About Hoya Asian Express
Hoya Asian Express is an Asian restaurant located at 1098 Main St, Watertown, CT 06795, USA. They can be contacted at (959) 209-4226 or +1 959-209-4226. This restaurant offers a variety of Asian cuisine, including Chinese dishes and poke bowls.
Customer reviews indicate a mixed experience. Many customers have praised the restaurant for its friendly staff and certain dishes, such as the lo mein and crispy sesame chicken, which received high recommendations. The cashier is frequently mentioned for being exceptionally nice and helpful.
The restaurant also features unique decor elements, including touch screen mirrors in the bathroom and waving bear decorations, which some customers found charming. The atmosphere and design of the place have been positively noted.
However, there are also reports of inconsistencies in food quality. One customer found their poke bowl underwhelming, citing a lack of flavor and incorrect preparation. While they found the bourbon chicken to be better, it was still not considered exceptional. This customer indicated they would give the restaurant another chance, attributing the issues to potential teething problems as a new establishment.
Overall, Hoya Asian Express offers a range of Asian dishes with friendly service and unique decor. Potential customers should be aware of the mixed reviews regarding food consistency, particularly with the poke bowls. It is recommended to consider both the positive and negative feedback when deciding to dine at this restaurant.

Super good lo main and crunchy chicken fingers. The staff were very kind and I can't wait till they open fully on Monday to try a poke bowl. I will update on that when I get it. The bears waving to the cars was super cute. They also have super cool mirrors in the bathroom you can change the light color and other touch screen mirror features. I never knew there was touchscreen mirrors. Overall the decor and designs to the place are nice and I wish them all the best going forward. I know I'll be a frequent customer. EDIT: I tried them Monday (yesterday now) and the poke bowl I got was super underwhelming and I ended up having to make my own spicy mayo and smoked salmon because it didn't have nearly enough sauce and flavor. They also didn't prepare it the way I asked and I made sure to be specific. My boyfriend got the burbon chicken and it was better than my pokebowl but still wasn't anything spectacular. We will still be giving them another chance as maybe it was a fluke because they were new but our food wasn't worth it this time.
Wow!!! First time trying this place and it’s absolutely amazing. The cashier was extremely nice and went over the menu with me and recommended the crispy sesame chicken. I’m eating it as I write this review and it’s really hitting the spot. I would highly recommend Hoya to everyone. Will absolutely repeat.😀 🥡🥢🥠
The food at Hoya Asian Express is made to your liking with fresh ingredients. I really enjoyed my dinner of chicken with mixed veggies in brown sauce. Even the white rice was perfectly cooked. All yummy! The owners transformed the building into a bright and friendly place to enjoy a meal. I highly recommend.
Very clean, visuals on add ons good, looks fresh. Staff very helpful. Have eaten there now 5 -6 times and right on point. Have done take out and again on point. Really good food and we hope they do well as this is a great go to place for Asian food that will not hurt your wallet in these crazy days. Good food!!!
I am excited for Hoya to be in watertown because their food is not only delicious but it's affordable AND the correct portion sizes! I've grown tired of some of the Chinese restaurants around because it costs $13+ for a combo platter and the sizing is aost good for 2 people. Sometimes you just want a small amount and Hoya fits the bill. I love the option for 2 or 3 entree options to try new things and again, you don't have to spend $7 on a small from the other places to try it. The chicken was moist and flavorful, the duck sauce tastes homemade with no added color. It was a really filling meal and can't wait to go back!
