All the food in general has pretty authentic taste except for the toned down spiciness. I would recommend getting the meshed chilli peppers with century eggs, where the meshing happens in front of you, and the stinky tofu, which might not be on the menu. Both are special and taste good. The braised pork in pot was a bit chewy, and the stir fried chicken gizzards with pickled beans feels like the bean has not been picked enough. Also, I wouldn't get the stir fry veggies dishes as they're just way overpriced. The server also refuses to let the seven of us use the round table, although none was occupied while we were there, and it made it hard to share the dishes like you'd normally do in Chinese restaurants.

Very tasty and authentic Chinese food. They can go very spicy so be careful when asking for extra spicy (stay mild or no spicy if you can't handle Szhechuan food at other restaurants). Service is not very attentive and servers barely interact with customers. I highly recommend their dry pot dishes (beef, boneless chicken); Braised pork in pot; Pork belly with preserved veggies; Smoked pork with dry bamboo. I also recommend ordering deliveries instead of dining there.

Yesterday my husband and I went to there with couple of our friends. I have been in this restaurant couple of years ago and food was excellent. So this time we ordered: Stir Fried Beef Tenderloin With Pickled Chili & Cilantro, Pork Belly Stir Fried W/ Long Pepper, Chinese Eggplants With Beans, Chinese Eggplants With Beans, Steamed Fish Fillet & Tofu W/ Diced Spicy Red Peppers.. The best was the pork belly which had excellent texture and full of flavors. Second best one was that fish fillet with tofu. It looks very simple steamed fish but again the flavor came out surprisingly good. We all loved the Chinese eggplant and green beans. The beef tenderloin was very tender and rich taste from picked chili.

Excellent service and food! We were seated immediately with no wait. The resturant is clean and modern with a nice atmosphere. Our server was friendly and attentive. We ordered pork fried rice, egg rolls, egg drop soup, pork dumplings, and orange chicken. Hot tea was included with the meal free. Everything was served quickly and was delicious! I will definately eat here again. Highly recomend!

Came here during a work trip and stopped for dinner. The food is pretty authentic as I can hear local Hunan dialects in the restaurant which can only means one thing: people from Hunan approve it 😉 I ordered a pork dish (pic feet) and stir fried potato with vinegar (醋溜土豆丝). The dishes were pretty spicy as expected. I really love the sauce from the pic feet as it was perfect to mix with rice 🍚. Only one thing that I noticed: the cutting of the potato was a bit underwhelming as I would expect chef be able to cut it in really thin strips rather than what was served. But I’m nick-picking at this point. Overall pretty descent place if you are looking for some authentic spicy Chinese food in Chicago.
