasiu pork. However, the delivered order contained regular pork pieces. Additionally, they found the fried rice itself to be standard, suggesting it could benefit from more flavor than just soy sauce. These points indicate potential issues with menu representation online and the flavor profile of the fried rice.

Despite these criticisms, the customer had a very positive experience with the egg rolls, describing them as the "best part of the order" and the "saving grace" of their dinner. They praised the crispy wrap and the delicious and plentiful filling, enjoying them so much that they ordered more the next day. This strong positive feedback highlights the egg rolls as a standout item on the menu and a potential draw for customers.

Another customer review focused on the seafood delight, expressing surprise at its $19 price point in relation to the portion size, noting that the container was only half filled. While they acknowledged that the food was "good," they indicated that they would likely not order again due to the perceived mismatch between price and quantity. This feedback raises concerns about the value proposition of certain dishes, particularly the seafood delight, and suggests that portion sizes might not align with customer expectations given the pricing.

Based on the available reviews, it's challenging to ascertain specific details about the environment of Hunan of Fort Collins, as both customers focused on their takeout experiences. There is no information provided regarding the ambiance, decor, or overall atmosphere of a dine-in setting. Therefore, an objective description of the restaurant's environment cannot be formed based on this data.

In terms of services, Hunan of Fort Collins primarily offers takeout, as indicated by the customers' experiences. The positive feedback on the egg rolls suggests efficiency in preparing this particular item for takeout. However, the issues with the spicy and sour soup and the pork fried rice highlight potential areas for improvement in food preparation for takeout orders. The discrepancy between the online image and the actual contents of the pork fried rice also points to a need for accuracy in online menu representations for takeout customers.

Features of Hunan of Fort Collins, as gleaned from the reviews, include the highly praised egg rolls, which are noted for their crispiness and flavorful filling. However, potential drawbacks include the spicy and sour soup that may lack expected heat, standard pork fried rice that could be more flavorful, and a seafood delight that may be perceived as overpriced for the portion size received. The accuracy of online menu depictions, particularly regarding ingredients in dishes like the pork fried rice, also appears to be a point of concern.

Promotional information is not explicitly mentioned in either of the provided customer reviews. There are no details about any special offers, discounts, or loyalty programs that Hunan of Fort Collins might be currently running. To obtain information about any potential promotions, local users would need to contact the restaurant directly using the provided phone numbers. This would be the most reliable way to learn about any current deals that could enhance their takeout experience.

In conclusion, Hunan of Fort Collins is a Chinese restaurant in Fort Collins, Colorado, primarily offering takeout services. Customer reviews highlight the exceptional quality of their egg rolls, but also point out potential areas for improvement in other dishes such as the spicy and sour soup and pork fried rice. Concerns were also raised about the portion size relative to the price of the seafood delight. The accuracy of online menu representations is another factor to consider. Local users interested in Hunan of Fort Collins should weigh these mixed reviews and may want to inquire directly about the consistency of their dishes and any current promotions before placing an order.

For those in the Fort Collins area seeking Chinese takeout, Hunan of Fort Collins presents a mixed bag based on recent feedback. The highly recommended egg rolls might be a significant draw. However, potential customers should be aware of the reported issues with the flavor of the spicy and sour soup, the standard nature of the pork fried rice, and the perceived value of the seafood delight. As there is no information about the dine-in environment or any ongoing promotions, contacting the restaurant directly for more details and to address any specific concerns might be a prudent step before placing an order.

Ordered some take out the other night. The spicy and sour soup was just sour with no peppery heat or chili heat. Not sure if it's because I ordered it with no extra spicy selected on the site? Back home hot n sour soup comes in hot as default so I assumed I didn't want it more spicy that the standard. The pork fried rice, I ordered because the image on the site showing fried rice with chasiu pork on it. The order came with regular pork pieces only. The fried rice itself was just standard, can do a little more flavor instead of just soy sauce. The egg rolls!!! This is the best part of the order. It was definitely the saving grace of my dinner. The wrap was crispy and the filling was delicious and plentiful. I liked it so much, I got couple more the next day 😁

Can't believe the seafood delight was $19 and only half filled the container. Good is good, but probably won't order again as the price doesn't match the amount.

Came here for take out and ordered orange chicken, pork egg rolls, wonton soup and chicken chow mein. Everything was fine except the fact that when I got home I opened my bag and called them immediately thinking half my order was missing since the bag contained wonton strips that they claimed were “crispy noodles” which I’ve never ever heard of in my life and slimy chicken with cabbage in a separate container. Somehow that’s supposed to resemble chicken chow mein. Tell me how that is possible cause I’ve quite literally never in my life had shit like that. I genuinely wouldn’t even feed it to my dog. Beyond disappointed and will not be coming back

I went here with my family tonight, and we were very pleased. We started with crab rangoons, which were some of the best i’ve had, amazing texture, and fried dumplings, and which could use a bit more filling but were overall very tasty. For mains we got the crispy duck, sesame chicken, general tso’s chicken, and chicken lo mein. The sesame chicken was wonderful, i’m not usually a fan of the dish because it’s often just blandly sweet, but this had a full flavor with a tiny bit of spice to it, and a great crispy texture. The general tso’s and lo mein were both quite good, nothing especially remarkable, but no complaints. The highlight in my opinion was the crispy duck. SO rich and perfectly crispy, with a nice layer of fat, and served with a side of plum sauce to balance it out. I know this isn’t up everyone’s alley, but it was wonderful for me. Everything came with a small side of steamed broccoli, which was a nice touch. The service was great, the hostess and the lady who bussed our table were both so sweet. Our server seemed a bit intimidating at first, but we soon realized she was very efficient and polite, just not conversational, which was not an issue in the slightest. The restaurant was very clean, and the atmosphere was low key, classic decor and some nice jazz piano playing in the background. It reminded me very much of the Chinese restaurants that my family frequented when I was a kid, all of which are closed in my hometown these days. It was a lovely little dose of nostalgia. Had a wonderful experience overall, and will plan to return next time I’m in town.

Tried this today as take out. Ordered sweet and sour chicken & veggie lo mein. The chicken was severely over cooked and stringy/hard, the sweet and sour sauce was super watery, and the lo mein had a bunch of hard bits of noodles (or something else) in it. The side of fried rice was good though. Unfortunately won’t be back.
