About Hunan Chinese Restaurant

Hunan Chinese Restaurant, located at 745 W Elk Ave in Elizabethton, Tennessee, offers local residents a place to enjoy Chinese cuisine. As a restaurant in the Chinese Restaurant category, Hunan Chinese Restaurant aims to provide a variety of dishes, potentially specializing in the flavors and cooking styles characteristic of Hunan cuisine, although this is not explicitly stated in the provided information. Based on recent customer feedback, experiences at this establishment appear to be somewhat varied, with some customers expressing high satisfaction and others reporting significant disappointment.

One customer shared a very positive first impression of Hunan Chinese Restaurant. They described their meal as "delicious," aligning with what they had heard prior to their visit. This reviewer specifically praised the freshness and fluffiness of the rice, the tenderness and perfect cooking of the vegetables, and the ideal crunch of the vegetable roll. They also noted the "spot on" quality of the wonton soup and crunchy chips that accompanied their meal. Beyond the food, this customer highlighted the exceptional service they received, describing everyone as "super nice, friendly, and professional." They concluded by commending the great service and value, stating their intention to return to Hunan Chinese Restaurant.

In contrast, another customer reported a significantly negative experience with a classic Chinese dish, orange chicken. This reviewer expressed considerable disappointment, questioning how a staple dish could be mishandled. They described receiving two soggy chicken cutlets with hardly any sauce, a stark departure from the typically prepared orange chicken that is usually cut into smaller pieces and coated in a distinct sauce. This customer felt that the dish was not prepared correctly and indicated that they would have sent it back if they had been dining in the restaurant. They lamented the soggy texture and felt that if they had simply wanted chicken and rice, they could have prepared it themselves for a significantly lower cost, leading to their disappointment with the meal and the value for money.

These two contrasting reviews provide a mixed perspective on Hunan Chinese Restaurant. The positive review highlights the potential for delicious food, particularly praising the freshness of ingredients and the quality of dishes like the vegetable roll and wonton soup. It also emphasizes excellent customer service and good value. On the other hand, the negative review raises concerns about the preparation and quality of at least one staple dish, orange chicken, suggesting potential inconsistencies in the kitchen. This discrepancy in feedback is important for local users to consider when deciding whether to visit Hunan Chinese Restaurant.

The provided information does not offer specific details about the environment or ambiance of Hunan Chinese Restaurant. The positive reviewer focused primarily on the food and service, while the negative reviewer's experience seemed to be based on a takeout or delivery order, as they mentioned what they would have done if dining in. Therefore, local users seeking information about the restaurant's atmosphere or decor will need to look for additional online resources or potentially visit the location themselves.

Similarly, the reviews do not provide insights into the range of services offered by Hunan Chinese Restaurant beyond dine-in and potentially takeout or delivery (implied by the negative review). It is reasonable to assume that, as a Chinese restaurant, they likely offer a standard menu with a variety of appetizers, soups, entrees featuring different meats and vegetables, and rice or noodle dishes. The mention of a vegetable roll and orange chicken indicates some of the offerings available.

There is no specific information about unique features of Hunan Chinese Restaurant in the provided text. The positive reviewer's comments suggest a focus on fresh ingredients and well-prepared dishes, while the negative reviewer's experience indicates a potential lack of attention to detail in the preparation of certain items. Without further information, it is difficult to identify any distinguishing characteristics of this restaurant compared to other Chinese eateries in the area.

Finally, there is no promotional information included in the customer reviews. It is unknown if Hunan Chinese Restaurant currently offers any special deals, discounts, or loyalty programs. Local users interested in such information would need to contact the restaurant directly at (423) 542-6112 or +1 423-542-6112 to inquire about any current promotions or visit their location at 745 W Elk Ave in Elizabethton to see if any are advertised.

In conclusion, Hunan Chinese Restaurant in Elizabethton, TN, has received both positive and negative feedback from recent customers. While one reviewer praised the delicious food, fresh ingredients, and excellent service, another expressed significant disappointment with the preparation of a staple dish, orange chicken. This mixed feedback suggests that the experience at Hunan Chinese Restaurant may be inconsistent. Local users should consider these varying perspectives when deciding whether to dine here. Those who value fresh ingredients and good service may find a positive experience, while others might be cautious about the consistency of food preparation. For further inquiries about the menu, services, or any potential promotions, Hunan Chinese Restaurant can be contacted at the provided phone numbers.

It was my first visit, and the food was delicious, as I had heard. The rice was fresh and fluffy. The vegetables were tender and cooked to perfection. The vegetable roll had the perfect crunch. Wonton soup and crunchy chips were spot on. Everyone was super nice, friendly, and professional. Great service, value, and I will be back.

How do you mess up orange chicken? A staple Chinese dish and you made 2 chicken cutlets that were soggy and didn't have hardly any sauce? Why wasn't it cut up and made like normal orange chicken? If I got that in restaurant, I would have sent it back. It's soggy and if I really wanted chicken and rice, I'd have saved $20 and made it myself... disappointed.

I just picked up dinner for my family, sesame chicken, chicken lo mein, crab ragoon, and an extra rice. What an absolute abomination of food. The sesame chicken looks like it’s been sitting in a steam table for 3 days and reheated about 6 more times than that. Tasted just like it too. The chicken lo mein litterally has gizzards in it and looks like whoever “cooked” it went to food city, bought a rotisserie chicken picked it apart and put it in some nasty sour tasting noodles🫤. Do I need to mention the rice. It’s all dehydrated not a drop of moisture in sight and guess what, litterally been sitting in a warmer for a week and they just reuse it and reuse it until they sell it all. Who needs expiration dates. Not this restaurant. I am honestly afraid to feed this to my 3 yr old, that’s who the chicken lo mein was for, now she is super disappointed. So I went to return it and wouldn’t you know I get back the the restaurant to give them their garbage and get my money back and they were closed at 8:55 (supposed to stay open till 9). But I can definitely see why they would be closing early, ain’t nobody beating down the door to get some hot trash in a plastic bag. Needless to say will be keeping this food in my fridge until Tuesday when they open again so I can get my money back and they can have whatever this ish js back. I truly wish I could iterate what this food smells like but the pictures will do it some justice. Hide your family far away from this place unless you like food poisoning. Side note, just got back to my house to put the food in the fridge and the cup they put my wonton soup in, opened up in the bag. Probly shouldn’t put hot soup in a styrofoam cup. Sooo I just wanted to add the following Tuesday I took the food back and spoke with the owner and she didn’t approve of what had happened and gave me a full refund. Which was very nice of her and she didn’t have to do. So that was very much appreciated.

I've been eating at Hunans since 1987 and the only thing I miss is the original building. It had great atmosphere. I can honestly say I have NEVER gotten anything but top notch delicious food from Hunans. There is no place in East Tennessee that makes a better egg roll. Every place else is nothing but a grease bomb. LUV U HUNANS!! Keep up the good work and GREAT food!!
