About Huang Garden Restaurant

Huang Garden Restaurant, nestled in a strip mall near the Hays Market in Johnstown, Colorado, presents itself as a noteworthy find within the Chinese restaurant category. This establishment, located at 257 Johnstown Center Dr, has garnered attention through word-of-mouth recommendations, suggesting it offers a distinct dining experience for local users seeking Chinese cuisine. As a Chinese restaurant, Huang Garden likely provides a range of familiar dishes and services associated with this category, including options for dine-in and takeout.

For those in Johnstown and the surrounding areas interested in trying Huang Garden Restaurant, they can be contacted at (970) 587-2363 or via their mobile number +1 970-587-2363. These contact details are essential for making inquiries about their menu, placing orders for pickup, or confirming their operating hours and dine-in availability.

The customer reviews for Huang Garden Restaurant offer a somewhat polarized view of the dining experience. One reviewer shared a highly positive experience, noting that the restaurant came "highly recommended" and did not disappoint. They praised the dishes they tried as "fantastic and delicious," emphasizing that the restaurant does not skimp on meat by overcompensating with vegetables. The portion sizes were described as "quite generous," and the food was consistently fresh and "oh so tasty!" This positive experience led to multiple return visits, indicating a high level of satisfaction and consistency.

This enthusiastic reviewer specifically recommended several dishes, including sesame chicken, sesame beef, orange chicken, orange beef, and Mongolian beef, suggesting these are standout options on their menu. They also provided details about the preparation of some of these dishes, noting that the fried items (sesame chicken, sesame beef, orange chicken, and orange beef) had a "very lightly coated batter" and were fried to "absolute perfection," avoiding the common issue of a thick layer of dough masking a small amount of meat. The Mongolian beef was praised for being cooked "just right to juicy perfection" and seasoned well with sauce, onions, and black pepper.

Even the complimentary red dipping sauce served with fried wonton strips before the meal was highlighted for its unique flavor, featuring a "pleasant yet slight hint of fresh ginger" instead of a typical sugary, red-dye sauce. This attention to detail in even the accompaniments suggests a commitment to quality and flavor. The reviewer concluded with a strong recommendation for Huang Garden Restaurant.

However, a contrasting review presents a significantly negative experience. This customer described the food as being of "poor quality" and having "no flavor," with the fried rice specifically labeled as "terrible." They claimed to have tried the food twice with consistent disappointment, finding it "flavorless." The reviewer also expressed frustration with the sweet and sour chicken, noting that it is "not difficult to make" yet was unsatisfactory at Huang Garden. A particularly irksome issue for this customer was having to request sweet and sour sauce for the sweet and sour chicken and being charged extra for it, which they deemed "ridiculous" and not standard practice. This negative experience led to a firm statement that they "won't be back," and they lamented that Huang Garden might be the only Chinese option in Johnstown.

Considering these divergent reviews, the perception of Huang Garden Restaurant appears to vary significantly among customers. While one group finds the food delicious, fresh, and generously portioned with excellent preparation, another finds it lacking in flavor and quality, with issues regarding standard accompaniments and pricing. This suggests potential inconsistencies in food preparation or perhaps different expectations and preferences among diners.

Information regarding the environment or ambiance of Huang Garden Restaurant is limited. One reviewer mentions its location in a strip mall near Hays Market, which typically suggests a casual and functional setting rather than a highly themed or upscale atmosphere. The positive reviewer did not comment on the decor or ambiance, focusing instead on the food and service. The negative reviewer also did not mention the environment, indicating that their dissatisfaction stemmed primarily from the food itself.

Similarly, details about the services offered are primarily inferred. The mention of dining at the restaurant and the expectation of sweet and sour sauce with a specific dish suggest that dine-in service is available. The ability to order takeout is also implied, as customers would need to get the food to form their opinions. Delivery service is not explicitly mentioned in either review, so it is unclear if Huang Garden offers this option. The positive reviewer praised the food and the overall experience, implicitly suggesting satisfactory service. However, the negative reviewer's experience of having to request and pay extra for a standard sauce points to a potential issue with service or policy.

The features of the cuisine at Huang Garden Restaurant seem to include a range of classic Chinese-American dishes, such as sesame chicken, orange beef, and Mongolian beef, which were highlighted for their quality by one reviewer. The attention to detail in the light batter of fried items and the unique ginger-infused dipping sauce suggest a potential for well-executed dishes. However, the negative review indicating flavorless food and poorly prepared fried rice raises concerns about the consistency and overall quality of their offerings. The issue with the sweet and sour sauce suggests a deviation from standard practices for that particular dish.

Promotional information is absent from the provided reviews. Restaurants often use promotions to attract customers, such as lunch specials, combination deals, or discounts on certain days. Without any mention of such offers in the available feedback, it is not possible to comment on any promotional aspects of Huang Garden Restaurant. Local users would need to check directly with the restaurant to inquire about any current specials or discounts.

In conclusion, Huang Garden Restaurant in Johnstown, CO, presents a mixed picture based on the available customer reviews. While some patrons have found it to be a "gem" with fantastic, fresh, and generously portioned food, particularly recommending dishes like sesame chicken and Mongolian beef, others have experienced poor quality, flavorless meals, and issues with standard accompaniments and pricing. The discrepancy in these reviews suggests that the dining experience at Huang Garden might be inconsistent or that customer expectations vary widely. Local users in Johnstown should consider these contrasting opinions when deciding whether to try Huang Garden Restaurant. It might be prudent to inquire about specific dishes or current practices regarding sauces before ordering, especially if dietary preferences or expectations are particular.

Tucked away in the strip mall that is located near the Hays Market in Johnstown is this gem of a find of Chinese restaurant. Huang Garden restaurant came highly recommended by our daughter. So, we decided to give it a try. And we weren't disappointed. The dishes we've tried there so far have been fantastic and delicious! They definitely don't skimp on the meat by throwing-in a bunch of vegetables to mask things. The portion sizes were quite generous. Everything we've had there so far have been fresh and oh so tasty! We liked it so much that we've now been there several times. I highly recommend their sesame chicken, sesame beef, orange chicken, orange beef and Mongolian beef. I am sure everything in their menu is great but above are the dishes we tried so far. The above dishes, except for the Mongolian beef, were fried in very lightly coated batter and fried to absolute perfection! So there wasn't a thick layer of dough masking a thin sliver of meat (some restaurants use this trick to stretch their meat). The Mongolian beef was cooked just right to juicy perfection; seasoned to absolute perfection with just the right amount of sauce, onions and black pepper. Even the red dipping sauce they serve you with fried wonton strips before your meal comes was delicious. Instead of your sugary red-dye sauce, this had a pleasant yet slight hint of fresh ginger. I highly recommend this Chinese restaurant!

Poor quality, no flavor, fried rice is terrible. I have tried the food 2 times and it's flavorless. Sweet and sour chicken is not difficult to make. Very disappointed. Won't be back. I shouldn't have to ask for them to give me sweet and sour sauce for the sweet and sour chicken and had to pay extra for the sauce. It should come with the sauce if you order sweet and sour chicken. Ridiculous. Do better. Sad that this is the only option in Johnstown.

Went for the first time yesterday will definitely go again to try other things. Beef and scallops is the reason I don't give this a 5 star. The scallops were way overcooked and not very many for the price. Orange chicken was top notch.

It's our favorite local restaurant for dining in or taking out. Our waitress is always very friendly and knows us when we come in. The chicken fried rice is delish with lots of chicken. My only suggestion for improvement would be the spicier foods or so spicy that I can hardly eat them and I like spicy food. For example, We love Mongolian beef and get it at a lot of restaurants but theirs is listed as spicy and it's so spicy we couldn't even eat it. Even after I got home I tried to add some sauce to lighten the spice. But we enjoy the other dishes like the combo dinners, the beef scallion dinner, and the cashew chicken! That cream cheese wontons and the sweet and sour sauce are amazing!!!

I saw the reviews and decided to try it out. Anytime I go to a Chinese restaurant, I always get my "go-to" to start which is sesame chicken. And I did not like it at all. $15 down the drain. The chicken was heavily breaded with mutiple pieces not even being chicken just all starch. The taste itself was kinda tar like and a little too sweet. Their fried rice comes with a $1 upcharge and it too was extremely basic. I'm convinced Colordoans are deprived of truly great tasting Asian food in general. And no I don't believe in judging food off a first experience except when it comes to Asian dining. What u see is what u definitely get because they are definitely a model of consistency(which is a great thing). To each their own though!
